You should also show a sound understanding of how you come to understand people e.g. their needs and emotions. For this question you just need to show your understanding of WHAT the principles are and how these can help build relationships. Think of the basis of the different relationships you have with the different age groups including adults and how the principles apply equally to these too. Here you should give examples of the variety of different contexts and how you adapt communication. This could be examples of social or professional contexts but focus on how relationships can be established, the effects on different relationships as well as the way you communicate in relationships. Be sure to include your understanding of knowing the childs need in cases such as special needs when you need to aware of their individual needs. This question is not the same as 1c. For this question you have to be more specific in showing how you adapt your communication and consider more; The age of the child or young person = means look more into their age and stage of development, their competence in the way they communicate or if a lack of vocabulary. The context of the communication = means looking at whether it is a social or professional environment so give examples of how you adapt your communication here as well. Communication differences = means looking more into any difficulties in speech or having hearing problems, English as a second language, or any other interaction difficulties. Give examples of how you adapt your communication. For this question you just have to show your understanding in the different rules in communicating such as styles, the language used and the level of understanding etc. Be sure to highlight the main differences in adults than with children and young people.
