Cast: Narrator 1 Narrator 2 Moses Man 1 Man 2 Man 3 Girl Israelite Solider 1 Israelite Solider 2 Reubenite Gad Guy

Manasseh Man (Two narrators enter) Narrator 1: Near the end of BaMidbar, there is a parashah called Matos. Narrator 2:it was a very difficult parsha for Moses because in it he had to make a lot of important decisions. Narrator 1:Somethimes G-d told moses how to decide Narrator 2:other times, Moses was left on his own (Moses enters) Moses: Next! (Man 1 and Man 2 enter) Man 1: Moses, youre not going to believe this! Moses: I head G-d talk to be from a burning bush. I saw the sea of reeds part. I faced G-d on Sinai. So, try and tell me something unbelievable. Man 1: My brother lied! Man 2: I did not lie. I just I was going to do one thing and then I did another. Is that do bad? Moses: It depends. What kind of promise did you make? Man 2: I cant tell you. Its between G-d and I. Moses: A vow made to G-d is a big deal. You must keep your word, or pay a price. Man 1:(to man 2) I told you it was a big deal, Now do you promise not make a vow again unless you plan to keep it? Man 2: You have my word. (man 1 and man 2 exit) Moses: Next!

( a girl enters with man 3) Man 3: Moses, I am having a problem with this girl. Moses: What seems to be the problem. Man 3: She is my child. And thats the problem! Moses: and, go on, explain Man 3:I heard her make a vow to G-d, a vow she could never keep. So I asked G-d to ignore it. Girl: Its not fair! I can make any vow to G-d I want. Cant I? Man 3: tell him what you vowed, dear. Girl: I vowed never to eat manna again. Its yucky! Moses: Have you tried it with ketchup, you can dip or squeeze. Man 3: She has to eat manna. Theres nothing else to eat! Moses: Your father is right. Girl: But its my vow, not his! Moses: According to G-d, when a father hears a daughter make a vow, then he is allowed to cancel that vow. Girl: Well, I cant wait till I grow up and get married. Then no one can cancel my vows. Moses: Well about that Girl: about what? Moses: actually, your husband can cancel them too. Girl: then Im never getting married. I swear it. (girl exit) Man 3(yelling to the sky) cancel that! (man 3 exits) Moses: oh my aching head so many decisions for an old man. Im just glad G-d made the laws so clear. Narrator 1: Bust Moses didnt realize that the hardest decisions were still to come Narrator 2: And G-d wound not tell him exactly what to do. Narrator 1: It all happened during the war with the Midianites. Narrator 2: G-d had ordered Moses to go to war against Midian, because the Midianites men and women had tricked the Israelites into worshiping idols. (Israelite soldiers enter) Israelite Soldier 1: Moses! We have won the war against Midian! Israelite Solider 2: We have defeated their kings, conquered their land, and captured all their cattle. Moses: and what became of their men? Israelite Solider 1: There are none left. Moses: what about their women?
