AnInvestigationintothefactorsaffectingtherateofreactionbetweenmagnesiumandhydrochloric acidPlanning *Hypothesis Ipredictthatasthetemperatureincreases,thespeedofthereactionwillincreasethereforethegaswill beproducedfaster.Ibelievethisbecausemostchemicalreactionshappenfasterwhenthetemperature ishigher.Athighertemperaturesmoleculesmoveraroundfaster,whichmakesiteasierforthemtoreact together.Usually,ariseof10OCwilldoubletherateofreaction. Chemicalreactionstakeplacebychance.Particlesneedtocollidewithenoughvelocitysothatthey react.Asthetemperatureisincreasedtheparticlesmovefastersincetheyhavemoreenergy.Thismeans thattheyarecollidingmoreoftenandmoreofthecollisionshaveenoughvelocitytocauseareaction. Sincetherearemorecollisionsthechemicalreactiontakesplacefaster. *PilotExperiment Todecideonthebestvolumeandconcentrationofhydrochloricacidandbestmassofmagnesiuma numberofcalculationsweredoneandapilotexperimentconducted.
