STUDENT PROFILES

CANDICE BLEDSOE
Candice is a Chief Operating Officer of CEL Communications in Dallas, Texas, an education firm focused on promoting access to students. Ms. Bledsoe is also a leader of the Cutting Edge Youth Summit, which encourages and enhances minorities, girls, and socioeconomically deprived students to become effective student leaders. Candice also serves as an English Instructor in the Department of English at Tarrant Community College in Mansfield, Texas. A graduate of Baylor University (Bachelor of Arts in Communications), Ms. Bledsoe also earned a Master of Liberal Arts in African American Literature and a Certificate in Human Rights from Southern Methodist University.

FANG-PING HUANG
Fang-Ping is a Senior Counselor and Sales Manager for the International Education Expert Union Counseling Center in Hsinchu, Taiwan. As the manager of her office, Ms. Huang assists students pursuing overseas degrees by helping them identify and secure admission to universities abroad. Previously, Fang-Ping was an English Instructor in the School of Continuing Education at the Chinese Culture University. Ms. Huang is a graduate of the California State University, Long Beach (Bachelor of Arts) and she earned a Master of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. After completing her graduate program, she served as Project Manager at the Taiwan Trade Center in Miami, Florida before returning to Taiwan.

HOWARD HSIA
Howard is a Deputy Director of Culinary Arts at the Kai Ping Culinary School in Taipei, Taiwan. His work entails supervising the administrative and educational operations of the school with degree-based training in Western Cuisine, Chinese Cuisine, Pastry & Bakery, and the Service Management Department. Previously, he was Director of the Kai Ping Culinary Academy, a culinary certification program to non-degree seeking students. Mr. Hsia is a graduate of the University of Oregon (Bachelors of Sciences) and a dual graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Hotel Administration.

SULTAN KARMOSTAJI
Sultan is an Associate Provost for Student Support Services at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) overseeing student support services at the largest university in the UAE with over 19,000 students enrolled across 17 campuses. In addition, he works closely with the President and Provost of the university on a variety of strategic initiatives and is frequently called upon by the UAEs Minister of Education to troubleshoot student-related problems around the country. Prior to his current position, Sultan served as Chief Operating Officer of the Center of Excellence for Applied Research & Training, which is the commercial arm of the Higher Colleges of Technology. Both of Mr. Karmostajis previous degrees, a Bachelors in Business Information Technology and a Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, are from HCT.

KATERINA KULAGINA
Katerina is an Assistant Dean of the School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown University, where she oversees the Semester in Washington Program, international summer programs and works on the creation of new strategic partnerships with foreign governments and institutions in the U.S. and abroad. Previously, Ms. Kulagina served as Associate Director of Admissions for Executive Degree Programs at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown. She also worked in advancement and donor relations at Georgetown and the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She earned a Bachelor in Business Administration from Valdosta State University in Georgia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Most recently, Ms. Kulagina completed a Master of Arts in Teaching ESL and Bilingual Education at Georgetown. Ms. Kulagina is fluent in Russian and began her educational pursuit at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

MICHAEL LINDSAY
Michael is a Director of the Rio International School in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a native of Arizona and graduate of Arizona State University (Bachelors) and the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Masters of Business Administration). Michael built on a background in finance to become the Chief Financial Officer of the Rio International School. Shortly after his arrival, the Director left and Mr. Lindsay took over management of the school on an interim basis. Three years later, he continues to lead the school, which has 60 staff and 250 students from over 30 countries. Michael recently completed an online Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Northcentral University.

KIMBERLY LEWIS
Kimberly is the Lower School Principal at the Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she previously served as Lower School Dean of Faculty. In addition to leading her school, Ms. Lewis also has experience as a peer coach and co-instructor in the Summer Principals Academy at Columbia University Teachers College. Prior to her school leadership positions, Kimberly served as a teacher in several schools in New York and Pennsylvania. Ms. Lewis is a graduate of Howard University (Bachelor of Science in Psychology), Bank Street College of Education (Master of Arts in Special Education), and earned a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College.

JOSEPH NETTIKADEN
Joseph is a Chief Information Officer of Educational Services Overseas Ltd. In this capacity, he oversees information technology at a network of American and British international schools across the Mediterranean and Middle East regions from the corporate headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Previously, Mr. Nettikaden was Vice President of Information Technology at Fieldwork Inc., in Chicago, Illinois. Joseph is a graduate of Andrews University (Bachelor of Technology Digital Multimedia) and of Northwestern University (Master of Information Technology). He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University.

MARY ANNA NOVECK


Mary Anna served as Assistant Principal of the Will Rogers Learning Community in the SantaMonica-Malibu Unified School District. In her position she was responsible for developing, coordinating, and assessing instructional programs and initiating a school-wide S.T. E. M. education focus. Prior to her leadership position, Mary Anna was a classroom teacher at both McKinley Elementary School and Will Rogers. Ms. Noveck earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Stephens College and her Master of Arts in Education from the University of California Los Angeles.

MICHLE TURNER
Michle is a Chief Executive Officer of Metropolitan Radiology, Inc., a privately owned healthcare consulting corporation, focusing upon locum tenens radiology services. She is also Executive Director of the Black Alumni Association at the University of Southern California and in that capacity she represents 8,000 alumni. Previously, Ms. Turner was a Senior Management Consultant for the IBM Consulting Group. Michle earned her Bachelor of Science Business Administration at the University of Southern California and her Master of Business Administration at the University of California Los Angeles.

SHAMSIAH Z. K. TAJUDDIN
Shamsiah is a Lecturer at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Programme leader for the School Leadership Program (SLP). Though she continues to teach Masters of Education students at the university, Shamsiahs primary responsibility is running the SLP, a division of the UBDs Institute for Leadership, Innovation & Advancement. The SLP provides leadership training for principals in the country and now also trains school leaders in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Prior to her current position, Shamsiah was an Education Officer in the Ministry of Education teaching secondary school Geography. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the UBD and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Durham in the United Kingdom.

JENNIFER WEINMAN
Jennifer is a Deputy Managing Director of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus in Singapore. Previously, she served as Director of External Relations and Executive Education and as Manager of Graduate Programs at the same institution. Prior to her work in Singapore, Ms. Weinman was International Relations Manager for the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jenny earned her Bachelor of Arts in Russian and Russian Area Studies from Dickinson College and her Master of Philosophy in International Peace Studies from Trinity College at the University of Dublin. Jenny also completed a certificate from the Asia-Pacific Leadership Program at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
