For more than 40 years, the City of Medford has provided a summer recreation pro-
gram in the parks to keep youngsters active during summer vacation. The free
program is open to children ages 6-15 and is on a drop in basis.

The objective of the program is to provide recreation for youngsters in the commu-
nity through sports, games, physical activities, arts and crafts and more. Instructors,
one female and one male at each location, serve as role models to help instill the
values of leadership, acceptance and group cooperation.

The following is a list of locations that are staffed this year:
July 8, 2013 to August 16, 2013
Monday through Friday 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.

x Harris Park
x Hormel/McGlynn playground
x Barry Park

SIBSHOPS

Sibshops are pedal-to-the-metal celebrations of the many contributions made by brothers and sis-
ters of kids with special needs. Sibshops acknowledge that being the brother or sister of a person
with special needs is for some a good thing, others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in
between. They reflect a belief that brothers and sisters have much to offer one another - if they are
given a chance. Sibshops are a spirited mix of new games (designed to be unique, off-beat, and ap-
pealing to a wide ability range), new friends and discussion activities.
