4.

1 Introduction

The discussion in this chapter is based on the findings of a survey conducted between March 1 until April 1 2013. A total number of 50 students and staff women of University Technology Malaysia participated in this survey. The findings will be divided into various sub-topic.

4.1 Background of the respondents

Pie chart show sowing respondents follow four category that is 18-24, 25-34, 35-44 and 45-54 years old. Total of the respondents 18 till 24 years old is 34 people that is 68%. For the 25-34 years old is 14 respondents that is 28% recorded. Abroad, respondents 35 till 44 and 45 till 54 years old show same number of respondent is 1 respondents that is 2%.

Figure 2 show they are the respondents in University Technology Malaysia. Local students show highest respondents in this survey that is 74%. Staff University Technology Malaysia second highest respondents in this survey that is 16%. International students show lower respondents in this survey that is 10% only.

Academic Qualification

Figure 3 shows the proportion of academic qualification of the respondents. Undergraduate students shows the highest respondents is 39 respondents that is 78%, .meanwhile postgraduate students is 11 was just 22%.

Figure 4 show distribution race of the respondents. Malay respondent show the highest of the respondents that is 86%. Chinese and India show the same total of the respondents that is 22%. However , others race show 10%.

Figure 5 show proportion marital status of the respondents. Majority of the respondents are single that is show 82%. Married respondents just show 18% or 9 respondents.

Figure 6 show weight ideal with height of the respondents. 58% respondents reveal their weight not ideal with the height. Abroad 42% of the respondents reveal their weight ideal with height.

Figure 7 show body mass index of the respondents. All of the respondents do not know about their body mass index.

4.2 Understanding about Heart Disease

Figure 8 show the proportion understanding about heart disease of the respondents. Base on the percentage of the pie chart, 54% of the respondents do not understanding about heart disease. Only 48% of the respondents understanding about heart disease. Over all of the respondents do not understanding about the heart disease especially in knowledge about disease which to be related with the heart disease. For the example, on question number five 66% of the respondents give answer that they do not know if people have a healthy heart it means that they will not develop heart disease. Actually, if people have a healthy heart it also can develop heart disease. We also can see on the question number six, 80% of the respondents give answer that heart disease has no relation with stroke. Actually, heart disease like coroner heart and infark miokard are the main factor of stroke.
