12. Explain in detail the open cycle , closed cycle and combined cycle operation of gas power plant

ModuleII

13. a)A generating station supplies the full loads of 15MW , 12 MW , 8.5MW , 6MW &0.45MW.The annual load factor of the system is 48%.Calculate 1) no:of units supplied annually 2)diversity factor and 3)demand factor if the station has a maximum demand of 22MW b) Differentiate between load curve and load duration curve Or 14. a)Explain in detail the different types of tariffs b)An industry has a maximum demand of 100kW .Two alternate tariffs are as follows i)A fixed charge of Rs60/kW/annum + a running charge of 10 ps /unit ii) A charge of 12ps/unit If the factory runs for 3000 hours with a load factor of 80% find which tariff is economical and by how much?
ModuleIII

15. The cost per km for each of the copper conductor of a section asqcm for a transmission line is Rs(2800a + 1300).The load factor of the load current is 80% and the load factor for the losses is 65%.The rate of interest and depreciation is 10% and the cost of energy is 10ps/kWh .Find the most economical current density for the transmission line by the use of Kelvins law.Given =1.78x10-8m Or 16. Explain the radial and ring main distribution system
