May 29, 2013 Dear Fellow Member of the Stonewall Democratic Club, I am writing to request your support and

endorsement vote in the Democratic Primary to represent Manhattans District 5, the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island. I grew up with friend and family in the LGBTQ community and a mother who, as a psychologist, pioneered counseling for HIV-positive members of the LGBTQ community at the outset of the disease, and I have been participating in LGBTQ activism and the AIDS Walk in support of the Gay Mens Health Crisis since high school. As Chief of Staff to Assembly Member Bing, whom this club helped elect, it was an honor to work on passing the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) that our office carried. As a Civil Rights Attorney, I have a strong pro-rights record: Supporting marriage equality, adoption and human rights; Creating legislative transparency putting Albanys voting records online for all voters to see; Protecting the right to vote in New York and Nationally as Statewide Coordination Chair of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council; and much more. Our campaign is dedicated to getting progressive results and we are not waiting until Primary Day to deliver: Focusing on the LGBTQ community with a dedicated liaison on the campaign, founder of HIVster.com, a website for HIV-positive individuals; Pledge to work with Stonewall Democrats to file complaints in the event of unequal treatment for transgender adults and youth in shelters; Have a fully transparent campaign, where any can submit and vote on solutions to improve the city recognizing that transparency gives rise to the protection of rights to all.
