What can a friend do?

Whats the best thing you ever did for a friend? Today, we hear a Gospel reading about four men who did the best thing any of us could dothey helped their friend come closer to Jesus Christ.
In the story, a man who was paralyzed wanted to see Christ, so he could be healed. The problem was that he couldnt see Christ because there were so many people surrounding Him. Everybody knew that Jesus had the power to heal! So this mans friends made a hole in the roof, and they lowered their friend through it.
When Christ saw the faith of the four friends, He forgave the paralyzed man of his sins, and later He healed him. The man could walk again! Even though we probably wont ever be in this situation, we can still do what the friends did for their sick friend. They helped him see Jesus Christ. We can help our own friends see Christ too. But how? We can try to act like Him. By being kind to others. By being helpful. By not fighting. By being humble. By not gossiping. By showing love to everybody around us. Then, when our friends see us, they will be seeing Christ in us, too!
Can you find the two men helping their paralyzed friend see Christ?

St. Innocent of Alaska March 31

Did you know we have saints from our own country?
St. Innocent of Alaska was one of the first missionaries to America. He came from Russia, and he wanted to tell everybody in Alaska about Jesus Christ. One of the most amazing things about St. Innocent was how hard he worked to tell people about Christ. When he became a bishop, he traveled 14,850 miles by ship, kayak, dog-sled, and foot, just so he could preach to people. Thats like going from Washington, DC to Los Angeles, California five and a half times!
St. Innocent learned the native language of the people so that he could teach them. For several tribes, he translated the Bible and the Divine Liturgy into their own languages so they could understand! If you go to Alaska today, youll find many Orthodox churches, thanks especially to St. Innocents love and hard work for the Church.
