4.2.9 P 30 - Linearization Activation/De-activation Caution: Adjustment of this item constitutes recalibration if the measuring instrument. Do not adjust the linearization points unless a calibration standard is available to compare indicated and actual measured values. Once new values are input and accepted, the original factory settings are voided and cannot be recalled. This menu item is used to activate or de-activate the linearization. Linearization used during the factory calibration to correct a non-linear measured value input for a linear, more accurate display, analog output and switch points. The linearization process is shown graphically in figure 4.2. The ADI-K display/controller can linearize 8 points. The ADI-D can linearize 3 points. If linearization is activated, all available linearization points must be programmed. Linearization can be activated and deactivated freely without losing the preset linearization data. With linearization deactivated, the display unit assumes the measured input Vs. displayed output is linear. With linearization activated, correction points can be programmed into the display to correct the non-linear measured input value. Pressing changes the PN 30 value from 1 to 0 or vice versa (1= linearization activated; 0=linearization deactivated). Save a new value by pressing the PGM and buttons simultaneously. Press PGM and to move onward through the programming items.

User's Responsibility for Safety: KOBOLD manufactures a wide range of process sensors and technologies. While each of these technologies are designed to operate in a wide variety of applications, it is the user's responsibility to select a technology that is appropriate for the application, to install it properly, to perform tests of the installed system, and to maintain all components. The failure to do so could result in property damage or serious injury. Wiring and Electrical: Section 2.0, Specifications and Section 3.0, Electrical Connections, provide the voltage and current limitations and the wiring for the various sensor types. The sensor electrical ratings should never be exceeded. Electrical wiring of the sensor should be performed in accordance with all applicable national, state and local codes. Operating Temperature: Section 2.0, Specifications, provides the operating temperature limits for each model. Operation outside these limitations will cause damage to the unit and can potentially cause personal injury. Material Compatibility: Section 2.0, Specifications, provides the materials of construction for the display/controller. Make sure that the model which you have selected is chemically compatible with its operating environment. While the meter is liquid and spray resistant when installed properly, it is not designed to be immersed. Flammable, Explosive and Hazardous Applications: The ADI series is not an intrinsically safe or explosion proof design. They should not be used in installations in which an instrinsically safe or explosion proof design is required. Make a Fail-safe System: Design a fail-safe system that accommodates the possibility of device or power failure. In critical applications, KOBOLD recommends the use of redundant backup systems and alarms in addition to the primary system.
