The story is told of two prisoners in one small cell with no light except what came through a tiny window three feet above eye level. Both prisoners spend a great deal of time looking at that window, of course. One of them saw the bars obvious, ugly, metallic reminders of reality. From day to day he grew increasingly discouraged, bitter angry and hopeless. By contrast, the other prisoner looked through the window to the stars beyond. Hope welled up in that prisoner as he began to think of the possibility of starting a new life in freedom. The prisoners were looking at the same window, but one saw bars while the other saw stars. What was the difference? Vision! A vision is the God-given ability to see possible solutions to the everyday problems of life. It was vision that drove Moses out of the desert into the palace of Pharaoh. Vision allowed Nehemiah to stand up to the King and go back to the destroyed city of Jerusalem and begin to rebuild. Vision gave the disciples enough courage to unlock the door of the Upper Room and open their hearts to Gods dreams. What about you? Does your problem seem bigger than life, bigger than God himself? Matthew 19:26 says, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Are you seeing BARS or STARS?

No Other Gods By Kelly Minter

A quote or two from session 1: "could it be that we are serving our own gods, though we sit on the front row of church and serve the fruit tea? Do we claim the Bible as our source of truth while our real counselors come from movie and TV screens and magazines?" "...idols. Not carved images, but people, career paths, materialism, acceptance, ... God was getting my worship, but my gods were getting my service" "What do modern day idols look like? Why are we serving them? How do we make them? How do we destroy them? Which ones are we serving?" I'm excited to be starting this journey with you. We will start on
