tool started selling in 2010 and to protect company interests, a patent application was immediately filed. The entire patent process took approximately two years. Like all other projects, this tool was a learning process. Each tool prototype showed whether or not certain concepts worked for the design and to the customers satisfaction. It took several different approaches, studies and tests to create the final version that perfected the right geometry for the blade to generate the best results. Model Maker Gary Parsons was instrumental in creating excellent prototype parts throughout the entire prototype process. This is Tad's 13th patent with Ripley. "It is exciting to see a patent granted," says Tad. Tad currently has two additional tools in patent pending status now.

SOCIAL MILESTONES
Our divisions on the web!
We may not always keep an eye on our social networks, but the rest of the world hasn't had a problem keeping an eye on us! Recently Ripley has hit 30,000 total video views on Youtube and the numbers are increasing from there. Following in their footsteps Capewell has attracted views from around the world on their Wordpress blog account and MH Rhodes Cramer is now up and running on several social platforms as well! Thirty thousand views may not make Ripley "Youtube Famous", but it's certainly a milestone that most people have a hard time hitting. Not to mention, all of these views have been achieved in about a year! That is just about 2,500 videos per month! We offer huge congratulations to the Ripley division on this impressive feat and cannot wait to see the numbers rise from here! While Ripley has been attracting views on Youtube, Capewell is building a solid foundation on its Wordpress account. Over the last few months the Capewell division has grown a small, but active group of followers and has a steady stream of positive feedback coming its way. At this time there are 20 articles posted on the account, which adds up to two blog posts per week that have connected activity with Twitter and Facebook efforts. During the time Capewell was at the PIA Event, the division posted blog content centering around the parachute industry while advertising for a contest on their other social networks. The winners of this event plan to be announced later

this week. Last but certainly not least, MH Rhodes Cramer has now joined the Capewell and Ripley divisions on various social networks! While Capewell has launched their profile on Instagram earlier this month, MH Rhodes Cramer can be seen boosting activity on Facebook and LinkedIn. The newest of their social networks include Instagram and Wordpress. Utilizing these social networks to the fullest MH Rhodes Cramer has advertised a contest for a Jambox Speaker System and will be announcing the winner in early May. MAKE A WISH
T-Shirts & Contributions
Helping others and having fun, too! Folks at Capewell are very generous and constantly reach out to support our community in many ways! During holiday seasons, folks donate food products to support beloved soldiers and local food pantries along with "adopting" local families to enjoy a better Christmas. At the beginning of this year, our Human Resources department thought it would be great to have a little more fun at the office while reaching out to our community. At the onset, this campaign was to be more! With all the ideas brought to the table, the one that held strong was "Wacky T-Shirt Wednesdays!" One Wednesday per month, employees wear a t-shirt (or shirt) of specific color in support of a specific group. For instance, March was: St. Patrick's Day shirt or orange to recognize Kidney disease.

to eat healthy, and stay fit. Here are a few easy and often delicious ways to boost your metabolism to keep you fit in 10 seconds or less! 1. Add one or two tablespoons of toasted wheat germ to your morning cereal, yogurt or smoothies. Wheat germ has a slightly sweet, nutty flavor and is loaded with minerals, vitamin E, fiber, protein, omega 3 fats and almost one-third of your daily requirement for folate. You can usually find it at your local grocer in the cereal aisle. It will also make you feel a bit "fuller" so you can curb that urge to "pick" later in the morning. 2. Add broccoli sprouts to your salads and sandwiches. Cancer researchers from John Hopkins, developed these sprouts to aid in cancer fighting nutrition for their patients. They are filled with fiber and vitamin C, and are much higher than mature broccoli heads in delivering the cancerfighting biochemical called sulforaphane. These tasty sprouts contain 20-100 times more of the natural cancer-prevention agent. They may be a bit harder to find, but most organic food stores have them. 3. Add fresh salsa to your eggs, vegetable, pastas or poultry dishes. The cooked tomato base of the salsa will provide a quick dose of lycopene, vitamin C, potassium and fiber. Most grocery stores now carry cartons of fresh salsa in their refrigerated produce sections. This will also "wake up" your taste buds and give a new twist to your old favorites. 4. Flavor your beans, poultry and rice dishes with turmeric or curry spices. Turmeric and curry are chock full of the golden yellow pigment, curcumin. These mini-miracle additives are powerful anti-inflammatory aids. Inflammation is your enemy, as it plays a fundamental role in the development of many chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, cancer and Alzheimer's. Just think how many good things you can do for your immune system with them in your
With the idea to collect a small donation from participants along with a corporate match of funds, it was agreed to move forward with our campaign to support a local organization where most of the donated funds are used to help others! To our delight, the Wacky Wednesday T-shirt Campaign raised a total of $365.00 from both facilities. With a corporate match, a grand total of $730.00 was our first donation to the "Make A Wish" Foundation of Connecticut. For a small company, that's no small potatoes! Congratulations! And "Thank you" to all who participate!
1. Briefly describe your role with the company -department, its function, and your general responsibilities. I am the Interactive Marketing Coordinator for both the Capewell and MH Rhodes Cramer divisions. As part of the marketing team it is my job to manage each division's social media accounts, further our social media efforts, create new advertisements, and assist the Senior Marketing Coordinator whenever possible on new projects! 2. Briefly describe your professional background and experience and the strengths you believe you bring to the company. This is my first professional position in marketing/social media, but I feel that my course of studies and prior knowledge of both marketing and media has prepared me for my position. I'm very excited about this position as it incorporates all the aspects I want in a career! 3. What do you like best about working at this company? That's hard to say! There are so many things I like! I think one of the best things is the atmosphere. Starting someplace new can be daunting, not really knowing anyone, but every person I've met is so welcoming that it's really hard to feel uncomfortable!

food! 5. Add canned pumpkin to your soups, pancakes, muffins and other baked goods. Pumpkin (even in cans) is a convenient and inexpensive food that is packed with nutrients. It's low in calories, high in fiber and provides a concentrated package of carotenoids, which play a huge role in the health of your heart, eyes, skin and immune system. You can find canned pumpkin in the baking aisle.
4. Please list any patents or business associations you belong to. I currently do not hold any patents. However, as far as business associations go I have written for the Journal Inquirer in the past. 5. Tell us about yourself (Family, interests, hobbies, college, military experience): Oh goodness, where do I start? My family is pretty small; I'm an only child so aside from myself that leaves my parents! Though I've taken this semester off of college (with the intent to return in fall) I attend Manchester Community College working towards a major in Video Game Design with a minor in Computer Programming. I guess that also gives away one of my hobbies; If I'm not busy I spend a good amount of time playing video games. Other than that I love to read, write, edit photos and create things in Photoshop, bake cupcakes and be with friends. 6. What is the smartest advice you ever received? Who was it from? The smartest advice I have ever received was from my mom (she's pretty cool!). It was simply to always be honest, not only to others but to myself as well. It's always the easiest things that are harder to stick to, right? We are often swayed by the opinions of others but there is something to be said for following intuition and staying true to yourself. 7. What was the best advice you didn't take, but now wished you had? I think the best advice I didn't take, but should have, was not to sell myself short. I try not to overestimate my abilities and skills as much as possible, but by doing that I sometimes forget to mention all of the things I do excel at. 8. Do you have any hidden talents? If so what are they? A magician never reveals her secrets! (; 9. If you were a superhero what super power would you have? I'm really big on comics and superheroes so this question is definitely challenging! If I had to pick I think I would want to have a power like Storm from Xmen that way I could have sunshine for fun at the beach and snow ready for the holiday season and lots of snowboarding! 10. What is the one food you will never give up? There are so many things I couldn't do without it is ridiculous! I guess I'll just go with the first answer that came to mind, and that is pasta! I absolutely love gnocchi and cavatappi ...they're so good!
*Note: We always think that eating salads will be the best for us when we go out, but many times we really do not realize how many calories can add up, so do yourself a favor - When dining out, always request that your salad dressing be on the side so you can control the portion. Also, save some of the salad in the plate for later if it is too large to eat at one sitting. Restaurant salads are often coated with heavy dressing, so you can save hundreds of calories and quite possibly have another meal for later at home!

11. What is your go-to stress reliever? Definitely my computer. After a particularly long and stressful day there is nothing I want to do more than sit on my computer to watch movies, play around in Photoshop, or find new music. It's perfect.

hook and ladder truck. Billy got to sit in the back of the truck and help steer on the way back to the station. He was in heaven. There were three fire calls that day and Billy attended all of them. He rode in different fire engines, the Paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. Not to mention he was videotaped for the local news program on his big day while having his dreams come true. With all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched, Billy lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital. She also remembered the day that Billy had spent as an honorary fireman and called the Fire Chief. She asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he passed. Upon receiving the call, the Fire Chief responded without hesitation, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes but please do us a favor. When you hear the sirens and see the flashing lights, will you announce over the PA system that there is not a fire. It is just the fire department coming to see one if its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?" About five minutes later the nurse did just that and a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital. The truck extended its ladder up to Billy's open window on the third floor and 16 firefighters, in uniform, climbed inside the room. With his mother's permission they hugged Billy and told him how much they loved him. In his final moments, Billy looked up at the fire chief and asked, "Chief, am I really a fireman now?" "Yes Billy, you most certainly are. The Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," The Chief responded softly. With those words Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day". Soon after that moment, Billy closed his eyes one last time. This story is powerful and there is nothing greater than human kindness. It doesn't take much to make one person's day that much brighter and it never hurts to go above and beyond the call of duty.
