In pairs, look through a magazine for an advertisement to analyze and discuss the following: (text here means the

advertisement) Answer the following questions about its context: Who created the text? Who is the audience for the text? What existing knowledge would the audience have in relation to this text? What is being communicated and why? Discuss the texts use of visual rhetoric: Apply the terms weve just gone over (on your visual rhetoric glossary) to the advertisement. How are these concepts being used (or not used) in the text? Why do you think the creators of the text made the visual rhetoric choices that they did? The most important thing to consider here is the AUDIENCE. Why does the ad look the way it does? How is it trying to appeal to the relevant audience?
