History of Nokia

Nokia was established as a wood pulp mill by Fredrik Idestam in 1865. Finnish Rubber works acquired Nokia wood mills as well as Finnish cable works, which is a producer of telephone and telegraph cables. All the three companies were merged in 1967 to form the Nokia Group. In 1970 Nokia more involved in the telecommunications industry. In 1981 international cellular system, the Nordic Mobile Telephone network having been developed with the help of Nokia. Nokia acquires Mobira, which becomes the Nokia Mobile Phones division in 1982. The company delivered the first GSM network to Radkilinia , a Finnish company in 1991.In 1992, Nokia 1011 - a precursor for all Nokia's current GSM phones was introduced. In the 1990s near about 90 operators around the world used Nokia GSM services. The company focused on two core businesses - mobile phones and telecommunications networks. After that Nokia got big achievements into telecommunication sector.

Marketing Strategy
Nokias corporate responsibility strategy is to engage, improve and be accountable. Company performance in economic, environmental and social issues and measured regularly. They engage in stakeholder dialogue and form partnerships that serve the areas they want to improve. They continue focused and practical improvement programs relevant organizational or geographical areas as part of business operations. It divided into three parts: business planning, internal communications, training. They increase accountability to stakeholders through reporting, and informative internal and external communications activities. Company is responsible for decision making in all parts of their business. It is also the responsibility of the company about all the actions they will take. They believe focusing on issues which impact more and important, company will move company resources and be more proactive and also ensure the long term programs. There are three strategic assets that Nokia will invest in and prioritize: Brand and design.

Customer engagement and fulfillment. Technology and architecture.

Areas of focus
To achieve their business objective, their strategy focuses on these aspects: Mobile communications: The aim is to position Nokia as the preferred provider of products and solutions for mobile communications. They make leading highcapacity cellular networks, platforms and user applications for the mobile Internet, end-to-end broadband access solutions and Professional Mobile Radio systems. Personalized Technology: They build on their core competencies in various key areas, including design and product innovations, brand development, and effective demand/supply network management, to bring new product concepts and associated services to market. Driving Open Mobile Architecture: Nokias key commitment is to create a global and open mobile software and services market. Strengthening the Brand According to the surveys Nokia always integrated with well-designed, high quality and technologically advanced products. It also provides user friendly customer services. Expanding the Business: Its strategy is too focused in making partnerships and acquisitions and maintains its market position. They focus on global business opportunities.
