Puma Darts factory and head ofce is situated in Katikati, approximately 2 hours drive South East from Auckland in the Bay of Plenty. Katikati is known as a horticultural area where its main crops are Kiwifruit and Avocados. However it is also known as the mural town as the town features many murals portraying the stories of this area. Katikati is also growing as a niche-manufacturing hub.

For over 40 years Puma Darts have been proud to be a leading global developer producer and marketer of darts, dartboards and darting equipment. We are based in New Zealand at our own manufacturing facility. We also have manufacturing facilities in China and Taiwan we work closely with, which allows us to be a comprehensive supplier to the world dart market in both soft and steel tip darts. Puma Darts has a goal and commitment to offer its customers a full range of innovative darts and darting equipment made to the highest standard, and supplied with service and backup second to none. This approach has seen us as major sponsor of major tournaments around the globe. We export around the world and are always looking to develop new markets.

Our products are the choice of many of the worlds top dart players. This is reected in our Bandit boards use in the prestigious World Cup of Darts, which Puma Darts have sponsored 1999- 2011, and the granting of ofcial status for Puma Dart products, by national dart associations around the world. Puma Darts was founded in 1970 by John McCormick, his knowledge has been passed onto his son Peter McCormick. Upon Johns death in 2003, Peter assumed the position of Managing Director and Patron of the NZ Darts Council. Julie Carlson, Johns daughter joined the business as Marketing Director at that time. Puma Darts is still family owned.
Being an innovation led company, we developed the now famous Bandit bristle dartboard, which we believe to be the worlds nest bristle board. We have since developed our Bandit Plus board which delivers on performance and style with new features and environmental considerations. Our attention to quality has lead to our Bandit boards being officially recognised for Tournament and competition play by the World Dart Federation. Our success has been recognised by the New Zealand Government with a Global Export Commendation Award and our manufacturing facility has obtained ISO 9000: 2000 Quality Accreditation. In the process, a unique business culture has emerged that drives our employees to perform their absolute best.

THE BANDIT BOARD

Not all dartboards are created equally.
In 1992 we developed the original Bandit board at our factory in Katikati, New Zealand and in 2009 the Bandit Plus board. Having our own dedicated factory means we have control over the whole process and skilled board makers.
Top 10 things to look for when buying a dartboard

1. Manufacturing origin Puma Darts and Shot! Original Bandit and Bandit Plus dartboards are made in New Zealand at our factory base in Katikati allowing our dedicated teams to have input and control over our whole process at every step. 2. Sisal At Puma Darts we only use the finest sisal which is grown in Kenya to our own high specifications and conditioned ensuring not only the highest level of clarity in colour for high visibility but also purity for the highest strength possible.

Bladed bulls Bandit dartboards feature both a razor bladed micro inner and an outer bullseye to eliminate bounce outs while providing a
greater playing surface and a higher scoring potential.

Composite edging The entire Bandit dartboard range feature a unique composite edging made from recycled plastics not only allowing for ease of number ring rotation but provides a modern look compared to a standard dartboard. 9. Hanging Our specially designed wall bracket which is included with all Bandit range dartboards allows for ease of assembly and rotation without removing the dartboard.

Density level and depth We manufacture our boards to an optimal density compared to a standard dartboard to allow deeper dart penetration for less bounce outs and a higher scoring potential and our boards feature over 60% bristle ensuring a deep and durable playing surface with superior healing properties. 4. Surface At Puma Darts we sand our boards in multiple directions to give a finer playing surface which not only provides for a more

BRISTLE DARTBOARD
Puma Darts developed the Bandit and its innovative concept in board construction in a time when bristle boards had wire spiders and were attached with staples. The Bandit revolutionized dart board construction by incorporating thin, knife-edge steel bands embedded in the bristles for all divisions, leaving almost nothing to deect the dart. These bands also serve to strengthen the board, giving it better holding qualities and extending its life span. Interlocking the embedded bands makes each sector self-supporting and ensures that the coloured segments will always remain a full target area, unlike movable spiders which may not align perfectly, especially after a long period of use. Because the natural sisal bres are physically enclosed and supported by the network of steel bands, compaction and wear are reduced dramatically. This not only increases the life of the board by up to 20%, it provides greater playability.
No staples! Because there is nothing to attach, there is no need for staples. Normal bristle boards use as many as 65 staples, contributing to bounce outs.
Increased playing surface. By eliminating the spider and the staples, there is a signicant increase of 10% in the playing and scoring areas compared with conventional boards.
Yes, the number ring is still wire, so it can be rotated periodically. And Pumas number ring has been specially powder-coated white to increase visibility and reduce light reection.

Following the success with the Original Bandit, we now proudly present the Shot! Bandit Plus which takes our dartboards to the next level.
