To Whom It May Concern:

I did the right thing when Robb called up our banner after his old man got axed in KL. Things looked reasonable at first. Robb seemed a decent fighting man and his wolf even bit the fingers off ol Umber for mouthing off. That is a man I can get behind! He captured Jaime Lannister, which was pretty impressive and he made a smart deal with Frey. It all seemed like things were flowing along just fine and made sense. I mean, the Lannisters are not a family to mess with unless you are prepared to play hardball. You know the song? That should warn you right there.

But then Robb let's that punk Theon go back home to ask daddy to come join us. Really? We are all men of property with holds to run and land to manage, but apparently Robb thinks Greyjoy will fight for him because his weasely kid says 'please'. And NO contingency plan at all if it didn't go exactly as Robb wanted. This is the guy I was supposed to blindly follow? I should have known when he needed his mommy to come to war with him that things were not looking good. And inspite of winning battles, he was losing the war. So I'm not managing my lands and risking my life and everything I've worked for, because the Starks have a stick up their arse about honor and being nice?

I tried to have a little talk with Robb about this. I explained the Flayed Man symbol and pretty much told him I'd rather torture a guy than kill him if it gets us what we need. But he blows that off and still thinks I'm going to stay by his side out of a sense of honor. I thought he'd get some reality therapy from the Theon mess but I'm thinking he's just not that bright. I talk to him about torturing people, and he continues to wander around with those dopey brown deer eyes talking about honor and what is "right". Things were looking worse and worse.

Then, his mommy lets Jaime Lannister go. Just leave the camp! Again, apparently, thinking the Lannisters will free her kid because she said 'pretty please'. I mean really, WTF? And you know what Mr. "You are honorbound to fight on my side because I am your crappy king of nothing yet" does about his mom? Gives her a stern talking to and sends her to her room! What happened to ripping off someone's fingers for back talking? To make it all even worse, he then takes that honor that he is all "holier than thou" about, folds it into a little ball, and shoves it where the sun don't shine all because he has the hots for some foreign nurse. I mean, really! Bang her if you want..."It's good to be the king!" but he completely blew up one of the smartest moves he has made because he had a hard on for some chick! So much for honor!

Here I am, on the losing side of a war against the Lannisters and Tyrells, the most powerful families in the kingdom. My land is going to hell because I'm not there to manage it. And the guy who has convinced himself I am supposed to lose everything I have, including my life, because of "honor' has made it pretty clear he will toss honor aside

when it doesn't suit him. Look at it! He is okay with my losing EVERYTHING as long as he doesn't upset his mommy or his twu wuv too much. Was there anything in my character development that indicated I was that stupid?

THEN, his precarious sense of honor manages to reassert itself JUST IN TIME to start CHOPPING OFF HEADS OF HIS LORDS! Granted Karstark was wrong, but he is hot tempered and at least he was doing something instead of hanging around in a tent banging his wife. Does anyone else here have their wife or their mommy in camp? Oh that's right, he CAN"T send them to Winterfell because he LOST it, along with his kid brothers, because he couldn't imagine their HOSTAGE wouldn't stay loyal when sent home. Referring to Theon there, not the other HOSTAGE they sent home expecting him to behave honorably for no real reason (aka Jaime). Yeah. I'm going to stay with this party. That seems like a good idea. For chrissake, I'm not much of a fan of honor anyway. You'd think Robb would've caught on to that with my whole "Let's torture them first!" conversation. But oh no,

So, yeah, I set up the Starks. Not like they made it hard. Afterall, everyone is supposed to be honorable except them when it doesn't suit them. Where was the honor in my risking my men and my life so they could just let Jaime go? Or blow off a needed alliance? So, no, I"m not apologizing just because I'm smarter at taking care of my family and my responsibilities than Robb. ~~~Yours Truly, L Bolton
