JOB POSTINGS

These description incorporates the core responsibilities of the position. It is recognized that other related
duties not specifically mentioned might also be performed and that not all responsibilities may be carried
out depending upon operational needs. Additionally, this position has flexible hours and a non-traditional
work schedule.

Education Support Specialist Salary Range: $35,000 – 40,000 #2009-02

The incumbent in this position will:


• Provides direct advocacy and support to parents and youth with special needs; Serves as an
intermediary between the public school system and parents seeking to advocate for improvement in
their children’s education; Assesses the individualized needs of families and formulates strategies to
meet those needs in a timely and cost effective manner 20%
• Ability to perform specialized training in the area of special education; 20%;
• Attends educational meetings with parents and interfaces with DC public school personnel and
Attorneys; 20%
• Maintains and updates records, monthly reports and client files in an ethical and time sensitive manner;
10%
• Develops and cultivates community and parents relationships; 10%
• Contributes to quarterly newsletter, website and other publications; 10%

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma PLUS a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children, youth
and families in a community based setting,
• Case Management Experience.
• Exemplifies positive leadership;
• A valid driver’s license, be capable of driving, or licensed to drive within six-months of appointment
and is approved by our car service to drive their vehicles;
• Capable of working non-traditional hours and staggered work scheduling
• Fluent in Spanish a PLUS;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Great interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload;
• Intermediate knowledge of standard software applications (including but not limited to MS Word,
Excel, Access, Publisher, and Outlook).

Project Director - DCPIN Salary Range: $45,000 – 50,000 #2009-01

The incumbent’s specific duties include:

• Coordinating discussions and workshops the focus on leadership development, education, community
living, transition planning, and social justice topics; 20%
• Developing a youth program that supports the overall goals and objectives of the organization; 20%
• Provides direct advocacy and support to parents and youth with special needs; Serves as an
intermediary between the public school system and parents seeking to advocate for improvement in
their children’s education; 20%
• Assesses the individualized needs of families and formulates strategies to meet those needs in a timely
and cost effective manner; 20%
• Responsible for project compliance and reporting for the D.C. Parent Center @AJE; 20%
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS/BA degree plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience;
• Exemplify positive leadership;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• A valid driver’s license, be capable of driving, or licensed to drive within six-months of appointment
and is approved by our car service to drive their vehicles;
• Great interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload;
• Intermediate knowledge of standard software applications (including but not limited to MS Word,
Excel, Access, Publisher, and Outlook).

Data & Reports Manager Salary Range $40,000 - $45, 000 #2009-03

• Coordinate all data collection, compilations, and monthly statistical counts; Be responsible for
ensuring the timely completion of data and statistics for reporting; Draft and compile all monthly
reports. Be responsible for coordinating training, ensuring the accuracy of the information distributed
and collecting and evaluating registration and satisfaction survey forms.
• Responsible for coordinating and supporting Director of Programs in its effective program
implementation;
• Prepare general correspondence, insuring accuracy of the data and the timely delivery of documents
Maintain the organizations case files, general correspondence files, etc.
• Develop monthly workshop calendar and training schedules; Be responsible for the quality of and
timely circulation of the agency newsletters, publications and training notices;
• Responsible for the accurate and timely distribution of inter-office communications. Coordinates
activities and communications between sites.
