Strife - Teaser Trailer Script Third/Final Draft 1. EXT.

FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING The sound of the wind fades in, blowing quietly, as bits of old grass on the field flicker gently in the breeze. The scenery is flat but picturesque. Faint music echoes and blends in with the sound of the wind when five pairs of feet walk through the soil. (The music will be a backing track that only the audience can hear - non diegetic sound). The group of young people, who the feet belong to, can be seen from afar walking down the field. They appear to be good friends as their body language suggests camaraderie. The wind and music, which are still faint in the background, trail off slightly. The group are closer now, with the music alone, loud and upfront. The five friends are seen laughing and joking around whilst walking. KYLE has his chin slightly raised in an over confident manner, drinking a beer. OLI looks straight ahead whilst smoking a cigarette. SHAUN puts his arm around BETH who rolls her eyes and smiles slightly as she drinks from a beer bottle. RYAN walks with a cigarette in hand. The friends don't have a destination to go to and their evening has been uneventful at their local pub, but this does not seem to bother them.

EXT. CITY STREET - NIGHT Suddenly, BETH is running down an empty street lit by the orange glow of the street lamps. She is in panic and looks back over her shoulder, as if being chased or followed. Blood and another strange, dark substance stain her face.

EXT. FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING Back on the field, BETH is looking over her shoulder with a clean face; the look is casual and aimless. She then turns back to face straight ahead, giving a playful nudge to RYAN, who in turn smiles and lights up another cigarette with a lighter he pulls from his pocket.

EXT. WAREHOUSE BACK LOT/CAR PARK - NIGHT RYAN can be seen from a distance covering a car with a clear liquid in a shady and empty back lot/car park. He makes a trail of the liquid further back where he stands still for a moment. There is movement in the car as the headlights flash, and the faded sound of a car horn (diegetic sound) surfaces through the music. RYAN then takes a lighter from his pocket; the same dark substance that covered BETH'S face now covers RYAN'S hands and neck. He lights up a cigarette, to then release it from his grip.

EXT. FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING RYAN blows smoke towards, but not directly at, the camera with a grin on his face.

OLI pushes KYLE over for a laugh and the two fall and proceed in having a play fight. SHAUN, BETH and RYAN all stop, laughing and pointing at the boys rolling around on the floor. 6. EXT. SECLUDED WOOD - MID EVENING/NIGHT The wood is dark and dank with closely grown trees surrounding a clearing. OLI and KYLE are on the floor fighting, but there is deep aggression and anger on their faces as they hurl punches at each other over and over. The fight is much more serious and hostile. OLI, with blood, dirt and the dark substance on his face, pins KYLE and begins to strangle him. OLI'S face lights up with a crazed enjoyment. KYLE reaches his bloodied hand in the air, as if reaching for someone to grab it. 7. EXT. FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING OLI grabs KYLE'S clean hand which is in the air to pull him to his feet. Both brush off dirt from their clothes and pat each other on the back, smiling. BETH takes SHAUN'S arm off her shoulder, shaking her head whilst smiling. SHAUN laughs and shrugs at BETH. A low humming (diegetic sound) begins to fade in. 8. EXT. BACKGARDEN OF A HOUSE - LATE EVENING Curtains blow in the wind as a body lies slumped over a doorstop. The body is BETH'S, with traces of blood on the floor. SHAUN can be seen in the distance with a gun in his hands.

A garden table and chairs have been upturned, and spread across the patio floor. Hand prints of the dark substance and blood can be seen smudged on the outdoor furniture. Some kind of struggle has taken place. SHAUN proceeds to stand there frozen and breathing heavily. He puts the gun to his head. 9. EXT. FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING SHAUN glances to KYLE as he makes a gun sign at his own head, as if to say "my bad" to hide his embarrassment that BETH rejected his advances. The friends are still joking about. SHAUN bends his thumb with his mock "hand" gun to pretend shooting himself, a gun shot goes off (nondiegetic sound). (Inter-cut scenes become quickened) 10. EXT. FARM FIELD - EARLY EVENING The low humming has become significantly louder as the friends finally come to a halt on the farm field; they have spotted something in the distance. An object covered in a dark, unpleasant substance can be seen poking out from disturbed soil. The substance has a toxic aura about it, and looks very unnatural. As the others stand back, BETH approaches the object. She covers his nose and mouth with his arm, as the object reeks of a foul odour. She then crouches down to touch the object, to only cover her hands in the dreadful substance. Straightening

herself back up to stand, staggering slightly, BETH looks at the camera with an empty, frightening stare. She smirks. END.
