ACTIVITY 1 OBJECTIVE: to create interest in the topic to be debated CLASS ORGANISATION: whole-class activity ESTIMATED TIME: 5 minutes DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: The teacher tries to create a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere by means of routine conversation

ACTIVITY 2 OBJECTIVE: to open a discussion on daily routines and time CLASS ORGANISATION: whole-class activity ESTIMATED TIME: 5 minutes DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: the teacher asks the students different questions about their routine (What time you usually get up in the morning?, What is the first thing you do when you wake up?, Do you brush your teeth in the morning?). The students answer the questions. Where necessary the teacher gives an example of a possible answer

ACTIVIY 3 OBJECTIVE: Students will be able to describe their daily routine, practice their writing skills CLASS ORGANISATION: individual work ESTIMATED TIME: 15 minutes MATERIALS: worksheet 1

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: the students receive a handout. They have to match the image with the correct answer and then they have to talk about their own daily routines. The teacher checks the answers from exercise one. Also the teacher explains possible difficulties. After exercise one some of the students will talk about their routine, the teacher listens carefully and correct them where necessary. ACTIVITY 4 OBJECTIVE: tell the time, talk about daily routines, practice their writing skills CLASS ORGANISATION: individual work ESTIMATED TIME: 15 minutes MATERIALS: worksheet 2 DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: the students receive a handout. They have to draw the time and specify an activity. The teacher gives explanations where necessary and checks the answers together. ACTIVITY 5 OBJECTIVE: make the differences between different times of the day (i.e., morning, afternoon, evening) and articulate what activities may be appropriate for those times, practice their writing skills, practice their reading skills CLASS ORGANISATION: whole class activity, individual work ESTIMATED TIME: 15 minutes MATERIALS: worksheet 3 DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: the students receive a handout. The students have to give examples of activities that they do in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening in order to make the difference between different times of the day. They also have to read a text and then fill in the missing words. The teacher gives explanations where necessary and checks the answers together.
