Chapter I Canon & Covenant

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

1. Arise! achieve perfect clarity, O thou slumbering titan: Atheosis is the reward hither homeward! Thine, O Man, is the gnosis of Mastery; thine is the ecstasy of sanctified carnality; thine is the glory of Eternity in every moment of suffering or passion; and thine is the knowledge of all by the Baptism of Wisdom in the power of consecrated lust. 2. O Great Whore: Abrahadabra! thrown wide are the gates of the Abyss: there is Attainment. O Man! Ablanathalba! we are one: we are none. Aum. Amn. Aha. 3. This is the word of the Master in the hand of the apostle of dead seed, the Spirit that wandereth the wastes & wadeth among wraiths: it is the unveiling of the concealed word, the whispered word of the secret shade, delivered unto that apostle upon the wings of angels of light fallen upon the voluptuous body of Night, the succubi of the Great Whore at lust with the creeping things of the lofty field of spirit. Secreted from out of the depths of Amennti, by the ministers of the Ape of Heaven. 4. The bowels of the Master are darkened; the gateway is shut up; the shells are all over thee, stirred up in the whirling love-feast; but there is no god therein: for thou art immaculate, and none. First, the word is concealed: it is as a babe in an egg, growing in Silence unto Strength, wherewith it cometh forth. Then, all is revealed; and there is a breaking-forth of light in a new Scarlet Dawn. 5. This is the word of Strength and of Sight: of Lust and of Light: the spirit that liveth and the sun that shineth bright; the holy book of the master will. Do; do not wail. Hail! thou art the Master amidst the sundered veil. 6. The canon of the temple of Man; and the holy covenant of the master will. The unveiling of the sacerdotal rule of the Law, by the wisdom of the Master, unto the Atheologians; it is the law of the secret temple. The word of the law is will; and the holy law of the temple is love. There is a word of the time; and there is a word of the rituals, the secret Hierophantic word revealed.

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

7. This is the gospel of Man, not of any angel or jinn: there is no god but genius; and there is no guardian angel to spare thee: there is only the master will. This is the gnosis of the Masterful Mind, self-shining & sublime: here is the glad word of the greatness of Man. To the initiate of the outer fold it is both angel and beast; to the adept of the inner fold it is divine will; to the master it is the voice; to the magus it is unity with the divine; and to the highest it is self, unlimited & unbothered, no matter the limit or the bother; but it is not at all. 8. There is a new Hierophantic formula, the word of the lord of Eternity in the flesh: it is nwyrt; and it hath the number of a Man. It is the beast seated upon the throne of God; and it is the lingam, or the tree of Heaven; and it is the wheel that crushes all in the supreme union of holy epiphany; but it is no god. 9. The word of man is devotion, and his is the worship of beauty; and the word of woman is power, and hers is the lust of the Snake. Out of the womb of God draweth forth the doublestream of power, in the issue of blood and seed: it is to purify and to vivify. It is the anointing of Man, in the basilica of the Beast, at the worship of the lingam of the double-power of lust & light; the manifestation of the regenerating agent of the virile force: theirs is the liaison of the water-bearer and the lion, the chrism of the sacred Stone in the holy Kaaba of Man & beast. And the holy union conferreth AQEOS. 10. Pleasure is your power: potentize with furious utterances; with charms and with fetishes; with all strange fascinations that stir thee or still thee: Aum! lift the priapic flame to fill thee! it shall consume thee. 11. This is the covenant of the holy spirit of flame, the door to the deep things of Man & beast. The master will, the divinity of man, the perfect union of contraries, is the self-glittering One: it is the current of the king; it is above thee and in thee. Its divinity is thine to unravel; its gnosis is double: holy ghost with all carnal bliss, the mystic flame and the magic Serpent's kiss! 12. The utterances of lust are the holiest of all holy things: they are the invocation of the Siva lingam of pure will. 13. Behold the wondrous secrets of its appearance! see and strike at the worship of Man! achieve the clarity of the servant of Silence. It cometh from the power of the lust of Woman & Man. Ye are gods! and ye are of the highest: witness and contemplate the unveiling of the secret law; then all over thee comest the thundering elements of the master will!

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

14. Ours is the holy lust of Man; genius is our lord as ecstasy our spirit; and enlightened contemplation is the central rite of the acts of the outermost temple. Lurk: receive thee first the teaching and second the epiphany of the mysteries of the Master. Withdraw: ponder in perfect mind, in the strength of will without oppression of emotion; and meditate in the sanctity of thy shrine, opening the mind to the hidden light in the trance of secret darkness. Upon them: then behold! the unveiling of the masterful will of God in Man. 15. There is also another meaning, for the adepts of the secret temple. Lurk: charge slowly, with delicacy and worship. Withdraw: retreat, with pause. Upon them: rage, & conquer. 16. There is a silvery veil leading to the Chapel of the Abominations of the Scarlet Whore. Enter the outer fellowship of the lovely Star: ascend the body of the beast. The Stone of the Revealing of the Master is the lingam of the secret temple: it is the Stone of the Wise. Let it be anointed in your worship: it bringeth forth the Elixir of Life upon thee, anointing thee in its chrismation; into the cup of water and wine, magical seed and mystical blood; and lastly, all over thy spirit, in the terrible shuddering of profound union, at the approach of the third holy veil of the temple of Man. 17. There is a golden veil leading to the Vault of the Adepts of Atheosis. Enter the fold of the lust of Man: convoke with thy partners in the beds of flying things or creeping things, while worshipping with thy fetishes; or worship Thyself in solitude instead, summoning the elements of the Beast or of its Bride (as thou tendest to the one or unto the other), in the rite of the foundation of the Beast, at the summit of the mountain called Abiegnus, upon the altar of no god, warmed at dawn in the rays of the vernal or autumnal sun, or cooled at night in the soft glow of the full moon: for the Great Whore is your refuge as the Great Beast your light; and the clarity of divinity is at your will. 18. There is a third veil leading to the Holy Order of the master will: the veil of Infinite Space & Infinite Stars: and there are dead souls in that place, their mundane awareness dissolved for ever in the cup of Holy Whoredom: they are the bodhisattvas of the Beast, and the mahatmas of the mystery of mysteries. Their gross will is consumed in the fires of the belly of Hell, and is no more; and they are manifest anew with strength of will & talent. These are our saints of the Scarlet Mysteries that comest out of the hidden assembly: theirs is understanding, wisdom, and Very Self of Very Self - impersonal and unrestricted by their momentary condition, theirs is Legius. For they are the masters of the will; nothing shall assuage them or absolve them, and no god is with them;but the knowledge of the highest is theirs, and the bed of God is their pleasure.

10

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

19. The smoke of your orison manifests the presence of the Master beyond the veil of the sanctuary of the spirit of sense & rapture. It is most holy, and it maketh holy; and thy holy oil maketh a source of holiness in whatsoever it anointeth. But ye hast the unction from the Serpent, and ye knowest all things. 20. Indulge your bliss, whatever it is, in your temple of Man: after the invocation, the teaching, the epiklesis, and the love-feast. Also indulge all thy lustier desires at each of your celebrations of sanctified pleasure, whether sanctoral or seasonal. 21. The temple is also double: for it is divided into two chambers by the veil of Paroketh, which is black, with gold tassels; it is emblazoned with the Seven Pointed Star in red & black on white. Over the first door is the veil of Masak, which is black. The first place is the Vault of Adepts, to be used for meetings and pronouncements, as well as for exoteric feasts and celebrations; it is dominated by the shrine of Man, dedicated to the prophets & the oracles. The other place is utterly holy: for it is the Sanctum of the Master. It is the secret temple; and it is the place of the altar of the flesh of uttermost sanctity of bliss, enshrining the phallic Stone & the holy Graal of the Whore; and no god is with ye. 22. The cycle of the double-word is shadowed forth: the time of the Vulture-Queen that feasteth on the member of the corpse of God, to draw forth and consume its spectral force; the era of Woman at lust upon the Master: verily, God is dead! the Master lives; and Atheosis is made easy by the opening of the Abyss at the utterance of the hidden word of power. All shall be revealed. 23. The master will is your lord; and its terrestrial paraclete is manifest at rule, at work, at all the joy; for it is the impersonal divinity of liberty & bliss that stands opposed to the bondage of appeasement. His is happiness & merriment, not sacrifice & abstinence! His is love for the worthy, and contempt for the foolish & the foul. And yours is the magic of ingenuity & the manifold joy of the flesh, not impossible dreams & silly superstitions. 24. All these orgia of the secret temple work to summon the spirit of lust: to invoke the inspiration of art & of wisdom; to relieve stress and focus the subtle forces of body & mind. Also these give strength of will & might in battle: for they are of the master will, and every way perfect. Magic smiteth not the flesh of thine enemy; but it empowereth thee to fight him more strenuously, with keener insight & intuition. We are for the lifting of spirits, the strengthening of resolve, and the cultivation of hidden ability, not for immaterial hexation, with curses cast by
11

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

cowards who - out of abject terror behind the barred doors of catacombs & cubbyholes dare not fight but pretend! Ours is not the strategy of the simple-minded sulk; but the achievement of maximum potential is our Great Work. 25. Yet the fist alone availeth thee not, but cunning and beauty combine to create a greater power by far. Dominance through subtlety and delicate strength is ours. But above all things is love: not passing sentiment or momentary obsession, but passionate sensuality and timeless joy! 26. In the outermost temple of the shrine of Man, therefore, do ye minister the sacraments of festive indulgence, dispense joyous entertainment, and commemorate the clerics & kings of the master culture. It is also the headquarters of your ministry of blessd wickedness. Rejoice therefore! dance; propagate the power of lust among the many, for the pleasure of the most worthy, the beautiful & the wise. Worship the flesh! let there be no end of overwrought celebration; for there is no indulgence too excessive for the much-deserving kings of the earth! 27. Every delight is holy, if it deters not the righteous will of another: every king hath the right to unhindered expression of sovereign will: permit no tyrant to bully thee; allow no beguiling slaver to ensnare thee. True love is your engine, and pure will is the fuel thereof. Masterful indulgence is our way: savage strength, with wisdom and forethought, coupled with purple passion and constructive contempt for the sorrowful & the slavish. 28. The secret temple is the seraglio of the Master: its altar is a vast bed of desirable flesh amidst sumptuous sheets; its presence is invoked with continuous music and the burning of holy incense; and its communion is known in the obeah of the lascivious lord & his lovely Concubine. Any adept may enter the temple and partake in these orgia, if he will, though he officiateth not. The masters of the temple are the ministers of this den of the secret Serpent: they achieve communion with that in the union of spirit & flesh, as shewn in the idol of art, and by drinking the mystical blood of the womb of the Whore, signified by the lunar cup of wine and water, and by eating the host of holy will. The menses of the Water-bearer, in the form of the wine, conveyeth wisdom: that woman hath the greatest power of lust around her time; but it also teacheth that the attainment of the master will, and the nascency of the true self - or the knowledge of the Starry Mind - is the manifestation of the union of the Master & the Holy Whore in the current of Baphe-Met-Re. Count also its name, for it is the correct spelling: and it sheweth forth the number of the king.

12

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

29. Know well and master the wanga of the temple. There are mantras and spells, songs and invocations; but there are also primitive utterances for the bed of iniquities. Let vulgarity be lifted up as a perfume of great savour unto the Master. 30. Above all is the mantram of the lofty will:

A ka dua tuf ur biu bi a'a chefu dudu nur af an nuteru O lofty Will, Abide with me! Supreme & Terrible Will, The stars fall before Thee: I, I invoke Thee!

31. And the Acclamation of thy divinity: Kha her nest fur Ar watu n Bi n Khu n Khabs au aper ku Lofty Sun in the lovely Moon, Make way for my Divinity! Also for my Body of Light, And for my Body of Night, That I be armed with carnal tri-unity, To ignite the flames of Eternity!

13

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

32. There is the mantram of the Master, recited repeatedly to the striking of the bell: Hadit Nuteru a'a neb ta pet Aum Ha O Master of Divinity! lord of the heavens of Infinity! Aum Ha!

33. And the invocation of Babalon, the Whore of Whores & Queen of Heaven on earth, recited with the burning of incense: Hati a n mut a sep sen Hati a n unn a her tep to M ha r a m met a M kesef r a m zazanetu M rek r a m bah Nuter a'a Neb Amennti As sam n a to pet Am urt A'at pet uah a Tep to

O heart of the Whore! O heart of the Whore! O lust of God most holy! Refined & utterly lovely! Give us thy kisses here & hereafter! Deny us not the will of the Master, Our dread begetter in the West: For we have merged one and another on earth In the egg of the angel's nest! Ascended unto glory, we flourish On thy breast!

14

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

34. And the Affirmation of Holy Will, recited prior to the sacrament of chrismation: A ua dod pesd ma A'ah Per asar Ankh-af-na-khonsu Ami achtu ketiu reruti Uhau a amu khu Un n f duat As asar Ankh-af-na-khonsu Per m her Ar art merer af nebether tep to Ami ankhu O lofty Sun in the lovely Moon! Mystically-reborn I go forth on Among the legions far beyond! O Utterer of the Holy Sperm! Open the way of Hell's own worm! Lo! the lofty Sun in the lovely Moon Returns anew, its Life receiving, To do what it will Among the legions of the living.

35. Then the great Nuteru Kua, the mantram of the master will, recited with the assumption of the form of the Hierophant at the strike of the pleasure gong:

Ba-neb-Tet kua Ba-neb-Tet kua Men-Tet Nuteru kua Ab kua Nuteru kua Nuteru Khu kua Nuteru user kua Ba kua Baphomet! Baphomet! Holy Goat of Mendes!
15

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

Mine is godless sanctity! Mine, the mind of Eternity! Mine, the light of Divinity! Mine, the strength of Infinity! Mine, the Ascended Soul of God & beast!

36. And the credo of holy carnal wisdom:

Exaltetur Mete germinans stirps nostra ego et septem suere tu renegans reditus wrwktos sis In unlimited Wisdom I am renewed: That maketh all things to bud & to bloom; And it is my root, the one and the seven: So I abjure faith & the sacrifice of doom For its holy carnal heaven.

37. The apostolic seat is established with wonders of words and signs; but the blind sees not the worth of their numbers. He shall lead not the leaderless; but the wise shall share in his light. It is rightly established: whoso denies it is but a liar. Whoso sees not the sign, sees not at all in the clear light; whoso hears not the voice, hears not but the cacophony of chaos. The law is for man, not man for the law: there is no command to follow beyond 'Do what thou wilt'; but the kings among the kings shall be refined in the rage of their rapture, delicate in the fury of their love, and subtle in the genius of joyful art. 38. The apostle, as any minister of the temple, shall be neither pampered nor relieved: his way is not made easy; and he is not released from his duty; he is not an intercessor, nor is he infallible. To every man and every woman an imminent divinity, and to all divinity a dissolution into Infinity. The apostolic work is to expound the darkly-skried word; to give the mantras and spells; to teach the obeah and the wanga, the acts and utterances of the secret temple; and to push the Order of the master will upon earth, for the celebration of its holy carnal spirit, and for the remembrance of its masters.

16

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

39. His staff shall be lifted up by the chosen one of Apep: his shall be the baptism of wealth at the Golden Twilight of Truth. He shall soar in a galleon of gold unto the seas of the selfglittering sun; he shall smite the gods of heaven, and they shall sink into an Abyss for ever. And that golden galleon shall be the lone ark upon black waters unto a Scarlet Dawn. 40. Mine initiates are called the Sons of Man: theirs is the way of Holy Theoria: enlightened contemplation in the light of the master will. There is no man but for ecstasy & strength. Ye hast bliss in all that ye do: the passion of prayer, unto thy self of All, driven by lust without attachment, is your purity of great sanctity without God. 41. The superstitions of errant cults have no place in the temple of Man: all the lies of God be off; all propitiatory extortion be away; all restrictive asceticism begone; and all shrines, across every tribe of humanity, be lifted up out of their glamour unto the clarity of the holier place in our enlightened Atheology - and let their missionaries and clerics, bearing the fasces of free will, be the arhats of Atheosis, the mahatmas of logic & will, at harmony with nature and science. 42. Fear not the damnation of any God. The courageous among ye becomest as gods instead, going whither angels fear to fly, feasting on the fruit of the trees of Eternity in the Supernal garden, knowing the Master, and the law of the house of the holy. 43. The aim of the temple of Man is not to minister unto any of the gods of men but to carry out the holier ministry of the divinity of the cardinal will of mankind. It is the service of the regal will of great honour, fine culture, profound intellect, high art, and the subtle discernment of superior intuition. Ours is the master vision that leads humanity out of a dark moment in the ignorance of fanatical faith, into the wise certainty of perfect clarity in the knowledge of masterful genius. 44. The sanctified anointing of the flesh, signifying the unction of uttermost union, is our act of holy chrismation, and the sacrament of blessing and adulation. 45. The sacrament of joyous celebration is taken with the fragrance of delight - the trees of Eternity - with sweet wines that foam: thy smoke is the communion of the master will, as its resin is the sap of the tree of gnosis; and thy drink is the ecstasy of holy union. In the ministry of holy genius are the acts of consecrated indulgence, wherein man celebrates his divinity and worships all great talent and beauty.

17

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

46. The mass of the master will is assisted with images and other visuals; with music and other sounds; with strange utterances and chants; and with the holy words of the temple. It is empowered by the epiklesis of the master and the oracle; it is energized by the eucharistic feast; it is enlivened by the love-feast; and in it is a millionfold joy of the holy passionate power of Atheosis. 47. The worship of man is with relaxants and stimulants; it is with song and with dance; and all pleasing things; it is at all the joy. 48. The secret worship of man is for the clerks of the holy carnal will. 49. This ministry of carnal worship is as a tapestry of many folds: therein are the coteries of love & the covens of the flesh, and theirs are the ministers & missionaries of the masterful mind. 50. This is the ministry of the worship of love: a devotion for man; a devotion for woman; devotions of the flesh; a rite for man with woman; a rite for man with man; a rite for woman with woman; a service for the many and the one; an orgium for the tribal dance of primal celebration; a romp of passionate force and fire in acts of domination and submission; a rite for every fetish, for the drawing of the power of lust. 51. Worship at the Stone of the Wise, which is the Rock of Priapus, not in reverence but for thy transformation of will to that which it sheweth forth: the master will of the divine in man. Awash in the perfumes of your worship, anointed in the power of your passion, it shall fill as it were with the seed of Atheosis, to impregnate thee over time with thy mastery. Yet know well that common desire only touches the surface: delve deep, tap thy secret well of lust to come into the bosom of this wisdom. And thine image of the union of Man & beast shall swell with holiness, surrounded by the other images of your secret temple. All before no god: they are to evoke the elements of hidden lust in the temple of Whoredom, for the sanctification & elevation of vulgar love, unto all primal remembrance. 52. And then, freed of your prism of light, thou shalt arrive at the obelisk of All, with the Strength & the Sight of the Abomination that maketh Desolate; yea, with the Strength & the Sight of the Abomination that maketh Desolate. And in this is all holiness, and hidden force, and cardinal will, at the supreme epiphany of no god. Amen.

Chapter II Tenet & Tradition

19

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

1. The Law of the master will unveiled: given under the imprimatur of the empyreal genius of Man: for the celebration of the shadow-spirit of strength of will, subtlety of wisdom, sanctity in the flesh, for the cult of the Serpent-flame of the sensuous. Blessing & worship to the children of the lovely Star, and to the vicar of worldly happiness & mastery. 2. The primal utterance of that beast is your own: and the utterance is all sanctity of the madness of furious passion; and the utterance is beyond pretense and the stinking squalour of lost sheep, which are in bondage to the sorrowful spell of the false God of slaves and of slavers; and the utterance is the only divinity there is - it is within you, and yet it is beyond all you know to be yourself: Very Voice of Very Voice, Unlimited. 3. It is called Beast, this God not God, for it is the genius not of any higher matter but of the holy carnal force of Man. It is the shade behind the mask of God; it is the titan that slayeth the gods of men to bring down heaven unto earth for the enlightenment of her creatures; and it is no god, making angels of demons, making gods of beasts. 4. This is the sacred tenet & tradition of the holy clerkship of the master will, out of the hidden genius of Man through the mastered and masterful hand of a veiled apostle of holy will, delivered of the forespeaker from whose grave arose the Wisdom & the Word of the cult of Man, unto the clarity of the Servant of Silence, with the Goat & the Hermit & the Hierophant & the Oracle of no god: for it is your master will, the lord of the lust of life and of the light of liberty. And thine is everlasting divinity. Ablanathalba. Semes Eilam. 5. Herein is all holiness without a single prayer of lofty affectation. Begone! all ye who are anathema, being without the fane for fault of infirmity of the will: and all those also who are cast out for stupidity; or obsession; or pettiness; or madness; or thuggish indelicacy; or herdmentality; or holier-than-thou pretension; or addiction to external wants; or devotion to spectral creeds; or adulation of foolish men; or lukewarm half-heartedness; or imposition of restriction; or depressing doubting; or fearful bootlicking; or sorrowful sighing; or misdirection

20

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

of errant will; or stubborn ignorance of closed mind; or impoverished talent; or heavy-hearted noxiousness; or crude and cruel malignancy; or intellectual unfitness; or self-loathing wretchedness; or vulgar compulsion; or racial and tribal limitation; or superstitions of reason; or heathen slavishness; or weeping and wailing to the detriment of doing; or the unjust abuse of others; or the fostering of habits of ill will in the wayward; or the coddling of the tendencies of weak will in warriors; or impotence of will out of submission to unnatural dogmas; or ghastliness of will in the morbid worship of dead men; or the teasing denials of modest women; or money-grubbing evangelism; or ignorant mockery; or the condemnation of all things pleasurable; or self-sacrificing altruism; or bondage to phantasms of idyllic imagining; or selfabhorrent lack of decorum and presentation; or simple-minded literalism; or the invention of outrageous external doctrine; or pitiful pandering to inferior will against our greater logic; or petty treachery; or pointless argumentation; or the conversion of the unwilling or the unsuited; or falling prey to foolish schemes; or brutalizing children or animals; or hypocritical exhibitions; or weak-willed timidity; or unscientific fundamentalism; or hurtful extremism; or emptyheaded fanaticism; or the zombification of external devotion; or spiritual extortion; or abstinence of idiotic chastity; or offenses against divine beauty of holy art; or cowardice; or the shabby ugliness of self-deprecating losers. All these are sins against the spirit of Man: anathema, to be gone. 6. The highest sin is Restriction: restrict not thy nobler will. Sin ye not against the regal spirit of Man, thine own holy spirit of master will, by fettering thyself to the outlandish covenants of the gods of men. Atone through sanctified indulgence instead, dressed up in the finest pleasures, spiced up with the most delicious treats. There is no redemption; there is no grace; and faith in fantastic gods is in vain; there is but an Abyss, and the spiral of then and now, through which the mystical flames of the unlimited Master flash, licking up the souls of men in their moment of rapture, in their union with the master will. 7. Fear not for the delicacy of thin skins: for that encourages their weakness; but be delicate for its own sake, as it is unbecoming of a king to forget the rules of art or to insult beauty. Madness and chaos are not our way: they are the illness of will and logic, wherein understanding is lost and naught is done well with business way. 8. Ours is the worship of talent and beauty: find your talents, enhance your beauty: this is the magic of natural attraction; if ye are strong and bright, then yours shall be every blessing of ecstasy and joy; if ye are weak unto your feelings, enslaved to your habits and needs, or if ye surround yourselves with anger and aggression, with all gloom of doom and doubt: then yours shall be the way of the banshee, which is not of us.
21

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

9. Thou art thine own master: kneel not to any god or man, nor to money, nor to masters, nor to the banner of any nation, nor to any power whether in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth. Ye belong to none: ye are the kings of the earth, and none shall avail against your great mission. Nor bend the knee to the naysayers: ye shall reveal it, there is success, ye availest. 10. Ours is strength of will, not infirmity of spirit. Pray not for comfort, but summon strength instead: by the power of your rites, with the fury of primal screams, not with the prayerful servility of bended knees. 11. Sanctified indulgence is your injunction for the feasts of the times, at every sanctoral celebration, at each commemoration, and at all your acts of natural worship. Indulge thyself without guilt: refrain not for fear of foolish gods. Why should any God come to loathe your fleshly joys? These are fools that slavish louts revere; their servants are shallow and their teachings are wrong for your joy. 12. Logic, not emotion, is your guide along the arduous pathway through Mount Abiegnus and beyond. It is the psychopomp of pure will, not corrupted by uncertainty, redeemed from the madness of the sorrowful soul. 13. Ours is detached passion, not maddening obsession. 14. Treat others as they deserve to be treated, by the value of their deeds. Hard knocks are the daily bread of the warrior of pure will; ordeals are the currency of the clerks of the temple. Respect those who are worthy of it according to the greatness of their character, their talent, their strength, and their accomplishments, not ruled by any superficial measure. 15. Money is at all the joy: be thrifty! Yea, be wise; but to hoard gold is to suffocate the powers of wealth. Spare nothing in your joyous indulgence at the celebrations of the kings, but waste not your worth. 16. Respect thyself above all: thou art perfect, at every imperfection! 17. Honour the spirit of genius, in all its vehicles of epiphany: in the holy communion of prophets, and of oracles, and of holy kings. 18. Self-indulgence is the missa of the master will.
22

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

19. Acts of tantra are the agapae of the master will. 20. The Baptism of Wisdom is the act of Apocalypsis out of which a holy bud is formed out of the karma of a king: in its dynamis - in the clarity of the current of the Master - the spirit of lust knoweth its oracle, who in her turn transmits the stamp of magical benediction to the host. And the chosen one thereof shall be enriched in his talents with the unlimited bounty of perfect will. 21. The illumination of initiation is our act of holy edification. 22. The beatific vision of the gnosis and communion of the master will is our act of holy confirmation into the interior assembly of the saints of Man. 23. The supreme epiphany of the master will, at holy union, is our act of holy manifestation, wherein the ego is strengthened, perfected, and worshipped. 24. The service of one's own holy place - and the calming of the mind in its atmosphere is the devotion of holy tranquility. 25. In our ministry to the tradition of the master will is our act of holy commemoration and promulgation: for our law is for all, for the liberation of all. 26. Remember the mighty and the fallen; all great kings; the prophets and the oracles; the poets and the bards; the warriors and the wise; all masters of art. 27. Pay homage to the holy places of our tradition, for they are wellsprings of the current of the master will through time & space. 28. Holy are the images of the master will: raise up the monstrance and the mandala in your parades of promiscuousity at the grand orgy of the gods; touch them to convey the blessings of power, and to mark the passing of the crown at the equinox of the love-feast, with all the mantrams of our tradition; and no god shall appear among ye, in great plumes of intangible smoke, for an epiphany of the apostate in deeps unseen.

29. Raise up the banner before the daughter of the king! The lord of the double horizon of spirit and flesh ariseth at the utterance of the Sphinx; and Agaph is the word of the law of the temple. The mighty Whore hath assumed the throne and place of the Master: another prophet doth arise, bringing fresh fever from the skies; another woman stirs awake the lust & worship of the Snake; another soul of God and beast mingles in the globd priest; another spirit of stem & seed stains the tomb that doth yet bleed; another king doth reign; and blessing shall be poured unto the star-studded mystical Whore! 30. Parade then the banner of red, white & brown, with the Seven Pointed Star in the middle, & the Star is Black; but the flag is stained with the blood of the ecstasy of our lady. Strike bells and burn fires; scream and shout and sing and soar; and reward the accomplished legionnaires of the lustration of holy love: let them drink from the chalice of Scarlet saints; and let them wear the purple & gold at all their meetings, for they are ever the kings among the kings. 31. Let the tribal beat resound to shots of booming force, at every parade and at every dance; and at every convocation of kings, a consecration of extravagant indulgence, a feast for the fellowship, and music, with speeches and songs both soft and fierce to lull them and to rouse them: be upon them, o Oracle, bare and rejoicing: on their flesh shalt thou feast! 32. To lull, lurk first among the shadowy words; to rouse, withdraw therefrom to unfathomable depths of masterful fury; and to be upon them, cast the look of the Master in silent strength & splendour. Conjoin, coagulate, and then commune ye all in the holy ecstasy of your orison: yours is all the joy. 33. Salute one another with upraised fisted palms: it is the salute of the strong & the sign of victory: in this sign do we conquer, gripping the fasces of free will. 34. There are three companies of stars in heaven: the esoteric, the exoteric, & the uniter who unites these by his art. The Eremite, withdrawing from the world; and the Mystic of the Blasted House of God, fighting against the world; and the divine Lover, whose indulgences are the sacraments of his temple, for he weddeth the lowest and the highest by his holy art, unto the glory of no god. In the end, the one is but the wretched sulk, hiding from reality, and the other merely the gross man of earth, praying for escape; but ye are the worshippers of love, who are for the regeneration of the earth in the doctrine of sacred nature.

35. He shall teach thereof: let there be volumes of diatribes against both spiritualist and literalist errors. There are wisdom and wisdom, with no infallible authority among the wise; but there is no wisdom in the follies of reason or of pipedreams. 36. Reason is the dog that chaseth its tail; and religion is the dog that cheriseth its waste. Ours is the enlightened reason and natural religion of all humanity: the movement of no god unto the glory of mankind. 37. All things are an extension of self: you are much more than you know. 38. All fortunes are dispersed with time; every empire crumbles; but the unfragmentary consciousness of an infinite universality endures. 39. No one shall rule another; and there is no intermediary. Thy God is within thee & beyond all that thou knowest: but the gnosis of the third Order of the master will is within reach. And its mahatmas are among ye, in places high and low, to do their will & the will of the great Order, to push the Order and to carry the glad word of liberation from the hurtful and superstitious dogmas of the gods of men. No god, nor any man, nor any institution, nor any nation, shall govern thine own holy master will on earth: for ye are the kings and queens of great genius, regal & fine, masterful in all that ye do. 40. Be ye without fear in the folly of the moment: for ye are without time as ye are in all moments of time, without beginning and without end, in wisdom and in folly, from life to life, limited to nothing at all! 41. Ye celebrate the Master & the Whore to deify your love, happiness & ecstasy; and ye, their gifted chosen - whether it be the gift of wisdom, or knowledge, or intuition, or empathy, or ecstasy, or talent, or foresight, or whatever ability - even ye are their avatars on earth, every man and every woman an aspect of the genius of the master will, the apostles of no god, the disciples of universal mastery, the rulers in the highest. 42. Beauty is a manifestation of divine art in whatever form it takes. Ours is the religion of Man not God; worshipping our own genius with love, hedonism, & all joyful things, we are the sacerdotal masters of the knowledge of the flesh. All objects of beauty, in the flesh and in art, are the icons of worship: it is the worship not of doves but of serpents, not of friends but of

25

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

enemies, not of soft love but of hard lust: unassuaged of tenderness, delivered from the softness of the heart and empowered with the madness of primal passion. 43. There is no petition for the easier way: the path of least resistance leads to weakness and harder suffering; but fight thy way instead, and neither weep nor complain, allowing thy trials to harden thee and to strengthen thee; but thou shouldst go easy on the beautiful and the childlike, being worshipful and delicate, to be worthy of the crown of the king. 44. Our religion serveth humanity not fantasy: it hath nothing to do with primitive superstition and propitiatory pandering. There is no prayer for appeasement; there is no spell for success; there is no pact to sign to win wealth and health and love and long life. To be of us is to live a long life of honour, wisdom, courage, & strength, with the will to break through the pettiness of the momentary prison, and the intellect to cut through the veils of foolish or superficial thinking. The beautiful, of body or mind, are of us, as are the artful and the bright, the thoughtful and the kind: but above all else be ye strong of spirit, for ye are warriors of the will in the highest, and none shall stand before ye for the hidden power of Justice & Truth. 45. The foes of Man have set up monuments of words to glorify their escape: such heathen abhor their nature, knowing it not; they abstain from delight, knowing not the blessedness of pleasure; and theirs is no god, but the mirage of the Abyss of God. Ours is the sacrament of joy in the hard contest of concrete reality. 46. Ordeals make you stronger & wiser: attack them with gusto, then victory will be more rewarding than if you weep & wail your way through: your trials are challenges to be attacked with strength & relish, not ruts in which to wallow & whine. 47. Thou hast the enginery of war, o minister of the mission of Man: look at the words before and after. Ye are enemies, o lovers of furious passion! and your war-play is the trigger of the war-engine of Secret Chiefs. 48. To fly thee or to smite them that bend before thee, so that they might bear thy love: thine is the vision of heaven; and thine is the boundless joy of the earth. 49. Deify no imaginary ghosts; deify instead only what matters: the love, joy, passion, ecstasy, of your genius.

26

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

50. To externalize divinity is to fail thyself, even that self which lieth beyond all that thou knowest. 51. It is the self beyond yet within thyself. There is no self; there is only ecstasy for the enjoyment of which a life hath been fashioned. Yea, and there is a Word for the utterance of which a Mouth hath been opened! 52. Ego is good as it serveth thine own most holy will. For it is the righteous vessel of the highest in man. 53. The Overworld is the union of self, All-in-One, with almighty will; and the Underworld is the union of the Infinite, or All, with none in particular. Both are equally holy; neither is God. Thou art thyself the highest God; and thy lust is the house of the holy angel of secret power & joy. 54. True will swelleth up out of the bliss of true love, free of the bondage of the heart, delivered from the limits of the moment. 55. Compulsive emotion, the madness of the moment, being bothered in the extreme, bringing only harm unto others, depressing pity or despair, withholding free expression: these are of the spirit of ill will within ye. APO PANTOS KAKODAEMONOS: Get thee behind Me, in the Name of Babalon: there is Restriction unto Choronzon; there is Glory unto Therion! 56. Obeyest ye the master will, which giveth ye but one commandment: Do what thou wilt. 57. Find your holy will in all your happiness, at all the joy, in thy rapture of union: do that & nothing else; and enjoy unlimited bliss. 58. Ye are animals, but with wisdom: be ye wise therefore, and not as animals. Be ye as gods unto gods, having all understanding and wisdom, always tender unto beauty, at all times impassioned as in love. 59. Our way is the way of Man, and of the impersonal primal current of perfect will, in which true sanctity and our basest carnal nature are reconciled not through ascetism, nor through sacrifice, but through the sanctified indulgence of holy will.

27

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

60. To hell with sorrow; let go of all attachment; overcome emotional burden, unto pure will delivered from obsession, unto the realization of the higher knowledge of our enlightened Atheology of the genius of Man. 61. Holiness is your joy-toy, not a measure for condemnation: for true holiness is in your true nature, no matter what thy nature, not in some ideal of the imagination; it is your happiness on earth. 62. The highest authority is your own genius; the greatest power is joy; the loftiest motive is love, without restriction or oppression. 63. Inundate thyself with the verses, and over time ye may come to lie in the bosom of holiness; but if ye revere the surface of a word, there ye shall find a hollow idol. 64. There is an end to the unveiling of the word of the Law: be ye what ye are, & not other; be ye holy with joy, and righteous without judgment, and strong, having all time at your disposal and brilliance at your fingertip; also there is no god to condemn ye, neither here nor after: there is your Truth, whereby Rectification is achieved.

Chapter III The Rite of the Master Will

29

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

1. The unveiling of the rite of the master will unto the ministers of the temple of Man. 2. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Voice of the holy master will saith unto the Atheologians: unto him that conquereth will I give to eat of the tree of gnosis, which is in the midst of the paradise of no god. 3. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Voice of the master will saith unto the worshippers of no god: unto him that conquereth will I give to partake of the hidden power, and I will give him a Stone of perfect purity, and in this Stone a new name written, which no man knoweth save he that Attaineth. 4. Of him that conquereth will I make a sacred lingam in the temple of no god, and he shall go without the holy place nevermore: and I will write upon him the name of no god, and the name of the city of no god, the City of the Pyramids, which cometh down out of holiness thereupon: and I will emblazon upon him his own unique name, for he shall be made anew. 5. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Voice of the master will saith unto the dogs: I know your acts, that ye are neither holy nor respectful of the rule of kings: alas! that ye are so cunning and keen. Yet because ye are tepid, and neither pure nor refined, I will spew ye out of my Serpent's mouth! I will wipe away your smiles; for yours is folly not mastery: and so shall ye be lost for a season. 6. Come! my chosen, for ye are worthy to take the law, and to unveilest the veil thereof: for ye are made anew, redeemed unto no god by the power of lust beyond every limitation of kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. 7. Yea! and verily, ye are unto no god kings and priests, oracles and prophets; and ye shall reign upon the earth, rejoicing with terrible fury of passionate indulgence. Love is the law; and masterful is the holy will.

30

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

8. Worthy is the lowest of men who is baptized in the power of lust to receive the force, and wealth, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing, of the master will: for he is transformed into a king, Most Holy & Most High. 9. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto the ministers of the master will for ever and ever! Amen. Aumgn. Ha. 10. Strike the bell with the dorjes: it is the sundering of Silence with the utterance of the stars, and the invocation of Man. 11. 'Love is the law' shall be the foundation; and 'Do what thou wilt' shall be the fountainhead of the master will. There is no God beyond the genius of man. 12. Recite the collects of the sevenfold scroll, invoking the genius of Man, and making the encircled x with the thurible: after invoking the seven powers of the spheres, then recite the first and second keys, first for the Master and second for the Whore. Say: I come; I do; and I know. 13. Recite the third key, of the establishment of the new law throughout the nations, to conquer in the name of no god: then go forth on, and conquer. Say: I come; I do; and I know. 14. Recite the tenth key, the twelfth key, and the fourteenth key, to focus on purging, purifying, and rectification. Say: I come; I do; and I know. 15. Recite the fourth key, the fifth key, and the sixth key, to mark aeonic events, for holy offices, and for temple works. Say: I come; I do; and I know. 16. Recite the eleventh key for funerary celebrations and commemorations. Say: I come; I do; and I know.
31

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

17. Recite the seventh key, and the thirteenth key, for the invocation of the spirit of lust, and to purge the earth of the spectre of chastity. Say: I come; I do; I know. 18. Recite the ninth key for the celebration of the sacraments of the stimulation of pleasure. Say: I come; I do; I know. 19. Recite the fifteenth key, the sixteenth key, and the seventeenth key, to charge thy force of war against the heathen of false gods & the dishonourable, while on the march of the cult war. Say: I come; I do; I know. 20. Recite the eighteenth key to invoke the clarity of no god. Say: I come; I do; I know. 21. Recite the nineteenth key to invoke the Vision & the Voice of thine ultimate Understanding & Wisdom. Say: I come; I do; I know. 22. Listen! there is Silence in heaven upon earth. And thou standest before the altar, having a golden censer of spirit with the fragrance of the flower of the flesh, that thou mayest offer the same - with the passion of all saints of Man - upon the altar of flesh before the eidolon of the union of no god. 23. And the perfume of thy lust, manifesting the Supreme & Terrible Presence that cometh with the passion of saints, ascendeth up unto no god from out of thy breath, o Son of Man, to stir the force of the beast of the field in thee, to the satisfaction of the Woman of Whoredom. 24. So takest thou the censer of spirit, and fill it with fire from the altar of flesh, arousing the holy carnal spirit of thy lust: and there shall be Voices, and Thunderings, and Lightnings, and an Earthquake, out of the perfume of thy passion.

32

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

25. It is the opening of the bottomless Abyss at the unveiling of the robe of the beauteous one; there ariseth a perfume therefrom, with the force of a great engine; and the light of the master will, along with its holy current, are cast into the darkness of perfect gnosis by the furious waves of the Abyss of the lovely Whore. 26. Then reaffirmest thou the holy carnal will, remembering thy sacraments, and thy drugs, and thy fornications, and thine indulgences. 27. For thou standest with thy right foot upon the Sea of Understanding, with thy left foot upon the isle of the flesh, raising up thy hand unto the stars of the company of heaven. And thou swearest by no god that indwelleth Eternity & the flesh, the master will of the gnosis of Man, that inhabiteth the universes, and all things therein, and the Sea of Understanding, and the forces of the Abyss of Knowledge: for that the circles of time shouldst contain thee no more. 28. Rise up & utter forth the utterances of passion; unveil the mysteries of the holy place; and penetrate the holy of holies of the Whore of Whores, caressing the altar of Woman or of Man, carousing with them that worshippest beauty therein, communing with the saints of the Scarlet Dawn of the descent of the spirit of lust upon the kingdom of the flesh by the power of no god in men. 29. For ye are the apostles of the kingdom of the flesh at delight upon the body of the Queen of Heaven: and the Holy Spirit of Whoredom shall anoint thee in the fount of the Baptism of Wisdom: for the joys of the flesh are your sacraments; and the power of the lust of the Master & the Whore shall be all over thee, so as to stir thee or to still thee - Aum! let it fill thee; it shall renew thee. And the red wine shall fillest the cup of her Whoredom; and the red gleam shall be in thine eye, O vicar of Man - and the sword of the glad word of mastery at thy hand! 30. It is given thee, O apostles of the Scarlet Flame of Sanctified Indulgence, to shut up heaven, that it rain not but flames of lust in the times of the most holy utterances of your wanga; and ye shall have power over the wine, to turn it into the blood of the Scarlet saints, for the remembrance of regeneration in the current of the holy genius of Enlightenment, filling ye with uttermost vigour; and ye shall vent upon the earth with subtle calamitous force as ye will; and ye shall be strong in war by the inspiration of your rites.

33

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

31. And when ye shall have finished the prayers of your orison, the Master shall ascend out of the power of the lust of the pit of the Woman of Whoredom, and ye shall be undone and regenerated thereby, assimilated in the master will of thy Wisdom. Then thy former self is no more; and thy former life is better served; and thy works shall be the most luscious fruit of the union of heaven and earth, with benefit of sanctity of an infinite power in the sweetness of adulterous flesh. 32. Then your bodies of light shall take up house in the square of the Victorious City, yea, even that Great City, that is the Whore of Whores & Queen of Queens, Mistress of the Understanding of Spirit and of Flesh, of mystic flame and of holy fane. 33. And ye shall rejoice, making merry, and give gifts to one another; and there shall be all manner of celebration; for, verily, ye are not dead, but made anew in the image of the Perfect Mind. 34. And thy places be filled with great fury, and the fury of lust be thine; and the forces of them who are fallen to the power of lust be thine to share, that all be lifted up thereby; and reward be unto thy ministers the prophets, and to the saints, and to them that invokest the master will, both great and small; and away with them that revile the way of the lovely earth. 35. And the temple of no god shall be unveiled in the spirit: witness then, in that temple, the Kibotos of the covenant of Man: and behold the epiphany of Lightnings, and Voices, and Thunderings, and an Earthquake, and Great Hail, in thy great golden Carnival of Copulation. 36. And there shall appear a great wonder in the aire of the temple: a woman girt with a sword, with the moon beneath her feet, and upon her head a wreath of twelve stars, eleven and one, for the eleven oracles in the Woman of Whoredom. And she being with magical child crieth, in agony of passion, screaming forth the utterances of unseen generation. Many forms might that child take: inspiration of talent; of love; of power; of strength; of wisdom; of wealth; of health; of joy; of happiness; of profound insight; of banishing thy difficulties or thine enemies. But let there be nothing of superstition; for this system serveth to focus thine inherent force to the task at hand, not to pray for miracles.

34

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

37. Next there shall appear another wonder in the temple; and behold: a Great Fiery Serpent, having the seven heads of divinity and the ten horns of the Holy Qabalah, with seven wreaths upon its heads, for the seven powers of human divinity. And the Master shall appear within thee, thou being amidst the triangle of art: it is stirred by the epiklesis and the consumption of the sacrament of the mystic blood of the fertility of the Holy Whore & of the immortal genius of the saints; and it conferreth the remembrance of your divinity at the eating of the host of holy gnosis: it is the seed of Atheosis that impregnateth thy being with the knowledge of the master will, fueling the holiness of joy. 38. And its tail draggeth down the third part of the stars, being all the saints of the third Order of heaven, and casteth them into thy flesh: and the dragon standeth before the Great Whore, which is in labour with the magical child of divine remembrance, for to devour the offspring as soon as it is issued forth, for a feast of the lust and worship of Man & beast. 39. And the Fire-Serpent casteth out of its mouth a flood of seed after the Scarlet Woman, that it might cause her to be carried away on the lust of its flood. 40. And the flesh is utilized by the Whore; and the flesh openeth wide her mouth, and swalloweth up the massive flood which Hell's Worm casteth out of the mouth of its lust. 41. With thy feet planted firmly in the lust of the flesh, and thy head held aloft above even thine uttermost divinity in heaven, thou shalt gradually unfold the scroll of the seven powers & the ten states of Hierophantic apprehension, with the ten diadems of regal being, and upon thy head the fivefold name of blasphemy: AQEOS. There is no God in that most holy place: there is the covenant of Man & beast, and the knowledge of heaven on earth. 42. Reaffirm thy covenant therefore: recite thy creed: fly thy banners and make holy. Then feast, and sing, and dance, and love. Swear then thine oaths; dedicate and confirm; and rejuvenate, facing the Kiblah to remember the revealing that led unto the Scarlet Dawn. 43. Now thy holy epiphany shall flow as it were from out of the sacred lingam from upon the altar; consecrate by pointing to the four quarters, with east facing the Apostolic See. 44. In the east invokest the aire of flame; in the south invokest air; in the west invokest water; and in the north invokest earth. The Sevenfold Star set before thee in the east; with utterances at thy right, in the south; with music at thy left, in the north; and the altar of flesh behind thee, in the west.
35

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

45. And, be thee man or woman, the sacred lingam signifieth your divine power as the encircling universe of beauty signifieth the orifice of thine infinite beloved: it giveth thee its force, and its strength, and its inspiration; and thy beloved is present in the bell, the crown, the robe, the ring, the censer, the sword, and the cup. 46. Now then: bring thou the lingam of God into the altar of flesh, and proclaim the benediction of creation, uttering the word of the time and the secret word thereof. Then anoint it with holy olive oil; and bruise the head of it against the banner of the Septenary, and against the images of the saints; also against thy forehead, as well as the foreheads of the priestess and of the worshippers. 47. Then shalt thou openest thy mouth in blasphemy against the gods of men, worshipping no god, uplifting the spirit of the genius of Man, blaspheming their names, and their ministerial vessels upon earth, and their foul spirits. 48. Fumigate, performing the vanquishing rite; and then invoke no god by the sixfold rite. 48. Also thou shalt be strong in war against the saints of ill will and of false gods of men, to conquer them; and power shall be given thee to confound the liars of the slave gods of every tribe and every tongue and every nation, each according unto his own ingenium. 49. Raise up the cup, drink the water and wine, invoking H KOKKINE GUNH; lift up the paten, eat the bread, invoking TO MEGA QHRION. Give the sign of the salutation of strength, uttering the holy fourfold word. 50. He that seeketh the Infinite becometh the Absolute: he that invoketh the lingam of God becometh the lingam of God, and giveth forth its issue of the realization of Eternal Life. Here is the Wisdom & the Knowledge of the saints of the Scarlet Woman. 51. Draw down the light of the Serpent-flame into thy being, raising and lowering the flame before all; and assume the form of the Androgyne, giving the sign thereof. And thy genius shall appear invisibly as it were in the fumes of the censer, giving benediction unto them on whom it smileth and vexing with woe them on whom it frowneth.

36

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

52. Commemorate with the images of the prophet and the oracles; let there be communion with their essences, which transcend time. For they were not, but for the expression of the word of no god; and every moment in time is Eternal. 53. Mark the palm of thy right hand, and thy forehead, with the encircled x of no god, with holy oil of olive, signifying wisdom: it is a shield against the thought of ill will, to ensure thy purity of mind against the current of the spectres of Petty Hate & Propitiatory Hurt. Neglect not the subtle power of the mind. 54. Next the verses of the law, chosen to suit either the moment or thy need, using the meaning of the letter and the number thereof. Then the mantram; and a song to invoke our Lady of Love & of Lust. 55. Hear the song: She falls! She falls! Babalon falls! Toppled her walls! Ravaged her halls! Babalon the Great! She falls! She falls! Unto wicked copulations & wrathful fornications; Babalon falls! She falls! She falls!

56. Then the priest shall say: QHRION! QHRION! TO MEGA QHRION! If any invoke Man by his image, and receive his emblem in his forehead, to signify the master will, as in his hand, to signify the master work, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrathful ecstasy of the Whore of Heaven, which is copiously poured out, undiluted, into the cup of her lust; and he shall be tormented with passion & power in the presence of the holy ministers, and in the presence of no god: and the perfume of their passion
37

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

ascendeth unto the moment of Eternity: and they hast no rest day nor night, who invokest the master will and its image, and receivest its holy emblem. Here is the fidelity of the saints of Man: here are they who keep the law of no god, and the love of the Infinite Soul & the Impersonal Spirit! And blessed are the dead which die in courage & strength & joy, who are mighty with the power of the spirit of the flesh, that they may return anew again and again, to be at all the joy, even amidst all toil & trouble; and their acts do accompany them, for better or worse.

57. At last, bringest thou forth the vials of consecrated oils, for the seven chrisms of the wrathful lust of the Master, for the devotions of the flesh. 58. For the first chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the forehead of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I rise up in clarity! and it is as an acid that burneth from thy mind the spell of the cults of the gods that enslave. 59. For the second chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the feet of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I follow thee in thy way! and it is as the blood of the gods slain by the sword of truth, and of every lost spectre of death. 60. For the third chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the breast of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I kill my heart, purging it of the bondage of emotion! and it is as the baptism of blood & regeneration unto Eternal Life in the here & now. 61. For the fourth chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the loins of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I am loud and adulterous! and it is as the inspiration of the Sun, scorching men with passion. 62. For the fifth chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the belly of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I am strong and courageous! and it is as the nourishment of energy, driving men with vigour.

38

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

63. For the sixth chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the lips of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I am honourable and regal! and it is as three subtle forces like unto cthonic spirits of lust, working charms to push the mission of the kings of the kingdom of Man. 64. For the seventh chrism, let there be an outpouring of oil upon the crown of the head of the priest, and of the priestess, and of the worshippers; saying: I am wise and knowing! and it is as the union of contraries in the accomplishment of the Great Work, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom & Perfect Happiness. 65. And thou art to deliver the holy love-song of the Agapae of the Whore of Whores, to be sung by the priest with the antiphon of the priestess, who serveth as the altar of naked flesh:

I am witness to the Truth, as the Great Whore squats upon the great streams in which the Whore & her kings are drunken: behold the tantrum of the Whore & the saints & the wine of their holy Whoredom. (Then the priestess shall recite this antiphon.) Unity with Infinity: To Me! To Me! Oneness with Infinity, Perfect with Sanctity, Most holy, Most lovely, I am the Victorious City. Sing! sing songs to me! Burn! burn fumes to me! Wear! wear jewels to me! Drink! drink wines to me! City of Man beside the Sea! To Me! To Me! To Me! To Me! I love thee, so come To Me! Unto Me, eternally.

39

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

66. And the priest shall say: Behold! the Whore squatting upon the throne, giving the blessing of masterful genius to men, replete with names of blasphemy, with powers seven and houses ten. (And again the antiphon.) And the Whore is garbed in purple & red, crowned with stars about her head; and a golden cup with the genius of the dead, from which the lust of saints is fed. (And again the antiphon.) Across her head is her name drawn: MYSTERION, MYSTERION, BABALON, MYSTERION! MOTHER OF WHORES! BRIDE OF THERION! (And again the antiphon.) And the Woman is drunken with the power of lust, & with the passion Of Scarlet saints: I marvel at her glory! On her beauty I feast! For I am the worshipper Of the Whore & the Beast! (And again the antiphon.) MYSTERION! MYSTERION! Secret of the Whore & THERION. HAGION! HAGION! TO MEGA THERION!
40

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

Feast! Feast! O blessd Beast On the body of BABALON! That Beast I see, That Beast I see: Master of Eternity. It was, is not, & is to be, Ascending to Infinity. That Beast I see, That Beast I see: Master of Eternity. (And again the antiphon.) She falls! She falls! To beds of whores In chambers of horrors Babalon falls! Devoured of Beasts, Indwelt by Gods: City of Whoredom & luxuriant feasts: Hierophantic Kingdom Of maniacal peace: To Babalon! The Whore of Whores! Our millionfold joy Is yours! Is yours! (And again the antiphon.) 67. In this is holiness: in this is bliss.

41

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

Aum. Aum. Amn. Ho. Aum. Ha. 68. Salute then with upraised fisted palm, the salute of the strong & the sign of victory: for in this sign do we conquer. 69. And finish the hymn to Woman by uttering the secret word of the rituals, as it was given unto ye by the child of the forespeaker & the forerunner before him. 70. And commence at last with the lection of the minister of the temple, on that most holy mystery of mysteries:

Bind nothing! for there is no god but the genius of Man. And let there be no difference made among you between any one thing & any other thing; for thereby there cometh hurt. With the God & the Adorer the Infinite is as nothing: they do not see her. They are as upon the earth; but she is Infinite Heaven & Voluminous Hell, and there is no God but their union in Man. Nothing is a secret key of this law: Atheos is our only holiness; there is no god in the highest. She falls, she falls, into ruffled beds of purple! the Great Whore falls! the temple of angels & demons, the tower of every spirit, and the house of every lofty & terrible thing. This is the mystery of BABALON, that is the mystery of the Great Whore which nurtureth not - for she is impersonal & indifferent yet all-beautiful therefore; and it is the great mystery of the master of the temple, who forsaketh the child of his vulgar being and becometh as the Great Mother instead. The key to the attainment of the Most High is to achieve not by force of limited will but by relinquishing the same to all: it is to submit to the Infinite All, not to dominate the limited particulars. Thou art become the master in the devotion of submission, o warrior of the unveiling of the loveliness of Woman! for she is all-touching, all penetrant, her lovely white hands upon black flesh, &

her lithe body arched for love, and her soft feet caressing the strong muscles: and her worship is the worship of beauty & joy & love & strength: for she is above us and in us. Her ecstasy is in ours. Her joy is to see our joy. And her genius is our own, though we know it not. And she is the Great Whore, for she loveth all; and this also pushes the great doctrine of the House of Lovers: that love is sacred and not to be despised. For the avatar of the highest is as the ape of God. Now of the wine of the fury of her lusts have all the nations drunk; and the kings of the earth have indulged in Whoredom with her; and the merchants of the earth, through the power of her lust, are enriched to redeem the earth unto her joy, for the glory of no god. Come into her, o my people, that ye shall be partakers of her pleasures, that ye receivest of her blessings & epiphanies! Be ye giving unto her even as she giveth unto ye all understanding: yea, givest pleasure, even in all pain; merriment, even in all loss; strength of will, even in bodily suffering: for we are in these ordeals but also above them, and there is no ordeal greater than bliss. Follow thy bliss, therefore, shirking not the hard way, and achievest the master will of the ruler of the earth. As much as she glorifieth herself, and liveth deliciously, so much ecstasy and joy givest unto her, with thine own indulgences! for she saith in her heart: I am regal, and am wedded unto joy, and knowest no sorrow. Therefore shall your pleasures come in one day: life, and rejoicing, and abundance; and she shall be utterly burned with the fire of her passion: for beautiful & strong is the lord which lusteth after her! And the kings of the earth, who have lusted and lived deliciously with her, shall sing unto her, and celebrate her, when they shall sense the perfume of her passion, knowing the love of the torments of the flesh, saying: Salute! Salute! Almighty Woman & Almighty Whore! her Infinite Beauty dost we adore, now & for evermore! And beneath the vault of stars, within yet beyond the moment, we burnest her incense before her, invoking the Infinite with pure hearts, and the Serpent flame therein: and so we shall come a little to lie in the ecstasy thereof. For one kiss art we are willing to give all; but whoso giveth all, he shall lose all, and gain to no end.

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

This is the mystery of the Master: that for all that ye attain, ye shall lose all - yet in that very moment, ye shall gain all, and ye shall come to know the joy of it all. This is the regeneration of all in the many, limited unto none: the holy canon of Legius, and the rule of Unlimited Will. And the fruits of thy former yearning, in the bondage of the desire of the moment, are departed from thee; and all things which are sumptuous & splendid are thine, yet thou shalt find them no more desirable at all for themselves alone, but for that Infinite Beauty which they signify for Thee in your moment of holy union. Rejoice! rejoice therefore, on your way into the Victorious City, which is veiled in fine linen, and purple, and red, decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! and her street overfloweth with the wine of her ecstasy, and with the ecstasy of her Scarlet saints! And the light of a star shall shine no more at all above thee; and the joyous utterances of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thou art passed beyond the bondage thereof, as thy star falleth into thy flesh; and thou hast a millionfold joy by the power of unlimited passion! Whoso seeth the vision of the highest seeth not at all; and whoso listeneth to the voice of God heareth Silence. Thou art thine own God: adore thyself therefore, and indulge the holy carnal trinity of Love, Joy, & Bliss! And from the power of the Whore is formed anew the ever-coming genius of prophets, and of oracles, and of saints, and of all them that make love upon the earth. 71. Now let there be a thronging sound, vast and loud, in the temple, followed by the praises of the priest:

Amn! Ha! knowledge and delight and bright glory be unto the ruler of the earth; and every blessd joy be his, who is strong of will and lovely of talent, who is devoted and determined amidst the agony of adversity, and whose kingdom is founded upon love.

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

For true and just are his works: for he hath abided with the Great Whore, which did stir the earth with the beauty of her Whoredom; and he hath avenged the blood of her servants in the refutation of hurtful doctrine. Be ye therefore as he: be ye as rulers of the earth, and delight with our Lady in all things of sense & rapture! Aumgn! And the perfume of her passion ariseth for ever and ever. Amen, Aum-Ha. Stand fast against the word of restriction and hurt: for her sake, also for beauty's sake and love's! 72. And let all say the antiphon: Amen, Aum-Ha; yea, unto eleven times let it loudly resound.

Rejoice! for no god reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice! for we are subservient unto none and submissive unto nothing at all; at rule over all and enslaved unto nought; at delight in every delicious thing, masterful in art, tender though mighty, with wisdom of subtlety. And you, o woman, shall be arrayed with our lady in resplendence, self-shining & beautiful, paraded with splendour & glory, layered with gold and with gems, and seated in the throne of God, pouring down the blessings of lustful abandon upon the worshippers of your delicate feet. Let all loving women be exalted among ye: let them be girt with the power of their lust among women and among men. Blessing & worship to the prophets and the oracles of the genius of Man, which were, are, and are to come, with invitation unto the wedding of the Master & the Whore.

73. And standing beneath the sun or the moon or the stars, crying with a loud voice, saying to the subtle forces that fly as it were in the midst of heaven:

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

Come! all ye, and gather yourselves together unto the love-feast of no god: that ye may eat of the fruit of the lust of kings, and of the fruit of the lust of Secret Chiefs, and of the fruit of the lust of the mighty, and of the fruit of the lust of Priapus, and of the fruit of the lust of them that are seated thereupon, and of the fruit of the lust of all, both regal and enslaved, both great and small! For we are the worshippers of no god, true invocants of the highest in the finest delicacies of the lowest, at union with all the prophets and oracles and saints in the spirit of the genius of Man! And we are baptized in secret wisdom together - we ministers and prophets and oracles and saints of the divinity of Man - awash for ever in the Sea of Lust & Ecstasy, across all barriers of the flesh, unto the bliss of Eternity which comprehendeth that finitude. And the Sea of Lust & Ecstasy giveth up the dead which are in it: and the power of the flesh and of the Whore delivereth up the genius which is latent in them; and their brilliance is variant, each shining with his own measure of passion for greatness. And the highest, who are chief of all according to the power of their talents, have unlimited passion. He that conquereth shall enjoy all things; and he shall be his own God, justified so long as he goeth, with millionfold joy & strength, against the righteous sovereign will of no other. But the fearless, and untiring, and the honourable, and warriors, and paramours, and artists, and thinkers, and magi, and mahatmas, and true worshippers of Man in the highest: ye are the rulers of the earth, and ye shall have your nascency from beyond the Abyss that rageth with passion and ecstasy: which is the second life, & the re-emergence of the master will.

74. And they shall behold the issue of the Master in their moment of holy union; and its great name of blasphemy shall be in their foreheads.

Liber Legius - The Book of the Master Will

75. He who hurts, he shall be hurt: he who is filthy, he shall be filthier: he who is just, he shall be justified: and he who spreads the sanctity of joyousness, he shall be hallowed. 76. The blessings of no god be with you all: be strong; lust; enjoy all things; struggle on; and conquer.
