Jesus reminds his disciples that the Holy Spirit will be
sent to guide them to all truth. Jesus also pro-
claimed that everything the Father has is mine. The
Father, Son and Holy Spirit will lead us to the truth and guide us in
our lives. How do you see the work of the Most Holy Trinity in
your own life? In what ways do you need to be open to the Holy
Spirit guiding you to all truth?

Projected Year End Budget Shortfall
Our budgeted vs. actual expenses for the fiscal year ending June 30
are almost on target for the year. However, despite a good Match-
ing Gift Sunday weekend we still have shortfalls in projected in-
come. We are projecting a deficit of $20,000 that we will need to
meet our year-end expenses. Our Finance Committee will meet
Thursday, May 30
th
. Then, on Sunday, June 2nd, Fr. Ed will report
on how we plan to meet both our short term and long term budget-
ed needs. Please contact Fr. Ed (FrEdNowak@utcatholic.org) or
Elizabeth Lange (Elizabeth@utcatholic.org) to discuss ways that
you can help the financial needs of the UCC.
BLACK BAG COLLECTION NEXT SUNDAY
Our Black Bag Collection next Sunday will benefit Casa
Marianella, an emergency shelter serving immigrants and
refugees, originally started by the Diocese of
Austin. Casa Marianella sleeps twenty-one men
and seven women with children every night.
Under regular circumstances, a resident is given
one month to stay at the house, during which
time they become self-sufficient and find employment. The
residents primarily come from Latin America, the majority from
Mexico. For more information, visit CasaMarianella.org

CHOIR REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Sundays at 9:30am & 7:00pm Holy Spirit Chapel
Aron |I Dtocc)
A worn jrow or MrtyIrq Tcw
Following Pentecost Sunday, today, the Church
observes the Solemnity of the Most Holy
Trinity. The Solemnity is a wonderful
opportunity for Catholic Christians to reflect
upon the powerful work of the Holy Spirit
through Jesus' disciples. However, let us also
rejoice and celebrate that we, God's people, are
temples of the Holy Spirit today, empowered to serve and love as
the disciples did, sharing the love and grace we receive from the
triune God. In John's Gospel, it is written that the "Spirit of
truth...will guide [us] into all the truth..." (16:13). Let us
prayerfully contemplate the illuminating presence of the Trinity as
we go about our week.

Help with the religious ed program
Is God calling you to share your faith with our teenagers or to
teach the stories of our faith to children? If you are looking for a
new way to get involved at St. Austin, consider becoming a
catechist for children or youth in Religious Education. Its a great
opportunity to meet new people, learn more about our Catholic
faith, and serve our parish community. For more information
and to find out what it takes to be a catechist (By the way, we
LOVE experience, but its not required!), contact Marti Salas at
msalas@staustin.org.
Paulist Plunge!
Discernment retreat for men 18-35 at
Lake George in New York. Retreat
will be July 29 - August 3. For more
information, contact Fr. Larry Rice,
CSP, at lrice@paulist.org
Desert solitude June 6-12 at Cedarbrake
Desert Solitude is one of our most loved retreats. It is a week of
silence with an emphasis on centering prayer. You can come for 3,
4, or 6 days. There is daily Mass and spiritual direction is available.
The cost includes private rooms, meals, and spiritual direction. Pat
Stankus, who has been facilitating this retreat for 16 years, will be
the presenter. Cost varies, so to determine your cost, contact the
Cedarbrake Retreat Center at cedarbrake@austindiocese.org or
call 254-780-2436.
Isaac Hecker quote
The indwelling Divine Presence is the key
to the Catholic position, and they who
cannot perceive and appreciate this,
whatever may be their grasp of intellect or
the extent of their knowledge, will find
themselves baffled in attempting to explain
her existence and history (The Church and
the Age, 1887).
