ion 1. Teacher asks questions about the places that they have been to during the holidays. 2. Pupils share their experiences. Presentation
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Teacher shows a map of a town. Pupils identify the buildings on the map. Teacher gives a situation on how to go to the food court from Jalan Bandar. Teacher models on how to give directions and pupils repeat after the teacher. Teacher emphasizes the prepositions of direction. Examples: go straight, walk along, turn left, turn right. 6. Teacher gives more examples using the same map.
Practice 1. Teacher drills the pupils with the sentence patterns. 2. Pupils work in pairs, ask and give direction to a place of their choice using the same map. Production 1. Pupils role play the situation between a tourist and a local people. 2. Pupils give comments. Reflection. Based on the micro teaching and the lesson plan that I have done, I managed to get a few good and weaknesses . During the set induction, I could make it more interesting with showing picture cards of interesting places in Malaysia such as beaches, waterfalls, mountains and historical places to arouse pupils attentions. Then, I could ask them where did they went for their holidays, so by looking at the pictures the pupils could be able to
answer teachers questions easier. By giving the pictures they could build their own imagination, imagining that they have been to the places before. Meanwhile, in the presentation step, it is better if the teacher could make up a sentence pattern to make sure that the pupils were able to follow the lesson. Here, the teacher could also make the sentence cards, so that the pupils could be able to understand the uses and differences of the prepositions of direction taught. It is also easier for the teacher to teach the sentence pattern and make the pupils repeat the sentences. During the practice step, it is good for the teacher to ask the pupils to work in pairs because here the teacher could monitor the pupils work easily. For the last step that is during the production, the teacher had a very good intention to allow the pupils to role play the dialogue but the teacher should use the same sentence pattern and allow the pupils to interact with each other using different characters that they liked. Overall the lesson is an easy lesson to carry and simple to understand.
