Project Rinaldi, A. (2009). Speak to me, melody. The National Center for Biotechnology Information. Retrieved February 25, 2013, from http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2799200/ This article is about the study of genetic predisposition towards music and musical ability, which is helpful to me and my project because if someone can be predisposed toward music, or if musical ability is hereditary, then other academic skills might be as well.

Templeton, M. (2012, December 14). Learning styles. Learning Styles. Retrieved March 1, 2013, from http://capone.mtsu.edu/studskl/hd/learn.html WebsiteCommentsLinkTagsParentheticalEditDelete This website focuses on the functions of the left and right hemispheres of the brain and how they affect learning styles. The site explains all the ways that the left side of the brain processes things differently from the right side and vice versa. Its very helpful to my project because left and right brained thinkers are good at different things, and they learn differently from each other, which my curriculum will have to cater to.

Vanderkam, L. (2008, November 4). Nature: Some people are naturally good at math. Gifted Exchange. Retrieved March 1, 2013, from http://giftedexchange.blogspot.com/2008/11/nature-some-people-are-naturallygood.html This article is about a natural predisposition for math, that even some young children seem to have. It is referred to as "number sense". Children who had this number sense tend to do better in math classes. This is great for my project because I have to weed out the people good at math from a young age.

This is about the Myers-Briggs type indicator, which is a personality test that judges 4 categories- orientation of focus, perceiving function, judging function, and orientation to life- to determine a person's temperament and personality type. I was interested in the kind of questions that help decide this and in the categories people can be grouped into since I have to compose a test to sort people into my academic categories.

Norton, J., & Services, W. (2011). "Getting to the End": Psychological Factors Influencing Research Higher Degree Completion. Journal Of The Australian & New Zealand Student Services Association, (38), 1-9. This article was one of the most interesting to me, though probably the most loosely related to my career. It talks about the psychological reasons for people finishing or not finishing grad school or college. I found this particularly interesting firstly because there are several signs of someone who will not finish their college education, whereas before I had thought it was random. It almost enables a teacher to pick out people who will not make it through. Also it is interesting because knowing the reasons and "symptoms" of a dropout, you can better avoid coming to that point.
