Importance of observing a class

Observing a class is one of the most contributing information that a future English teacher can obtain. Having the advantage of observing a real class can provide great resources that can be useful. One of the reasons why class observation is a great tool, is because it gives many experiences that can only be provided by observing how real classroom behaviors a produced. Observing how students behave in a real classroom can provide a variety of important information that can be used to analyze in a greater extent the way a class is managed. There are many aspects that compose a classroom, to start off students take information in various ways according to each of their educational needs, in order for those learners to keep on absorbing information there must be research done in order to classify, select, and create new information and other strategies that can increase the knowledge of the students. Teachers also can benefit from class observation; for example teachers that might be at a the starting point of their careers can obtain feedback from this observations, and it can be used to modify some aspects that can be improved, some of those aspects can be the methodology, strategies, or even the plan that is being used in the class. Using the feedback that is provided by the results of observations can improve many classrooms practice and instructions. There have been many studies, for example, that have found gender imbalances in teachers' interaction patterns in the classroom. Jere Brophy and Tom Good's 1974 review of the research found that consistent sex-related differences exist in the classroom in teachers' interaction patterns. Boys, for example, typically have been found to receive more praise and criticism in the classroom than girls. Having the result from this studies we are able to see how there are some aspects that influence the classrooms deliverance, and with that said there can be some arrangements in order to improve those situations. Observing a class has many advantages, as mentioned before, a premature teacher can learn many assets from other experienced teachers that can contribute to other teachers, and also teachers can review what qualities they find useful or maybe the ones that they might not find useful. By observing different situational classrooms where we might find different learning techniques and attitudes that can play a vital role in how the classrooms environment, we can obtain a

variety of strategies that can be used to enhance the teaching abilities. One of the traditional problems procrastinating teachers' classroom instruction has been the lack of valid and accurate information that teachers could use in order to facilitate their professional growth. Many teachers, even experienced ones, are not always aware of the nature of their interactions with individual students. Consequently, one of the most important purposes of systematic classroom observation is to improve teachers' classrooms instruction. This researches have proven that with the help of class observation many aspects that can be worked on by using some of the feedback that is provided.

Comment: I believe that observing a class can provide much useful information that can improve teaching techniques and also attitudes; I believe that we can absorb as many abilities by observing a real classroom where students are being their real selves and that is the best way of coming close to a real experience in a class. Also I think that we can grow tremendously from the positive feedback that is provided by being observed, having the opportunity to change or modify our personal strategies that we might consider appropriate, but that might need other elements.
