Engine
The Volvo D11C is a 11-litre in-line six-cylinder
diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooler. It features a onepiece cylinder head,
overhead camshaft, four valves per cylinder
and electronically controlled unit injectors. Onboard diagnostic, Volvo EMS2 engine control
system, Engine software protection and onboard diagnostic to detect, warn and to take
action for malfunctions leading to increased
emission. Engines full Euro 5 emission level

Exhaust and Cooling System


Stainless steel exhaust system with SCR catalytic converter, AdBlue pump and 60 l urea
tank. Urea tank is mounted behind the rear
axle, on the right side of the chassis. Catalytic
converter is integrated with the silencer. On
Board Diagnostics that alerts the driver if the
level of air pollutants in the exhaust gases
is excessive and when AdBlue relling is
needed. Fluid cooled, pressurized, sealed
cooling system, pump driven by the engine.
The radiator consists of modern aluminum
heat exchangers. The cooling module can
be swung out for easy access.

Air operated spring brake acting directly on
the rear wheels. Application is innitely variable
by means of a control on the fascia.

Vehicle Structure
The frame structure consists of frame rails,
engine frame rails, cross members and inner
liners all bolted together. Frame members are
made of high strength carbon steel except
for structures with body interface, where
stainless steel is used.

supplied. Dashboard with two satellites on
the right and the left side. Adjustable steering
wheel, both height and tilt. Self canceling

Electrical system
The electrical system is a 24-volt system,
where the chassis and engine frame are used
as a ground. Optional battery box which is
placed under the drivers seat, contains two
serial connected 12-volt batteries. Volvo Multiplex with electronic databus system for data
transmission, bus systems control, monitoring
and coordination of all devices installed on
the bus. Multiplex 2 also provides diagnostic
information for driver and workshop. It features
electronic control of the Engine Management
System, transmission and suspension. For
testing, callibrating and programming of the
control units can be used a PC based software
package VCADSPro. The system is equipped
with main cut-off switch: electricity, engine or
engine and fuel cut-off.
