FOOD in LAHORE

Lahore is actually the heart and hub of delicious and aromic food dishes; in fact Lahori Khabay attracts the people from all over the world. Lahore is immensely popular for its food from Mughalai to various Punjabi dishes.

Lahorities have an access not only a large number of Pakistani dishes and Punjabi specialties but it also has fast food restaurants, western cuisines and even Chinese, Indian and Thai. The following are the list f some renowned foods of lahore ,

Gosht karahi(chicken or mutton cooked with a spicy tomato-based gravy in a concave-shaped cooking vessel that resembles a wok) is a speciality of Lahore. Dal gosht (meat cooked with pulses) Murgh Cholay/Channay (chicken cooked with chickpeas) Murgh Musallam (chicken cooked with rice and dry fruits stuffed inside) seekh kababs (pashto-style minced meat rolls) Gol gappas Dahi bhallay (appetizers dipped in yoghurt) shawarma chiken tika (barbeque-style fried chicken pieces) Biryani Haleem Falooda Halwa pori - a breakfast speciality of Lahore nihari samosa kheer paya (dish) Lahori Fried Fish Chargha (Lahori-style roast chicken)

Lahore is renowned for having unique taste of its dishes, some of the important and popular food dishes and food points are Ustad Phajay kai paee,Asifs and Warriss Nehari,Fried fish at Sardar Machli,Bashir Darul Mahi,butt kai channy(which includes murgh channy and khoey walay channy).Rab RAkha chicken Tikka,Yousafs Falooda,Benazir Kulfa.Baba g ki Khulifi,Chammans ice-cream ,Karahi gosht at Lakshmi Chowk,Khalifas khataee biscuits and Butts samosas and Jalebi and so on has a great popularily

Cholay or Chany is a most popular and common dish of Punjab and Lahore people there enjoy chany in breakfast or lunch with the special naan,chapati and salad........

Nihari is also another specialty of Lahore and inf act Pakistan ,it is actually a spicy curry that is normally presented with tandoori roti ,naan lemon,ginger and green chili that also plays an important role to enhance its taste...

In Lahore the Karahi gosht of Lakshmi chowk has a great importance it offers both chicken and mutton Karahi with the excellent and unique taste,is is normally presented in special Karahi or bowl with the green fresh coriander and ginger and people enjoy it with dahi,raita and salad....

No thing can beat Lahori tikka and chargha in the world. They are mouth watering that people eat them even they are not starved. Its colour and spice on it are amazing with chat masla and lemon juice.

This is the most famous Punjabi dish and is very hygienic having lots of iron and protein. The Saag is made from mustard leaves and is very yummy. It is a simple dish and is full of nutrition. It is favorites of North Indian rural areas because this heavy food item provides the farmers the energy which is required. With mustard leaves the green chilies, ginger and spinach is also added. Many types of spices are also added like garam masala and coriander powder with salt. Tomatoes and carrots are also added. When its made it totally just leaves its smell in air tempting you just to dig a bite in it.

Another dish from Punjab which is very simple to make but may pamper your taste buds. The flavor is little spicy but it looks very good. Chole are the chick peas and to make the bhathure the yeast are first soaked in in water and a dough is made. And then they are fried till they become golden brown. Chhole are made in cooker and different spices are added with garlic. The chhole can be garnished with onions and lemons and chilies. The garam Masala , mint leaves and lemon is added to make its flavor nicer.

Fried fish is also another important specialty of Lahore which is overnight marinated with the special spices and is hen deep fried, Sardar's Machli in Lahore is famous all over the world. It has great taste that people eat kilos of it alone ,

Lahori people also love to eat certain snacks except continental food such as samosas, pakoray, kachori and so on, in order to enhance its taste they usually use chutney and other varieties of sauces... Butt sweets and bakers are famous in their taste of snacks. Samosas are also eaten with chaney chatni , and with nan and raita as well .

In Lahore chaman ice-cream is the oldest and popular ice-cream parlor that offers a lot of yummy ice-cream flavors to ice-cream lovers in Lahore and Karachi city.... It is immensely famous and still competitive ice-cream parlor....... It has proper sitting for their customers inside, theay come and enjoy. People with all age whether they are children, youngsters or elders are very fond of ice-cream as a sweet dish after their dinner.

The taste of Lahori jalebi is second one and famous all over the country its shiny orange color attracts and persuade the people to try it at least once

It is a popular cheese based sweet dish and is my personal choice. It is just like a dumpling. Its made from freshly curdled milk. Or with Khoya. the dough is fried at little temperature. They are soaked in sweet syrup. Flavored with rosewater. Sometimes the the gulab jamun is filled with saffron and pistachio nuts, and mishri. The golden colored gulab jamuns are delicious and mouth watering and tempts every mind. There are ready made packets too to make them. It is the best thing which a person with a sweet tooth can have. Better he should not be diet conscious.

Lahori falooda and especially chilled , yummy and creamy yousaf's falooda plays an important role in the killer hot summer of Lahore to beat the heat.........
