EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Bunguiao National High School is situated in a barangay which is quite far from the hearts of the city of Zamboanga . Its students are not exposed with modern technology. Taking into account of the many factors that affect the students level of academic performance. Data show that students achievement is 25.0% below standard. Frustration Reading Comprehension Level is high, thus adopting a program dubbed as READY HOTS. OBJECTIVES

III. Rationale: Reading is a tool for scholastic success. The goals of reading are wide ranging, but essentially the reader aims to understand the meaning of the text, evaluate its significance, and use what he or she has read to enhance his or her knowledge, effectiveness or pleasure. It is obvious that through reading, individuals vocabulary improves, the more words he/she will know, and the more he/she will be able to read and to understand what he/she reads in this information age. IV. Objectives: This project is intended to improve students academic performance especially to be efficient in reading. If one intends to study effectively one must read efficiently, that is, to read, comprehend and digest the information gained and store it in ones memory and to retrieve it when needed. V. Methodology: Students are asked to read and to list new and unfamiliar words in a notebook which will be provided by the school for FREE, look for meanings from a dictionary or even ask from their teachers or someone who knows the meaning. If one intends to be a good reader, six key words or questions are involved in reading or studying: WHO? WHAT? WHERE? WHEN? WHY? and HOW?. They are known as the five Ws which in reality includes an H.

Rudyard Kipling once a journalist, has this to say about them. I keep six honest serving men

(They taught me all I knew) Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who Students need to develop good reading habits. They must know how to find answers to these questions because they will apply to every subject they read. It is therefore imperative for the teachers to be more involved in their students progress in reading with understanding, for them to become good and effective scholars in the future.
