PIE (Positive, Instructional & Encouraging Work together with Referees and Parents Resources: (NO experience necessary!) AYSO provides age-appropriate skills and development training Local classes, newsletters, website Moms and Dads- YOU can do IT: be the COACH!!

Referees
YOUR TEAM NEEDS A REFEREE!
MOMS, DADS and SIBLINGS can volunteer!
(Youth Referees: 10 yrs old and up, adult volunteer is required.)

AYSO has the best Referee training in the country. No Soccer Experience is necessary. Uniform and kit is provided. Help keep the games Safe, Fun and Fair Become your teams Referee and have the best seat in the house! Training class dates: July 23 or Aug 20 Contact RefAdministrator@GlenviewAYSO.org

Team Parent (TP) or Division Team Parent (DVP) -Regular Season Responsibilities DVP/TP- Phone Tree contact for Team Parent Coordinator (TPC) for rain-outs, schedule changes TP- Coordinate pick up & distribute of the team packet for season (Rosters, Medical Waivers, Schedules, Uniforms, etc) TP- Coordinate with Coaches for practice schedule TP- Arrange snack schedule, net set-up/take down TP- Check (847) 729-AYSO/GlenviewAYSO.org for game day info TP- Organize end-of-season trophies / medals / activities (up to each team)

Facilitate
Organize Team Meeting to select 2 Coaches and 1 Referee (Refs not required for Kindergarten) Volunteers must be selected by next week-June 13! Send Volunteer names, positions, phone and email addresses to Team Formation Coordinators by next week -June 13! Send Coach and Ref Volunteers Volunteer position training schedules

Neighborhood teams for K-1-2
Team Balancing starts 3rd Grade

Distribute Coaches across as many Teams as possible Teams are randomized by eAYSO Software No Team Requests. Period. Some Coach/Volunteer Requests OK if Coaches are not needed elsewhere

Kindergarten teams
5 players per team Games are 3 vs 3 No weekly practice One hour per week hour practice followed by a hour game
Girls Saturday Boys Sunday

1st, 2nd grade teams


8 players per team Games are 5 vs 5 One Practice per week One game per week
Girls Saturday Boys Sunday

3 volunteers per team 2 coaches and Team Parent

4 volunteers per team Coach, Asst. Coach, Referee and Team parent

Volunteers are critical teams without volunteers will be disbanded

Kindergarten 2nd grade (U6-U8)

If registrations are received by June meetings:


Teams formed based on location/school Player will play with classmates/neighbors

For registration received over the summer:


Players are placed on teams that have space Additional teams are formed No guarantee that player is placed on a team within their location

Coach requests may/may not be honored

Location codes
1 Willowbrook 2 - Westbrook 3 - Lyon (north of Lake Ave.) 4 - Henking (west of Washington) 5 Henking (east of Washington) 6 - Lyon (south of Lake Ave.) OLPH/St. Catherine players are placed according to location and are typically placed with at least one other player from OLPH

Important Team Formation Dates


Early June teams for U6-U8 are formed; volunteers are recruited. Rosters are not finalized players may continue to be added to teams July/Early August teams for U10-U16 are formed, Coach and Referee Training Late August walk in day to pick up uniforms, final rosters, schedules September 7/8, 2013 Fall Season begins

Parent Responsibilities/Information
Opening Weekend Sept 7/8 thru Nov 2/3 Girls Play Saturday 12-4pm (K,1st Grade @ Gallery) Boys Play Sunday 12-4pm (2nd, 3rd Grade @ Flick) First Teams to play set Up/Last Teams take down nets Shin Guards are Required Gym or Soccer shoes are fine. NO Baseball cleats. Players may not wear jewelry, NO Earrings (taped or otherwise), NO Bracelets or hard Hair Clips/Barretts Register as a Volunteer www.eAYSO.org MyEAYSO

Coaches Coach Referees Ref Parents Cheer Make it Fun!-

Volunteers
Every volunteer needs to fill out a form every year.
New volunteers must mail a copy of the volunteer form and photocopy of ID to Glenview AYSO Make sure to electronically sign your form! Go to www.eayso.org

Coach/Assistant Coach - ~2.5 hrs/wk
AYSO Coach and Safe Haven certification
FREE!!! And all online until U-9 Coach training/skills training/professional coach sessions each week

Referee - ~1.5 hrs/wk


AYSO Referee and Safe Haven certification
FREE!!! And mostly online- companion course in person

Division/Team Parent Safe Haven certification


~2 hrs for the first week only, then 10-20 min/wk after

EXTRA Play Program


AYSO EXTRA is a new PROGRESSIVE PLAYER PROGRAM designed for players who have the desire, skills and abilities to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer while retaining the spirit of and organization membership in AYSO. EXTRA strengthens AYSO by attracting players and volunteers through more competitive play. In Glenview, players are required to play as part of both a primary program team as well as their EXTRA team and participate fully with both teams. Currently open to 3rd grade and up.
