TECHNICAL REPORT OF SITE VISIT TO EOBI FOUR STAR HOTEL

We have visit a construction site of Eobi Four Star Hotel on Friday 17th Feb on Friday.

DESCRIPTION:

A 4-Star Hotel & Mixed Use Development Project consisting of 270 Guest Rooms, 46 single & duplex apartments and retail spaces Development Plot Area: 13,200 sq. yards. Adjoining Plot Area (for temporary facilities only): 11,495 sq. yards. Proposed No. of Floors:16 (4 basements + LG + G + 10 floors) Total Covered Area (including parking):1,022,612 sq. ft. (95,038.27 sq. m) Parking Area: 373,503 sq. ft. (34,712.22 sq. m) Parking facility for 827 cars & 1,500 motor cycles

EXCAVATION:
The excavation work is completed when we visited the site. There was an excavation of 60 to 70 ft below natural ground level. Before the execution of excavation the pile is introduced along the outer periphery of project area. The pile is anchorage at various depths according to the design in

order to avoid any damage due to lateral earth pressure. The excavation is proceeds through steps. There is about 60 to 70 ft of depth. On the left side of the figure the piles along with anchorages is shown in the figure below.

REINFORCEMENT FIXING AND SHUTTERING:

When we visited the side the reinforcement fixing and shuttering of pads of raft footing and columns is in progress. Steel shuttering is used for columns and pad. While in case of roof slab specially water resistant ply is used that is imported from china. This ply can be used approximately about 6 to 8 times repeatedly. The use of this special water resistant ply wood will gives smooth surface of concrete. There is no need of plaster after. The figures of reinforcement fixing of pads and columns and shuttering of roof slab is shown in the figures below.

CONCRETE STRENGTH AND MIX DESIGN RATIO:

Normally the ratio that has been used for concreting is taken by weight. Batching plant is available at site. Different items have different concrete strength. Concrete strength of columns ranges from 5000 psi to 7000 psi. and concrete used for roof and slabs its strength according to specification book of the project is 5000psi.

CURING:
Curing is also done by using water sprinkler.

SHORTCRETING:
When we reaches the site shortcreting of piles is taking place.
