Big Goal

Vision: All you want students to accomplish now and over time so they can earn outstanding academic and life opportunities. EXAMPLES: My students will have the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that will set them up for success in Form 2, the rest of secondary school and tertiary education. Regardless of their reading level, they will be able to analyze form-level texts and describe the way that authors use literary devices to convey meaning, and theyll be able to apply similar strategies in their own writing. They will understand how to improve their skills continuously and independently, believing that these skills affect their lives and the lives of others. In addition, my students will have strong communication and debate skills, and will be able to successfully solve conflicts. All of my students will remain in education post SPM and will pursue something relevant to their career development. Students will be respectful, responsible, confident English speaking leader in and outside of the Pulau Ketam community. Your Vision: My students will be able improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that will help them to move further in achieving excellence for English subject. My ultimate goal for English subject is for the students to be brave in using the language in the classroom so that they are able to communicate with their peers, confidently. Students will also be able to voice out their opinion and ideas, and not be afraid of doing mistakes as it is part of learning. They will improve on their reading skills by reading 1 book per month, and improve their pronunciation skill at the same time. Handout how this particular subject can teach them about the past, and what consequences it brought to the future generation. Student will be able to use rational and critical thinking to analyze the facts given and comprehend them. Instead of memorizing and regurgitating the facts, I want them to understand why certain actions lead to certain consequences. All students will remain pursuing their education until they finish school, they will have grit, and the love of learning for both of the subject that I am teaching. They will grow up to be a be respectful, responsible and a person who always gives best in whatever he is doing.

Big Goal: The bold, measurable and public declaration of what your students will achieve this year in pursuit of that vision.

EXAMPLE: By the end of this year 100% of my students pass Sejarah Form 4. 100% of my students can actively participate in an educational debate in History class. 100% of my students will participate in a volunteer activity outside of school. 100% of students will know their options in career, education, and scholarships and create a portfolio for their future.

Backwards plan from your goal and create a yearlong plan to ensure you meet your goals. Create a detailed monthly plan to ensure you are on track to finishing your Long Term Plan. Every lesson plan should have What, How and Why Key points. Your Why Key Point should always connect to your goals and vision. Write a lesson plan to teach your Vision and Goals. Create visuals for the classrooms or exercise books. Track progress towards goal, celebrate with students and LDO when progress is made towards your goal.
