Apollo String Quartet Performance Contract

In this contract, made on 3rd of March 2013, Apollo String Quartet agrees to provide services as a string trio to Julie Ireland at Seamill Hydro, Seamill on the 8th of August 2014 over a total period of 3 hours, with exact timings tbc Julie Irelandagrees to pay the gross fee of 500,including a 100 non-refundable deposit,for this event. The following terms are understood and agreed to: (Please initial beside each agreement)
_____(1) Payment will be provided either as cleared funds no less than 7 days before your booking, or in cash on the day of your booking beforethe performance if agreed otherwise in writing. We do NOT accept payment by cheque or credit/debit card. Because of the delicate nature of these events, we would sincerely appreciate if we are not placed in the position to approach you about our payment. Please ensure you designate a person to this.

_____(2) Apollo string quartet will perform appropriate standard classical repertoire and wedding music, to be determined by them, unless the client makes a specific request for other pieces to be performed. The client must make any request for specific music at least thirty (30) days before the wedding date. Should you require special musical arrangements to be written for your event, it will be the clients responsibility to locate and deliver either a piano score of the music, or another suitable score from which we can make a string quartet arrangement. Original arrangements will be charged at 20 each. {2 included - AB}

____(3) Attire will be smart black (as in our publicity photos) or grey/white, unless otherwise requested. ____(4) It is understood that some string instruments are extremely valuable and/orirreversible to repair when exposed to certain weather conditions, such as rain, cold weather or direct sunlight. Therefore, if you would like us to play outside, please provide adequate protection (e.g. a gazebo or other shaded/covered area). We reserve the right to refuse to play outdoors if suitable provision is not made.

____(5) Three or four (dependant on ensemble size) straight-backed chairs without arms will be provided for the musicians, placed in the desired location of the event. ____(6) Subject to individual players availability, additional playing timebilled at the rate of 200 per hour for the quartet, or 150 per hour for trio, can be arranged on the day of your event. ____(7) During a typical 3-hour booking, the players will be afforded one 15-minute break which will be taken at a suitable point. During a wedding, this will occur midway through the drinks reception. For each hour thereafter, a further 10-minute break will be taken.

____(8) A deposit of 100 is due with this contract. This deposit is non-refundable, even if the date is changed from that detailed above, or the event cancelled for any reason including force majeure, fire, strike and/or extreme weather. We will not reserve any date until we receive cleared payment of your deposit. If Apollo String Quartet cancels this booking, then any paid deposit will be refunded in full.


____(9) If the photographed members of Apollo String Quartet are unable to play at any event for any reason, substitute musicians of an equal professional calibre will take their place for that event.

_____(10) During an engagement, Apollo String Quartet will happily play to accompany hymns or other religious music, but will not be expected to actively participate in any other non-musical parts of the ceremony. The musicians will be regarded as completely separate to the congregation. Please take time to communicate this to your priest/minister/celebrant.
