Tomorrow evening, eight-year-old Jacob Schultz will take the stage at the BC Childrens Hospital Miracle Weekend telethon to present the fruit of his yearlong fundraising efforts. While the event starts at 7pm on Saturday evening on Global BC, Jacobs appearance is scheduled for sometime between 9-10pm that night. And hell be able to donate $12,500 thats $2,500 more than his initial goal! Huge congratulations to Jacob (and his family, and the community for assisting him in his efforts).

Multiple Canadian Fiddle Champion Scott Woods and his band are on a crossCanada tour and will play an incredible old time show, Swingin Fiddles, on Saturday, June 8, 7pm at the Civic Centre. The three fiddlers will play swing music, big band, country, gospel and plenty of old time fiddling. Theres also step dancing, trick fiddling and homespun humour for the whole family. Scott is a 2-time Canadian Open and Grand Master Fiddle Champion. He can channel Don Messer, and is affectionately known as The Flippin Fiddler for somersaulting without missing a beat! In return for hosting the Langley Concert Band last year, the NV Community Band will join their friends in Langley for a dinner, tour and a joint concert on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the Nicola Valley musicians will leave Langley early in the morning to catch a ferry to Victoria. They have been invited to perform at Government House by their former flute player, now Lt. Gov., Judy Guichon during the Royal Garden Party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Queens coronation. Then watch for them next Friday, June 7 for Friday With Friends, their annual concert in the banquet room of the Quilchena Hotel, at 7 pm.
