Rigid couplings to be used in normal circumstances. Flexible coupling application to be approved by piping engineer. Flanges for use only when mating with equipment nozzles and flanged fire equipment and fire sprinkler isolation valves. For use with ASME flanges only. Victaulic gaskets and bolting integral with couplings. All grooves, tappings, and joints to surface to be repaired with application of galvanising paint. Victaulic couplings to be supplied colour coded fire system 'red'. Components specified as galvanised shall be galvanised inside and outside by hot dip process. Zinc coating shall be of a grade confirming to ASTM B6. Hot dip galvanising shall confirm to requirements of AS/NZS 4680. Material for Spectacle Blinds may be equivalent boiler plate or forged material. Where no direct branch fitting exists, a reducing tee and reducer shall be used. This pipe class is intended for use in tunnels, sprinkler systems and offshore plant areas. Flat face gasket for use with flat face flange adapter Style 741. Welded thredolets may be used as an alternative fitting to Victaulic Strapless outlets for sprinkler connections. The complete spool (with thredolets) is to be hot dip galvanized to AS 4680 after welding, fabrication and inspection.
