The Trophy Apartments are a selection of 115 one and two bedroom apartments and 6 three bedroom penthouses located within the North Stand at The Stadium, Highbury Square. This unique development of contemporary-style apartments and penthouses, is set behind the Art Deco faade of the original Arsenal Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club from 1913 - 2006. Retaining the essence of the original stadium,this exciting new development will preserve the historic East and West stand faades together with the marbled entrance hall and grand staircase. Frasers have long been interested in regenerative sites in London. Highbury is a perfect example of a change of use which creates a destination in its own right.
Gardens at Riverside Quarter
Riverside Quarter already comprises 200 sold and occupied apartments with ownership primarily by owner-occupiers. The development on the bank of The Thames also includes the Marco Polo Restaurant, Hudsons Convenience Store and 40,000 sqft of occupied office space. The final phase of Riverside Quarter, which will be known as Gardens at Riverside Quarter, will be launched in early 2008. The landmark scheme is a
unique collaboration between Carey Jones and MAKE Architects with Lovejoy London as the landscape architects. Gardens is a collection of 211 apartments and penthouses with communal roof gardens, 125,000 sqft of commercial space and a further leisure centre and pool. An additional 190 apartments have been allocated for affordable housing.
As developers we were aware of the opportunity to invest in the success of the project which has been fully borne out over time. We believe demand for these desirable apartments continues for the unique North Stand Trophy Apartments overlooking the garden which have never been seen on the open market. Since the decision to invest in Highbury, Frasers has expanded and following the acquisition of a national home builder, now has development sites across England and Scotland. These examples are a selection of our activity in London for 2008.
The former Sam Collins Music Hall on Islington Green, N1, is being transformed into a new Elizabethan style theatre and leisure destination and will include 70 apartments and townhouses in The Islington directly accessed from Islington Green. The development, which will be complete in early 2008, will comprise two five-storey buildings crowned by an impressive circular penthouse. The new Collins Theatre is built approximately 11 metres below ground level, above which the five storeys of contemporary apartments will be arranged in galleries overlooking a central glass covered atrium. The scheme will include two townhouses and commercial and retail space. The ground and basement floor restaurant and leisure areas will be the single largest in the Borough of Islington. Renowned innovative architect, Andrew Daws, a colleague of Piers Gough of CZWG Architects was the visionary mastermind behind the project, and awardwinning Amin Taha architects created the detailed drawings for the scheme.
