Reflective Writing Working in a team

Introduction
In this essay I will be presenting my experience of working in a team for the Business Communication Course project , in order to analyse my experience in terms of reasons for success and failure. This project helped me in developing teamwork essential skills like listening, questioning, respecting, sharing and participating.

My Role The project started with a discussion on Facebook, the social network where each of us have an account. The first step was choosing the subject of our presentation by picking it from the list that was given to us. Initially we chose a few number of subjects and we tried to find the one that is the most suitable for us. After a little negotiation we decided to choose the topic Developing business presentations because its one of our domains that we are interested in . My role in this activity was to make the content of the presentation and to do a little research on business presentations. The tasks were distributed on Facebook, each of us chose a task and we were all happy with what we had to do. The part with the introduction was distributed to Alexandra, the part regarding the content was distributed to me and the part with the conclusion was distributed to Nicoleta. I was pleased with my role because its not my first team project and I have experience in making research on different topics so I think this task was well suited for me. Nicoleta and Alexandra were also pleased with their roles, so the distribution of the tasks went quickly and smooth. Group Evaluation We worked very well as a team because every team member had a task that was suitable for him, so our time spent making the project was spent with pleasure. I think our group had more strengths than weaknesses. Starting with the strengths: we had a good level of communication, everyone took his responsibility seriously, we had a lot of ideas for the project. The execution of the tasks was effective because each of us had specific tasks so we didnt interfere in each others tasks. One of our weaknesses was spending too much

time on the project and we realized that we have to much information, so we had to make a shorter presentation and focus only on the main points. Critical Self-reflection One of my main important strengths was that I like reading articles in English, and it was very easy to search for materials that helped with our project. Another strength is that I like motivating my colleagues in order to do our jobs efficiently. One of my weaknesses is that I am rarely pleased with my first results and often try to improve things even if they are already good and this means wasting time. If I had the opportunity I would spend less time on research and more time on making my speech. One thing that I have learned from this project is that its equally important to know what to say and to know how you say it so its important to deliver a god speech. For strengthening my chances of success in a future workgroup I think I I should be more confident with my ideas and try to improve my time management skills. Peer Evaluation What I have learned from my group members is that activities like our projects can be fun and realaxing. One important thing when you work in a team is not to be stressed and to feel that you are a part of that group and I think we all felt that. I learned a lot of good thing from my team. Future Actions
This project helped me in developing teamwork essential skills like listening, questioning, respecting, sharing and participating. All these skills can be applied in my area of work (programming), because all the projects that I have are made in teams, so I must know what teamwork involves. One of my goals is to improve my communication skills and to learn how to control my emotions and fear of failing when I make a public speech.

Feedback comment This semester, due to the fact that we had to work for our licenses , I wasnt able to come at all the courses but last semester I did. I liked the fact that we could actively participate to the courses and you helped me improve my business communication knowledge. The courses were relaxing and I think I would have come more often if I hadnt such a busy timetable.
