SRM University is one of the few universities in the country with an international network of advisors from varsities and industries worldwide. These alliances give the university access to the latest curriculum of global standards. The teaching models too are formulated in such a manner that the students are made to learn through experiments and projects, rather than stick to Chalk and Talk. Learning through discovery concept is also being actively pursued for imparting fundamental knowledge to the students. As for SRM, we follow the motto Learn, Leap, Lead.

A large number of institutions which are known in India and abroad are found located in the city, of which mention may be made of the Theosophical Society, the Kalakshetra and colleges of Arts and Crafts. The establishment of professional colleges like Engineering, Medical, Veterinary, Law and Teaching, the location of the Indian Institute of Technology and the establishment of Central Leather Research Institute have added to the development of the city. Chennai is one of the leading cities in India today from the point of view of trade and commerce, with the fourth largest port in the country and the first to have developed a fullfledged container terminal to international standards. Fairs and festivals are held in the different parts of the city throughout the year. The festival associated with Hindu temple are more than 500 in a year.

The Meenakshi Temple in Madurai is a huge temple with very impressive architecture and carvings. Tourism spots: India has the perfect spots of attraction, to captivate all types of tourists. Whether an adventurous tour, cultural exploration, beautiful beaches or scenic mountain resorts, India has got it all. Tamil Nadu, originally known as Madras state, is located in the south-eastern part of India. The main language spoken is obviously Tamil and it spans an area of about 130,058 km2 and a population of 62,110,839. Tamil Nadu is the home to a number of temples, pilgrim centers, beaches and more. Chennai (Madras): Chennai is the capital city of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Chennai is the fourth most populous metropolitan area and the fifth most populous city in India. Located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, Chennai city had a population of 4.34 million in the 2001 census within the area administered by the Corporation of Chennai and an extended Metropolitan Population of 6.5 million. Chennai has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical wet and dry climate. The city lies on the thermal equator and is also on the coast, which prevents extreme variation in seasonal temperature. The weather is hot and humid for most of the year.
