THERMOSTAT CHECK AND COMPRESSOR'S MAGNETIC CLUTCHOPERATION CHECK ( 1 ) D i p t h e t h e r m o s t ai t n e n g i n eo i l . (2) Checkfor continuity acrossterminals (3) and compressor body earth when the engineoil is heated: Standard value: Continuity at approx. 110'C or less at A point No continuityat approx. 155'C or more at B point (3) While the thermostat is on, connectterminal(1) at the compressor side to the positive(+) terminal of the battery and earth the negative(-) terminalof the batteryto the compressor. The conditionof the compressor's magneticclutch can be considered satisfactory if the operation sound(a "click" sound) of the magneticclutch can be heard when this check is made.
