Tim Matthews, writing in 1998, has related much of the following about flying military vehicles tested during and after World War II which resembled flying saucers and used early stealth technology. His beliefs as repeated in some details here include that the 1-2% of unexplained UFO phenomena have been and are just such vehicles. He notes that many World War II files are still kept secret though it is well-known that as the war wound down the U.S. via Operation Paperclip captured German scientists, and sent them to Fort Bliss, Texas, before dispersing them to work on rockets and other secret projects in the U.S. and Canada including Vertical Take Off and Landing vehicles (VTOLs).

The Nazi Luftwaffe or Air Force had needed such VTOLs for defending airfields from Allied bombing. Matthews gives details about the V173 (later XF5U1 and still later a jet-powered flying pancake for the U.S. navy). Matthews says secrecy continues today because of extremely important advances made first by the Nazis and later the U.S. He notes there is a radial-flow engine for supersonic flight and great VTOL performance; electrostatics, being a revolutionary propulsion technology, could threaten the existing economy; a circular wing provides stealth ability and effective handling; and radial-flow provides maneuvers like flying edge-on such as if often reported about UFOs. Speculatively U.S. saucers, mostly used for spying, have increased much in size since begun in Germany; a 1952 CIA memorandum noted saucers might also be used for psychological warfare, so the less people knew about such craft of the U.S. and Allies, the greater the effect when they openly appeared for example in a nuclear war. Incidents related to photos taken via a telescopic technique used by John Lenard Walson in 2007, have caused some wonder if such U.S. craft may now be in earth orbit or beyond and with missile and bombing capabilities. Matthews cites references for crediting much of the technology and information about UFOs built by the military-industrial complex. He speaks of a Professor Heinrich Focke designing FW6, Fa223, Fa226, Fa283 and 284 model aircraft, the turbo-shaft propulsion used in todays helicopters, a patented vehicle with enclosed twin rotors. He notes the troubled AS6 (V1) built by Messerschmidt partly designed by Alexander Lippisch at the Gottingen Aviation Institute and similar to the U.S. Navys V173 flying flapjack from 1942 and developed at Chance-Vought in Connecticut for STOL ability.

The Lippisch Supersonic Flying Wing was said never built but perhaps it was since it is so remindful of triangular UFOs reported in the 1980s and 1990s, although the F-117 Nighthawk or similar craft could be another possibility. A more advanced XF5U1 was also tested. German brothers Reimar and Walter Horten developed early Stealth capable wings. In 1946 Chance-Vought similarly used metalite in circular wings. In Der Spiegel of March 30, 1950, Flight Captain Rudolph Schriever who had been a Luftwaffe captain and aircraft designer, said he and others at two facilities near Prague developed a flying saucer-type vehicle. He said engineers worldwide experimented in the early 1940s with such vehicles. He claimed a test model was finished in 1944 for flying it in 1945 but the Soviets advanced too fast. However George Klein said in the November 18th, 1954 Tages Anzeiger that he had seen a saucer tested February 1945. It rose 30,000 feet in 3 minutes with a speed of hundreds of miles per hour, ray-guided and with a gyroscope provided stability.

In Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, Robert Jung says Nazi researchers produced the Delta (Lippisch and Horten, TM) and flying discs. They were built by specialists Rudolph Schriever, Klaus Habermohl and Dr. Walter Miethe; also the Italian engineer (turbine expert) Giuseppe Belluzzo. The craft rose February 14, 1945 over Prague and in three minutes was nearly 8 miles high. The speed of 1,250 mph doubled in later tests. Soviets captured Habermohl in May 1945 after some testing had been done and filmed over a runway, the footage now secreted. He worked on projects for them near Moscow. Miethe later made similar vehicles at A.V. Roe and Company for the U.S.

Chance-Vought, builder of the V173 and XF5U1 prototypes, moved operations to Texas in early 1947 where many Nazi scientists had been sent. In the late 1940s and 1950s there were many UFO sightings in New Mexico and on the West Coast. UFOs were spotted around the White Sands Proving Ground where many Nazi scientists also worked. A report by Gerald K Haines and an Air Technical Intelligence Center report on Project Silver Bug declassified in 1995, showed that prototype saucers were test-flown at least before 1955 to see if they could be dispersed to reduce vulnerability to any possible future Soviet attack.

Flying saucers may have appeared at Groom Lake, Nevada, in 1959 or 1960, not operated by CIA or National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) but US Air Force Flight Test Centre Detachment 3 (AFFTC Det 3). AFFTC has its headquarters at Edwards Air Force Base, formerly Muroc Field. Miethe mostly worked for the USAF although subcontracted to AVRO, a possible cover. It was deliberately made known that the U.S. was building a saucer-like vehicle, the AVROCAR hovercraft that was a flop, while the military actually worked on more advanced craft.

The AVROCAR was designed in Canada; most flights made in the U.S. Canadian saucers were mentioned in some early 1950s newspaper articles and books including Donald Keyhoes popular 1953 book Flying Saucers From Outer Space. A June 14th 1955 (Volume 19) issue of Look showed a design study for a flying saucer from Thomas Turner, British aeronautical engineer with Republic Aviation Corporation. Turners proposed UFO closely resembled the ATIC aircraft, the Coanda effect, put a pilot in a prone position for high acceleration and quick turns, and positioned such craft inside underground facilities with sealed and camoflauged entrances. Such secret bases would be dispersed in remote parts of the U.S. (e.g. Washington State), possibly Canada (e.g. Calgary area) and the U.K. (Scotland), with the vehicles used sometimes for spying and shifted about unmarked at night.

George A. Flier (Majorstar@aol.com) says witnesses saw disc-type aircraft in hangars at the AVRO-Canada facilities near Malton, Ontario. These other craft had no connection with the AVROCAR but were guarded by USAF personnel. Bill Rose has had information that Area 51s Papoose Lake was where much testing has been done on saucer prototypes. Archaeologisthistorian Jerry Freeman wrote in the Las Vegas Sun of secretly entering there at twilight then reaching Papoose Dry Lake after several days where he spotted a security vehicle, hidden S4 facilities, and some kind of door opening in the rock face.

Electrogravitics Systems written 1952 mentions that a Project Winterhaven was for validating the Thomas Townsend Browns Biefeld-Brown effect. It said a saucer could be the basis of a possible interceptor with Mach 3 capability. Creation of a local gravitational system would confer upon the fighter the sharp-edged changes of motion typical in space. Glenn Martin (eventually Lockheed Martin) said gravity control could be achieved in six years but would require a huge Manhattan type effort. Their report was secreted from public view some 35 years by Air Force Aeronautical Laboratories at Wright Patterson AFB, declassified and made available via Technical Library in the early 1990s. Another concern for secrecy is that the military-industrial complex that former U.S. President Eisenhower warned about does not like it being brought up that after World War II, the complex, as said, brought Nazi scientists to the U.S. and used them in NASA project etc rather than imprisoning or executing them. Details about Operation Paperclip etc could outrage remaining holocaust survivors and descendants. When the details do come out the complex would likely respond that deals with the scientists were necessary because the Soviet Union was already using such scientists to try to gain an advantage over and destroy the U.S., the U.K. and others. There are indeed reasons to believe the Soviets have also built at least some UFO-type craft. Jan Aldrichs Project 1947 has worked to gather information about early sightings and media reports, some being interviews from Project Wringer which after the war got information from military, industrial and other people from former Axis countries, Prisoners of War in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, also displaced persons with intelligence or military information. In U.S. National Archives Aldrich found where a prisoner of war at Camp 1 in Stalingrad, U.S.S.R., said he saw two saucers in May 1953. (10. SOURCE: EP 134892, Rpt. No. 5418-47758; January 19, 1954) In the early 1950s the CIA concentrated on attacking UFO reports by doubting the credibility of witnesses although it has admitted it knew saucer prototypes were being built. The CIA may have misled the public, often directing UFO information requests to the Air Technical Intelligence Centre (ATIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Meanwhile the ATIC/WADC worked on Silver Bug and possibly activities. In March 1952 Project Grudge was downgraded, called Blue Book and headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Blue Book investigators could not explain away about 701 of 12,918 sightings they investigated. Project Blue Book was also downgraded, according to David Jacobs, after September 1953 and also Air Force regulation 200-2 said local Air Force base commanders could only discuss sightings if they had been solved and others should be classified. Project Blue Book Special Report Number 14, dated May 5th, 1955 and released in October said it did not believe flying saucers had overflown the U.S. In reality the CIA knew the British and Canadians were experimenting with flying saucers. Project Y was a Canadian-BritishUS operation to make a flying-saucer-type aircraft, and the CIA worried the Soviets were testing similar devices. George A. Filer (Majorstar@aol.com) has noted that when Senator Russell and his party saw a flying disc during a trip to the USSR in 1955, military intelligence personnel swept their highly credible sighting under the carpet. Possibly the Soviets deliberately displayed their own craft as a signal they did not buy the CIAs story and wanted the U.S. government to have an idea of what they could do by then.

Tim Matthews thesis seems thoughtful. However it does not address the numerous reports of UFOs that also come from before the 1930s far back in the 1800s, 1700s and centuries even milleniums before then. Nor does it answer, if UFOs are part of the U.S. military, why would U.S. military interaction with them sometimes be so negative? For example jets are sometimes sent to chase them. During World War II the army fired on them in Los Angeles. UFOs were reported over the White House in the 1950s. There have been situations where UFO

Colonel Ross Dedrickson, U.S. Air Force or Atomic Energy Commission has said that after retiring, he joined the Boeing company and was responsible for accounting for all of the nuclear fleet of Minuteman missiles. A UFO was photographed following a missile as it went into space. It shone a beam which neutralized the missile. A couple of nuclear weapons sent into space were destroyed by extraterrestrials. A U.S. nuclear weapon was launched to explode on the moon but they destroyed it in flight. Harland Bentley has stated that while in a graduate program dealing with NASA and the Department of Energy, in 1967 or 1968 he heard astronauts say they had seen a UFO, seen and photographed non-human beings inside through its ports. Such information suggests, then, that there is no U.S. Space Fleet or UFOs that are part of an earth-based military program.

Some would counter this, though, by pointing out that there may be a secret U.S. Space Fleet but not all parts of the U.S. military are aware of it since its existence is deliberately kept secret even from other military segments. Considering that massive UFO sightings have gone on from about the time of first nuclear tests 1940 until today, it would seem that in all that time there would have been so many leaks that such a fleet would by now be common knowledge, but the counter response would be that this just indicates how successful the effort at secrecy has been. In any case, the mystery continues.

UFOS AND ETS

An unidentified flying object, or UFO, is an object which seems to fly and which is unknown to the person who sees it. The existence of UFOs and extra-terrestrials or ETs is very disputed, people have reported such objects throughout history. Pictures of UFOs and ETs have been carved on boulders by ancient humans and appear in some European paintings. They are also mentioned in early sacred literature, for example the Vimanas of Hindu writings which were said to be flying vehicles with gods in them. Similarly the Christian Bible speaks of messenger creatures composed of energy or spirit, that is angels, and there is mention of flying chariots involving Elijah and Ezekiel.

This shows a 1561 woodcut made in Germany. In 1235 a Japanese general and his army reported globes of light flying in the night near Kyoto. In 1561 people at Nuremberg, Germany, reported seeing strange objects in the sky. They said small spheres and disk-shaped object came out of large cylinders and fought a battle in the sky. The French newspaper La Pays on June 17, 1864, published a story about two American geologists. It claimed they had discovered a mummified three foot tall hairless humanoid with something similar to an elephants trunk on its forehead. The creature was inside a hollow egg-shaped structure. The Missouri Democrat of St. Louis, Missouri, in October 1865 reported that James Lumley, a trapper in the Rocky Mountains, had reported investigating after a meteor fell near Great Falls, Montana. He had found rock fragments with curious hieroglyphics. They seemed to form an object that had compartments to it, and Lumley believed it was for transporting living beings. The first well-documented sighting of a UFO was in July of 1868, at Copiapo, a city in Chile. On January 25, 1878, the Denison Daily News said a farmer had seen a fast moving object in the sky. Many were reported in 1882 in Europe. Between 1887 and 1917 even more were reported in the U.S. and Europe.

The Los Angeles Times reported that on February 25, 1942, a few months after Pearl Harbor, the U.S. military around Los Angeles fired upon some manner of craft or crafts in the night sky. Many people now speak of the event a major UFO encounter. At the time the U.S. military had been on edge because a large Japanese submarine had a day and a half before surfaced 12 miles north of Santa Barbara and in 25 minutes fired twenty-five 5-inch shells at a petroleum refinery in the Ellwood oil field. The Fourth Interceptor Command had ordered a blackout from Ventura to Goleta but failed to dispatch attack planes, not even firing a single shot at the submarine. Suddenly in the dark night sky at least one enormous, attractively pale orange, round and glowing unknown craft or UFO appeared in the air over MGM studios in Culver City and later Santa Monica. Another eyewitness would there had been a single craft that appeared white and cigar-shaped. It was also likened to the hub of a bicycle wheel surrounded by gleaming spokes. However, years later in the February 22, 1998 UFO Roundup (Vol 3, Number 8) others stated there had been 25 silvery UFOs or crafts in a V formation. Regardless, spotlights were turned up into the sky, and blackout was ordered with the assumption being that there was at least one Japanese blimp, balloon or some other new kind of aircraft. At 2:25 a.m. in the clear winter night, the U.S. armys 37th Coast Artillery Brigades anti-aircraft batteries began firing about 1,400 to 2,000 rounds of 12.8 pound shells while hundreds of thousands to a million people watched despite warnings by fire-raid wardens to take cover. Most shells were apparently fired from near aircraft plants in the coastal area of Santa Monica, Inglewood, Southwest Los Angeles, and Long Beach. There are conflicting accounts that the army turned off its spotlights a while so that army fighter planes could go up and fire on the craft or crafts, but finding that their shooting made no difference, the fighter planes left within minutes and the artillery barrage resumed. Regardless, despite numerous direct hits, the craft or craftly safely, slowly moved on to Long Beach and then away. The blackout ceased at

7:21 a.m. However, at least six people and a few cows died as the result of heart-attacks and shells falling back to earth then exploding upon curious onlookers who had not gone into air-raid shelters. Two people were wounded. Although news accounts and witnesses definitely said there had been one or more craft or UFOs the military said the craft or crafts had been phantoms of jittery imaginations. An irritated Long Beach Independent responded "There is a mysterious reticence about the whole affair and it appears some form of censorship is trying to halt discussion of the matter." On July 8, 1947, the Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) said members of its 509th Bomb Group had found parts of a crashed UFO. However, the military later rescinded the statement.

Much legend, myth or factual-seeming science fiction has developed about aliens from other solar systems. The following is a compilation from persons who have claimed to know a lot about aliens and UFOs, sometimes from visits, including for example various writings from or about Michael E. Salla, George Adamski and Bob Lazar. On the other hand, many other people have said such information is false. In any case it is interesting. For example, there are many stories or reports of humanoids called Greys. Not all but many Greys are described as almost four feet tall, with grey skin or sometime blue-grey or green-grey skin. They have large heads, thin nostrils and slanted eyes.

Sighting of Greys are mostly mentioned in North and South America. Their civilization, is said to be extremely ancient, that is billions of years old, and in numerous star systems. As with humans, they are not all the same physically or in beliefs. Nordics are mentioned more in Europe. They are said to be very similar to Scandinavians and to have home planets among the Pleiades stars. Their hair is light blonde or white. Their eyes are red, yellow, green, blue or pink. They have an attractive appearance and are easily able to appear human, work and study humans in the different nations on the Earth. Of course these descriptions of ETs also reminds one that Earths folk literature is full of tales about various similar creatures of different sizes and appearances. For example there are stories of Irish leprechauns, Hawaiian menehunes, brownies, fairies trolls and giants. It is said that at least some of the Nordics own ancestors had been humans on Earth thousands of years ago, but a branch of the Greys abducted them, genetically modified them and put them on another planet with a harsh climate. There the Nordics survived, eventually developed their own civilization with space travel, and returned in small groups to mingle among the people of the Earth and explore it. Other groups of alien races are also mentioned. One is said to be from six feet tall to about nine feet tall, has pale skin and no hair. Another alien or ET race has vertical eye pupils and skin similar to the skin on the stomach of a lizard. Over the eons many different ET civilizations have visited Earth, but contact is more common now because the people of Earth have more abilities which pose greater dangers, and humans may also eventually travel to other planets. In 1953 American astronomers discovered large objects in space moving toward the Earth. They believed the objects were asteroids but later decided they must be spaceships. When they came to earth they orbited around the equator and there was radio contact with scientists and officials on Earth. Americans and the Greys agreed to meet in person.

However before they met, Americas President Dwight David Eisenhower was contacted by Nordics who were already on earth. In February 1954 the Nordics secretly met with Eisenhower, some of his officials and a few non-officials who were important in areas such as religion, science, military and industry. The Nordics asked Eisenhower and his officials to get rid of Americas nuclear weapons and treat the environment better in order to not destroy the Earths people and themselves. They said that if he did these things they would help protect the Earth from the Greys who were about to arrive and were more likely to harm humans. The Nordics said the Nordic civilization believed in peace and harmony as part of a culture in which religion and science had become the same thing. They did not want to give advanced technology to humans because they felt certain that humans would use it to destroy each other. However Eisenhower and the other officials rejected what the Nordics said. They felt that America must keep its atomic weapons to defend against the Soviet Union and also any other ETs from outer space who could be dangerous. Eisenhower wanted to tell the world about the ETs. However, other officials including military leaders convinced him to not do so. For example some humans might suicide, others might worship aliens, begin religious wars or give up positive religious values thinking founders such as Buddha or Christ had been ETs. Some might kill other humans because they thought they were ETs. Stock markets including military industrial stocks might collapse. Much of human civilization might be disrupted and harmed in predictable and unpredictable ways. Later in 1954 Eisenhower met the Greys, a species of the Greys who are tall and have long-noses. They landed in five different kinds of the spacecraft often called UFOs at Holloman Air Force base in New Mexico.

Betelguese
They said their branch of the Greys civilization had arrived from a planet orbiting Betelgeuse. It is a huge red star in the Constellation of Orion about 427 light years from Earth. They said their planet was dying and eventually they would not be able to live there. The Greys were more insistent than the Nordics about what they wanted. The President and those with him did not like all the treaty which the Betelguese Greys proposed, but they signed it because they knew America and the rest of the Earth could not successfully fight the Greys. They also worried about what would happen if the ETs too quickly made their presence known to the people on Earth. In the Geada Treaty of 1954 the Greys of Betelgeuse agreed that they would not interfere here if Earth would not interfere with their own civilization. They agreed to keep their presence on Earth secret and to provide some advanced technology to America but to no other nations on Earth. In exchange for non-interference and better technology, the United States agreed to let the Betelgeuse Greys medically examine cattle and take a few humans away, examine them, not harm them, then erase their memories and return them. This was to be part of a biological program for information the Greys were supposed to share. The Greys were also to provide a list of the people whom they medically examined and details about what they discovered.

There were meetings in locations besides New Mexico. Some were in California. However in the early 1960s the U.S. soon became aware that Greys were breaking the treaty on a massive basis by examining possibly a million more humans than the treaty said. They were also not returning all the humans. However, the U.S. high command knew that the Greys of Betelguese have the ability to instantly conquer the Earth but have not done so. Therefore they still appeared to be relatively peaceful, and it was possible that the problems were from a different, less friendly group of Greys which were abducting humans. For example some other Greys were known to be from the fourth planet orbiting the Zeta Reticuli binary stars system about 39 light years from Earth. In recent years human technology has advanced faster and faster. For example we now have the internet and Stealth aircraft. Young Bae, founder of the Bae Institute in Tustin, California, has built a photonic laser thruster (PLT) which may shorten a trip to Mars from six months to only one week. This may mean that Greys have given more technology to America in order to compensate some for the increased number of Americans who are reported to have been abducted or sent off of Earth. It is also said that members of the inner circle of the U.S. government do not want to pay for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligences efforts (SETI) because they know SETI does not and cannot succeed at searching for ET radio and television transmissions. SETI cannot find such transmissions because when advanced civilizations develop they relatively quickly, after maybe a century or two, use a device based on quantum mechanics to transmit voices and pictures to a similar device many light years away. This is done instantaneously without any form of waves having to travel through space, and so such transmissions can never be detected by SETI. It is also not possible to observe an ETs spacecraft unless such a vehicle comes to Earth. It is possible that ETs often do not feel any need to come here because they are able to observe what humans are doing anywhere on the place from millions and billions of miles away. Their observation devices may be able to peer through walls and also detect

human thoughts. If so normally the only reason to come to Earth would be so that humans can see them and become used to them. Humans have been gradually made more aware of UFOs and ETs. This has happened because the number of sightings have increased and also because cooperating humans have produced more movie and TV series that are positive about the existence of UFOs and ETs. Regardless of the rock drawing, paintings, references in various ancient holy writings around the Earth, modern legends, myths and written claims, it is known now that there are countless other stars with planets many of which may have water which is considered essential for life. Astronomers are constantly finding more such exo-planets. It is also good to remember that some scientists say Earth microbes can survive at least 100,000 years encased in ice. When sheltered in rocks ejected from volcanic eruptions or in reaction to meteorite impacts, some may have traveled still alive across space despite the radiation there to still other planets. The scientists Sir Fred Hoyle (19152001) and Chandra Wickramasinghe have promoted this Panspermia theory, although most scientists have not agreed with them. So, what if there are ETs from other planets visiting Earth or who may come to Earth in the future? Common sense would say that if there are such intelligent beings, then most may be neutral to friendly in attitude; and doubtlessly at least a few are very unfriendly, even dangerous. Many may function as part of large alliances or confederations. A few probably stay totally or almost totally by themselves. In any case, humans must learn to become safer in dealing with each other and the environment. This is because, whether ETs exist or not, we humans definitely do exist and we definitely are our own worst enemy.

Chupacabras are legendary creatures. Reports of them began in Puerto Rico. People say they suck blood from livestock. They have wings and they also have faces resembling the face of a human or dog. They have killed sheep, chickens, ducks and other animals. There are reports from Maine, New York, Florida, Oregon and Texas. Mexico has reports from Sonora and Juarez. Brazil, Nicaragua, Chile and Russia have also reported them. Chupacabras son criaturas legendarias. Los informes de ellos empezaron en Puerto Rico. Personas dicen que chupan la sangre de los ganados. A second theory is that the CIA created them in Puerto Rico. A third theory is that all the ancient giant bats of South America are not extinct. Cupacabras have been in comics, TV series, movies and songs. They have also been in videogames and webpages. Frecuentamente personas dicen que tienen ojos rojos hipnoticos. Some people think Bigfoots exist; other people think they do not. Europe has not had any reports of Bigfoots although ancient people in Scandinavia and England spoke of gigantic trolls. In 1427 Hans Schiltenberger wrote about hairy Wildmen or Almastis which he said he had seen when in Mongolia. In 1811 David Thompson, surveyor and trader, reported the creature now called a Bigfoot in Canada in his journal. Alguna gente cree que Bigfoots (Pies Grandes) existen; otra gente cree que no. On July 3, 2005 Mexican Silvia Gonzalez and two British scientists said that footprints in ash from the volcano Toluquilla that became fossils at Lake Valsequillo near Puebla Mexico came from humans 40,000 year ago. They also discovered many animal fossils there had the same date. Possibly humans came on boats from parts of Asia such as Japan as well as Australia. Perhaps their boats traveled from island to island along the continent of Asia to Siberia, Alaska, California and Ecuador.
