The Repository Creation Utility by default will run in interactive mode. We can also sun it in a silent mode with either an input file or with command line paramters. We need to write a script as shown in the below screen which contains connection string, database user name , database role and schemas we want and we have to run it In the script you can see that we run the command from the rcuHome/bin directory. For Oracle BI we need to add 2 component schemas, MDS and BIPLATFORM. We needed to provide the connection string for the database, the password for the sys user and the user passwords for the 2 new component schemas. There are no command line paramters to accept passwords. Instead we have created a text file, pwd.txt; it contains a line for each password required, so 3 lines, and passes these to the RCU tool as required. The first line must contain the sys password; there must then be a line providing the password for each schema, in the order that they are referenced in the command - I would recommend the password being the same for both schemas. Open a new txt document and give passwords sys and schemas and save it as pw.txt and copy it in /tmp directory

OBIEE 11G INSTALLATION

To install the Oracle BI Component we need to create a response file. You can create this by running through the interactive installation; just before you are due to click install you can save your responses and then choose not to go through with the current install. CREATING RESPONSE FILE OPEN A TEXT DOCUMENT AND TYPE THE FOLLOWING
