      CHAPTER ONE

      FIRST KEY: REVELATION

      It is of paramount significance to unveil the divine truth that revelation is one of the powerful keys to unlocking the greater depths of the supernatural realm. The usual Greek word translated "revelation" is apokalupsis, which means "unveiling." A related New Testament word is "mystery" (musterion). There are approximately seven "mysteries categorized in the New Testament. A mystery in the Bible is a body of truth that was hidden in a previous age but later explained and made known by additional revelation. The mysteries disclosed in the New Testament are deep bodies of truth---but they can presently be understood clearly if one takes the time to examine them. Revelation is the mind of God revealed to humanity which enables Him to see beyond the confines of the dimensions of space, distamce, time and matter. It is knowledge beyond mere memorisation of scriptures but spiritual perception of nuggets of spiritual truths and divine insights emanating straight from the throne room of Heaven. It is the knowledge of God revealed to our spirits and is received by spiritually seeing, hearing and perceiving in the realm of the spirit. When God speaks directly to a man’s spirit and that man understands what was said, that activity is what the Bible calls revelation" knowledge. It is the mind of God revealed so that mankind could exercise dominion over time, space and matter. The truth is that God can only be known by revelation, hence to know God means to have a revelation of who God says He is, what He says He has, what He says He has done and what He says He can do. God's original design for man to live out of revelation knowledge. In the spirit realm, things are not taught but they are revelaed. God never meant men to study hard but just to be catapulted into a realm where things are supernaturally revelaed to them. It is worth unveiling the divine truth that knowledge that is received or transmitted through reason brings one under a curse, while knowledge that is received or transmitted through revelation brings one under a blessing.

      How does Revelation Come About?

      In the Old Testament, before Christ’s sacrifice, man’s spirit was marginalized by the law of sin and death; man was restricted and severely limited in his ability to clearly hear and recognize the voice of God. Therefore, God primarily spoke to His people through an intermediary such as a priest, a prophet, or some uniquely anointed individual. Deuteronomy 18:18 tells us, "And the LORD said.... I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee [referring to Moses], and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." Prophets were God’s mouthpiece to a spiritually dead world; they merely passed on what God told them to speak. But in the New covenant, the New Testament believer is afforded a more intimate and personal relationship with the LORD when his spirit is changed and "transformed by the washing of regeneration (Titus 3:5). Faith in Jesus’ sacrifice restores man’s spirit to its pristine state and enables him to personally receive the revelation knowledge" that the Holy Spirit is communicating. But Jesus taught a different message in John 16:12-14. He said that the Holy Spirit is still operating in the earth and that He is still revealing God’s Truth to those who are willing to hear His voice. "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear ("bastazo") - to take up, to carry or sustain) them now. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth.... He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you." The Amplified Bible says, But when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the Truth.... because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. On the day of Pentecost, a new dimension of the Holy Spirit’s ministry was released in the earth to reveal, declare, disclose, and transmit God’s truth to the people who are still hungry for "revelation" knowledge.

      Mental Knowledge Versus Revelation Knowledge.

      Abram and Sarai thought and reasoned together as to how they could bring forth the completion of the vision that God had given to them of blessing the earth through their seed. However, the result of their thoughts was Ishmael. Ishmael was rejected by God, and brought a curse for thousands of years to come (Genesis 16, 17). Moses knew in his heart that God had called him to be a deliverer of his people from Egyptian bondage. Using his own thoughts and efforts, he killed the first Egyptian he saw hurting an Israelite. God rejected this offering of reason and self-effort from Moses, and took him to the backside of the wilderness for 40 years, where He taught him to see vision and to hear His voice. Then God brought Moses back out of the wilderness as a Spirit-anointed leader who moved by revelation knowledge and not through reason. Paul was a man who had the best-reasoned religious education of his day. It was built squarely around sound theology about who God is and what God wanted of His people. However, this training missed the element of revelation knowledge. Then God entered into Pauls life with revelation knowledge on the Damascus road, and Paul followed up this initial experience with an additional three years of private tutoring by the Holy Spirit, alone in the Arabian Wilderness most likely at Mount Sinai (Galatians 1:17,18). Paul was trained first by reason, and then by revelation. Paul was trained in one of the best Bible schools of his day, using the Bible, reason and theology. Then he had to be totally retrained by God, using revelation knowledge, which came to him initially on the Damascus road, and then through three years in the Arabian wilderness (Gal. 1:16.18). Paul describes his first Bible school training as being from dogs and from evil workers. He equates it with manure.Paul then compared the two kinds of knowledge he had received first with reasoned, theological biblical understanding, and then with knowledge that came from revelation and intimacy and from the Spirit of God. He said that he counted his first rational education as dung (Philipians 3:1-10) when compared with the value of knowing (ginosko) God (having intimacy and revelation knowledge from God). Peter used reasoned knowledge and self-effort to defend Jesus by force when the soldiers came to take Jesus from Gethsemane. Jesus rebuked Peter, telling him to put the sword away and undoing the results of his efforts. Peter subsequently learned how to receive revelation knowledge and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

      Revelation knowledge is called "true knowledge." It is actually knowledge coming from the Spirit and thus is
