MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: Ph.D with first class or
equivalent grade at the preceeding degree in an appropriate branch/discipline
with a very good academic record throughout. A minimum of three years
Teaching/Research/Industrial experience. Further, the candidate should
preferably be below 35 years of age. An outstanding Engineer/Technologist
working in Industry and one who has made significant contribution to
knowledge, but one who does not have a Ph.D degree, may also be considered
in truly exceptional cases in certain areas.
Scale of Pay. Rs. 12000/- 420-18300 p.m. plus allowances, such as DP, DA,
CCA, HRA, as admissible to Central Govt employees stationed in Delhi.
The pay scale is underrevision.
NOTES:
l Government of India policy on reservation of faculty positions,
including that for persons with disability, will apply.
l There is provision of waive the Ph.D requirement for the post of
Asstt. Professor in the areas of Design in IDD Centre.
l If it is felt necessary or desirable, the appointment in a Centre or a
School may be made on the basis of “joint appointment” with an
appropriate Department.
l The minimum requirement of qualification experience may be
relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidates in
certain areas.
l A mere fulfillment of required minimum qualifications and
experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for an
interview/discussion.
l Depending upon the qualification and/or, a higher start/salary may
be offered in deserving cases.

10+2 TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME
COURSE - 22 COMMENCING FROM JAN 2010
1. Applications are invited from unmarried, Male Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics (Hereinafter referred to as PCM) subjects and fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed
in the subsequent paragraphs, for the grant of permanent commission in the Army after 4 years of Basic Military
Training and Technical Training thereafter with the terms and conditions given in the succeeding paragraphs.
2. ELIGIBILITY:
(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of
Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and
East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and
Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii),
(iv) and (v) above shall be
a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination provisionally
subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Govt before declaration of result by SSB/joining
training.
(b) Age Limit, Sex and Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the entry. A candidate must
not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing
i.e. the candidate should not be born before 01 Jul 1990 and not after 01 Jul 1993 (both days inclusive). The date
of birth accepted by the office is that entered in the Marticulation or Secondary School Leaving certificate or in the
certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of
Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University
or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. No other document relating to age like
horoscopes, affidavits, birth extract from municipal corporation, service records and the like will be accepted. The
expression Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the
alternative certificate mentioned above.
NOTE 1: Candidate should note only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Higher Secondary Examination
Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted and no subsequent
request for its change will be considered or granted.
NOTE 2: Candidates should also note that once a date of birth has been claimed by them and entered in the records,
no change will be allowed subsequently or a subsequent examination on any ground whatsoever.
NOTE 3: The Candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth in the application form. If on
verification at any subsequent stage any variation is found in their date of birth form one entered in their
matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, disciplinary action will be taken against them under rules.
NOTE 4: Candidates must undertake not to marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries
subsequent to the date of his application, though successful, will not be selected for training. A candidate who
marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the
government.
(C) Educational Qualification: Only those candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with
a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for this entry.
3. VACANCIES: The number of vacancies for this course is 85. Vacancies are provisional and can be changed
depending on the training capacity at IMA for this course. The vacancies are subject to increase/decrease keeping
the organisional requirement at the point of time.
4. TYPE OF COMMISSION: On successful completion of 4 Years of the course cadets will be granted Permanent
Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt. in Arms/Services as per discretion of Army HQ.
TRAINING
5. Total training will be 5 years, Details as under:
(a) Basic Military Training : 1 year (IMA, Dehradun). (b) Technical Training: (i) Phase-I (Pre Commission
Training): 3 Years (CME Pune, MCTE Mhow and MCEME Secunderabad), (ii) Phase-II (Post Commission Training):
1 year at CME Pune, MCTE Mhow and MCEME Secunderabad. (c) Award of Degree: The candidates will be awarded
Engineering degree after successful completion of training as given out in para 5 (a) and (b) above. No ante date
seniority will be admissible to candidates on account of this Engineering degree. The officers who fail to qualify in
Engineering will re-appear in the examination in the following year. In case they fail to qualify in the following year
examination also, the same will result in loss of seniority to them and they will forfiet seniority to the extent of delay
in passing Engineering degree examination. If they fail to qualify even within three years of their commissioning,
their commission will be terminated.
COST OF TRAINING
6. The entire cost of training including books and reading material is borne by the Army. Cadets are also provided
with free clothing and messing. In case the GC is withdrawn from IMA Dehradun due to reasons other than Medical
ground or the reasons not beyond his control, he will be liable to refund cost of training @ Rs. 7075/ -per week for
the period of his stay at IMA.
HOW TO APPLY
7. Application forms in accordance with the prescribed format and complete in all respects with superscription on the
envelope” APPLICATION FOR 10+2 (TES) COURSE SER. NO. 22, Jan 2010 is to be sent to the following address
to reach by 30 JUNE 2009. Integrated HQ of MOD (Army), Adjutant General’s Branch, Addl. Dte Gen of Rtg.,
West Block-3, RK Puram, New Delhi PIN-900108 C/o 56 A.P.O. Application will be sent by Regd. Mail. Application
received after 30 June 2009, will be rejected outright. All documents will be properly tagged. Loose endorsement
will not be entertained.
“Apply on the prescribed format on A4 size white sheet either computer printed /typed/ handwriten.
Application form can also be downloaded from Army Website i.e. http://www.indianarmy.gov.in
The aggregate percentage in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be written on top of the envelope
containing application.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
8. The selection procedure is as follows:
(a) Short listed candidates will be called for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at Bhopal, Bangalore or
Allahabad. Interviews will be held in Aug/Sep 2009 onwards. (b) Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding
day of arrival. During their stay at SSB, Candidates are put through psychological Test, Group test and Interviews.
(c) Candidates will be put through stage -I of the selection procedure on the first day. Only successful candidates
shall be retained for balance of the testing. Candidates who fail to qualify in stage -I, will be returned on the first day
itself, Stage I are psychologically originated test including intelligence test. (d) Successful candidates at the SSB
will be required to undergo medical test lasting 3 to 5 days less Sundays and gazetted holidays. (e) Candidates
recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in the order of merit, depending
on the number of vacancies available. (f) One second class fare is admissible for the interview (to and fro) for the
first time only.
STIPEND/PAY AND ALLOWANCES
9. The candidates will be given a stipend of Rs. 21,000/- p.m. (Rs 15,600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of
Rs. 5,400/-) as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years training. On completion of 4 Years training
they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank.
The Pay Bands are as under:-

Qualification Pay and Grant
Officers possessing certain prescribed qualification are entitled to lumpsum Qualification Grant of 6,000/-, 9,000/
-, 15,000/- or 20,000/- based on the qualification held by the them.
The Army Aviators (Pilots) serving in Army Aviation Corps are entitled to the Qualification Pay, based on the
Qualification held by them, as under: -
(i) Master Aviation Instructor- Rs 500/-p:m.
(ii) Senior Aviation Instructor Class I-Rs 400/-p.m.
(iii) Senior Aviation Instructor Class II-Rs 280/-p.m.
(iv) Aviators holding Master Green-Card -Rs400/- p.m.
(v) Aviators holding Green Card Rs 280/- p.m.
The Army Aviators (Pilots) serving in the Army Aviation Corps are entitled to flying allowance. asunder:-
(a) Brig & above Rs 10,500/- (b) Maj to Col Rs 14.000/- (c) Capt Rs 11,000/- (d) Lt Rs 9,000/-
Allowances
In addition to pay, an officer at present receives the following allowances: .
(a) Dearness Allowances are admissible at the same rates and under the same conditions as are applicable to
the Civilian Gazetted Officers from time to time.
(b) A kit maintainance allowances ofRs 400/-p.m.
(c) Depending upon rank and area of posting, officer, posted ‘to Field Areas will be eligible for compensatory
Highly active Field’ Area Allowance at the rate of Rs 6,780/- to Rs 8,400/-p.m., Compensatory Field Area
Allowance at the rate of Rs 4,200/- toRs 5,200/-p.m. and Compensatory Modified Field Area Allowance at the
rate of Rs 1,600/- to Rs 2,000/-p.m.
(d) In addition to the Compensatory Field Area Allownace, officers posted to areas situated at a height of 9,000
ft and above are entitled for High Altitude Allowance in the range of Rs 1,060 pm to Rs 11,200 pm depending
upon rank of the officer and place of posting.
(e) Uniform allowance: Initial allowance for one time kit (@) Rs 14,000/- and Rs 3,000/- for every three years.
(f) Transport allowance: Transport allowance @ Rs 3.200/-DA thereon p.m. in A-I/A class cities and Rs-1,6000/
- +D.A. theron P.M at other places shall be admissible to officers
IMPORTANT

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
Pension, gratuity and casual pensionary award will be admissible in accordance with the rules in force from time to
time.
LEAVE: Leave will be admissible in accordance with the rules in force from time to time.
10. On commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual leave and 20 days casual leave LTC, free medical
service for self and family, canteen facilities and other concessions.
11. On being commissioned, all officers will be guided by the terms and conditions as given out by the Army Group
Insurance Scheme and as amended from time to time.
(a) Army Group Insurance Fund Provides Insurance cover of Rs. 15 Lac on payment of one time non-refundable
premium of Rs. 8200/- by cadets from the date of joining for pre-commission training i.e. for 3 years. Those who
are medically boarded out on account of disability, the disability cover provided for 100% disability will be Rs. 7.5
Lac reduced up to Rs. 1.5 Lac for 20 per cent disability. However, disability for less than 20 percent, an ex-gratia
of Rs. 20,000/- will be paid. There is no saving component under this scheme. Disability due to alcoholism and drug
addiction will not qualify for disability benefit and ex-gratia.
(b) The Gentlemen Cadets when in receipt of stipend of Rs. 8000/- per month are insured for Rs. 15 Lac. Those who
are medically boarded out of Academy on account of disability, the disability cover provided for 100 per cent
disability will be Rs. 7.5 Lac which is proportionately reduced up to Rs. 1.5 Lac for 20 per cent disability. However,
for less than 20 per cent disability an ex-gratia of Rs. 20,000/- will be paid. Disability due to alcoholism and drug
addiction will not qualify for disability benefit and ex-gratia. Premium at the rate of Rs. 1500/- will have to be paid
in advance on monthly basis by the Gentlemen Cadets to become member under the main AGI Scheme as
applicable to Regular Army Officers. Further increase in insurance and disability cover by Army Group Insurance
Fund is under active consideration.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
12. Please note that: (a) Application must be sent in the format given below. (b) Application must be accompanied
by attested (By a Gazetted Officer of the Central/State Govt/1st Class Magistrate etc.) Photocopies of 10th class
certificate for proof of date of birth and 10+2 certificate and marksheet for proof of education. Revised marksheets
issued by a Board/University after last date of receipt of application will not be accepted for this course, however
the same will be accepted for the subsequent course. (c) Attach one self addressed envelope 25 x 12 cms and Rs.
5/- value postal stamp affixed on it, alongwith application form. (d) Army Headquarters reserves the right to shortlist
applications and to fix cut off percentage of PCM marks without assigning any reason. No communication will be
entertained on this account. (e) Short listed candidates will be detailed to undergo SSB interview during Aug 2009
onwards. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of test conducted at SSB. All
