Scriptures to Pray for Knowing Holy Spirit

This is a partial list of Scriptures that help us get the Word of God inside us. The purpose is to know Holy Spirit Biblically. Our relationship with Him is based on Gods Word. Often the most helpful thing is to pray Gods Word. It is powerful. For example, with John 14:16, instead of just reading it, applying it to ourselves and saying it out loud, or praying it back to Him, can build faith and make us more confident of the truth. Example: John 14:16 says, And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. Thus, we can pray, Holy Spirit, You are my Advocate. This applies the truth and affirms its application to us individually, which is where the rubber meets the road. It helps us go forward in our relationship with Him. Here is another good example. Ephesians 3:16 says Holy Spirit gives us mighty inner strength. We pray, Holy Spirit, You give me mighty inner strength. This is the way to get the Word of God inside us and build our relationship with Holy Spirit Biblically. This is good because He is often the most mysterious person of the Trinity.

You Give Me Mighty Inner Strength I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources, He will give you mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:16

You Will Never Leave Us And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. John 14:16

The World Cannot Receive You He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isnt looking for him and doesnt recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. John 14:17

Jesus Breathed on The Disciples to Receive You Then he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22

You Can Be Lied to Then Peter said, Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. Acts 5:3

You Are the Spirit of Holiness And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised Him from the dead by means of the Spirit of Holiness. Romans 1:4

You Are a Foretaste of Future Glory And even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. Romans 8:23

You Are the Source of All Spiritual Gifts Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. 1 Corinthians 12:4

You Are the First Installment of Everything God is Going to Give Us He has commissioned us and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of everything He will give us. 2 Corinthians 1:22

Where You Are, There is Liberty Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

You Are Given to Us as a Pledge or Deposit to Guarantee Our Eternal Future Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 2 Corinthians 5:5

We Share in You --those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit-Hebrews 6:4

When We Preach, We Preach in Your Power Sent from Heaven And now the Good News has been announced by those who preached to you in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from Heaven. 1 Peter 1:12

You Are Poured Out on Us Generously because of What Jesus Christ Our Savior Did He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did. Titus 3:6

You Conceived Jesus as a Human Person For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:21

You Descended on Jesus As A Dove As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. Mark 1:10

David Spoke under Your Inspiration For David himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said,The Lord said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet. Mark 12:36

You Will Speak Instead of Us Then it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit Mark 13:11

You Filled John The Baptist for he [John The Baptist] will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. Luke 1:15

You Filled Jesus, Then Led Him into The Wilderness Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness Luke 4:1

Jesus Was Filled with Your Power Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirits power. Luke 4:14

You Filled Jesus with Joy At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Luke 10:21

You Will Teach Us What Needs to Be Said for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said. Luke 12:12

You Fill Us with Power from Heaven But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven. Luke 24:49

You Marked Jesus as The One Who Will Baptize with You I didnt know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. John 1:33

You Flow Out of Our Hearts Like Rivers of Living Water He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit John 7:38-39

Jesus Gave Instructions to His Disciples through You until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:2 You Prophesied about Judas through King David Brothers, he said, the Scriptures had to be fulfilled concerning Judas, who guided those who arrested Jesus. This was predicted long ago by the Holy Spirit, speaking through King David. Acts 1:16 You Filled Everyone in The Upper Room And Gave Them The Ability to Speak in Other Languages And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. Acts 2:4

God The Father Gave You to Jesus to Pour Out upon Us Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at Gods right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. Acts 2:33

You Filled Peter When He Gave His Defense after Healing The Lame Man at The Beautiful Gate Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers and elders of our people, 9 are we being questioned today because weve done a good deed for a crippled man? Acts 4:8

You Spoke through David And Wrote The Psalms (And The Rest of The Bible) you spoke long ago by the Holy Spirit through our ancestor David, your servant, saying, Why were the nations so angry? Why did they waste their time with futile plans?... Acts 4:25, quoting Psalm 2:1-2

The Believers Pray for Boldness And Are Filled with You, Then Preach with Great Boldness And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus. After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:29-31

You Speak to Us While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men are seeking you. Acts 10:19

You Free Us from the Power of Sin For the power of the life-giving Holy Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death. Romans 8:2

Jesus was Raised from the Dead by Your Power and You Live in Us The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. Romans 8:11; cf. Romans 1:4 (God powerfully raised Him from the dead by means of the Spirit of Holiness.)

You Give Resurrection Life to our Mortal Bodies and just as He raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 You Help Us in Our Distress and Pray for Us with Groanings that Cannot be Expressed in Words And Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we dont even know what we should pray for nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26

You Confirm whether What We Are Saying is True the Holy Spirit confirm what I am saying is true. Romans 9:1

You Are Responsible for Powerful Evangelism I did not use wise and persuasive speeches, but the Holy Spirit was powerful among you. 1 Corinthians 2:4

You Reveal to Us Gods Deep Secrets But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, and His Spirit searches out everything and shows us even Gods deep secrets. 1 Corinthians 2:10

You Dwell in Us Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you. 1 Corinthians 3:16

We Have Been Made Right with God Because of What the Lord Jesus Christ and You Have Done for Us You have been made right with God because of what the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God have done for you. 1 Corinthians 6:11

You Give Each of Us Special Abilities And now, dear brothers and sisters, I will write about the special abilities the Holy Spirit gives to each of us 1 Corinthians 12:1

Only You Make It Possible for Us to Say, Jesus is Lord No one speaking by the Spirit of God can curse Jesus, and no one is able to say, Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3

You Write on Us, Not as Tablets of Stone, but as Tablets of Flesh ..clearly you are a vessel of Christ ministered by us written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God not on tablets of stone but on the tablets of flesh that is of the heart. 2 Corinthians 3:3

You Give Life for a new covenant not of the letter but the Spirit for the letter kills but the Spirit gives life! 2 Corinthians 3:6

You Transform Us from Glory to Glory into The Image of The Lord But we all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

We Are Identified as Your Own and You Guarantee We Will Be Saved on The Day of Salvation Remember, He is the one who has identified you as His own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

We Receive the Message of Salvation with Joy from You So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought to you. 1 Thessalonians 1:6

You Live within Us and Help Us Guard What Has Been Entrusted To Us With the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard what has been entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:14

Jesus Went to the Cross with Your Power For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered Himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Hebrews 9:14

You Bring Gods Mercy to His People Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings Gods mercy to his people. Hebrews 10:29

You Make Us Holy God the Father chose you long ago, and the Spirit has made you holy. 1 Peter 1:2

You Come Down upon Us When We Are Insulted for Being a Christian Be happy if you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God will come upon you. 1 Peter 4:15

You Renew Us He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5

We Are Supposed to Make Disciples of All The Nations And Baptize Them in The Name of The Father, the Son and Your Name Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

We Are Supposed to Be Baptized Not Just with Water, But with You For John truly baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Acts 1:5

We Are to Think About Things That Please You Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. Romans 8:5

We Are Supposed to Desire The Special Abilities You Give Let love be your highest goal, but also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives, especially the gift of prophecy. 1 Corinthians 14:1

We Are Not to Bring Sorrow to You or Grieve You And do not bring sorrow to Gods Holy Spirit by the way you live. Ephesians 4:30

We Are to Let You Fill and Control Us Dont be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Ephesians 5:18

We Are to Take Your Sword, which Is The Word of God take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Ephesians 6:17

We Are to Pray at All Times in Your Power Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 6:18

We Are Not to Stifle or Quench You Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19

We Must Listen to You and Understand What You are Saying to the Churches Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying to the churches. Revelation 2:29
