Criteria for identifying and training students of Class 7 to Class 10 who can evolve as Potential designers.

How to inculcate the habit of Creative Design for school going children? 1. Additional classes after school on art like poster design, paper craft, sculpture/clay modeling etc. 2. Have proper teacher who is educated in the art field to impart proper knowledge 3. Hold creativity related competitions like drawing/painting, flower arrangement, clay modeling, poster design, greeting card, paper craft etc. 4. Felicitate/recognize/appreciate creative talent so that kids and their parents are motivated. 5. Inform parents and kids on the different avenues that are available to kids who are creatively inclined so that parent dont demotivate them. 6. Purchase good foreign books that increase knowledge and impart the processes to approach creativity correctly. How to identify kids (Class 7 onwards) who has potential & can evolve to become designers? 1. Teachers need to notice each student during art related classes and identify those who are taking genuine interest to perform those tasks. 2. Teachers should identify practical copies of each student and identify those who does these task beautifully and neatly all through the year and make sure these are done by the student themselves and not by somebody at home. 3. Identify the students those who perform best in the art related competitions and whose work has innovation and original thinking. 4. Notice students who proactively volunteer for creative extracurricular activities and identify those who

consistently do the creative tasks in a mixed group for any project.

Different ways in which they can be assessed 1. Their performance in creative classes 2. Their proactivity towards the creative/art related classes and the tasks therein. 3. Their innovation during these classes. 4. Their intension towards their future regarding this creative inclination i.e. whether they want to pursue this as their career.

What should be the training program ? 1. Design is a vast area, and identifying a particular arm that can be approached by children is the first task. 2. Involving a person well versed with design education to chalk out a curriculum is mandatory. 3. What design is and how it impacts our daily life: this should be educated to the children and their parents. 4. Activity that increases the creative sparks should be practiced. There are good books that can show the path. 5. Basic understanding about design theory should be shared before jumping into the practical aspects. 6. Lots of practice classes and post lesson project is necessary.

Difference between fine art and illustration 5. The basics needed to be in creative field like sketching, drawing which is a must to express ones creative thoughts 6.
