Abelo, Filipino, of Legal age and employed as a Teacher at Majayjay High School, Calatagan, Batangas, after having been sworn to, in accordance with law, do hereby depose and state that: 1. Two weeks ago, I received a notice from our school principal stating that I will be promoted as the new principal of our school immediately after his retirement on September 25, 2012. 2. The news immediately spread throughout the school and became the topic of conversation in the faculty room. 3. Last September 5, 2012, I was told by my co-teacher s Sheila Carandang and Ivy Ramos that many things were said against me by Mr. Jun Cuasay. The following were the words uttered by Mr. Ramos against me: a. I do not deserve to become the next Principal. b. That my credentials are not enough for me to become a Principal. c. That I just used people to push my promotions by bribing them. d. Worst, that I secretly have a relationship with Mr. John Fuentabella, our school principal. e. Moreover, he invented stories that Mr. John was the one who financed my studies when I took my PHd and in return I became his mistress. f. He even shared to several other teachers that I could not finish my studies had I not become a student whore when I was in College at La Consolacion. 4. According to Ms. Carandang and Ms. Ramos as well as my other co-teachers, those words were shared to them while they were in our faculty room, in a loud voice heard by everyone last Sept. 1, 2012 and on the following day, Sept. 2 in our school canteen while they were having lunch and in the presence of a lot of other students. I was in Manila that time, completing all the necessary requirements for my promotion.
5. Such allegations of Mr. Cuasay attacked my character as a person, ruined my dignity and caused me so much humiliation and mental anguish.

6. This prompted me to file a criminal complaint against Mr. Jun Cuasay for grave oral defamation. ART. 358 Slander Oral defamation shall be punished by arresto mayor in its maximum period to prison correccional in its minimum period if it is of a serious and insulting nature, otherwise, the pernalty shall be arresto menor or a fine not exceeding 200 pesos.
