To develop a world class quality education system which will realise the full potential of the individual and fulfill the aspirations of the Malaysian nation.

National Education Philosophy


Education in Malaysia is an on-going effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious, based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who possess high moral standards, and who are well responsible and capable of achieving high level of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at large.

NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY


The national language to be the main medium of instruction; A national curriculum; Common examinations; The education provided being varied and comprehensive in scope and which will satisfy the needs of the nation as well as promote national unity through cultural, social, economic and political development in accordance with the principles of Rukun Negara; and In accordance to the general principle that pupils are to be educated in accordance with the wishes of their parents.

NATIONAL EDUCATION : BUILDING THE FOUNDATION


The development of the national education system is based on the following thrusts:
Access to education; Equity in education; Quality in education; and Efficiency and effectiveness of education management

Gaps In Educational Accomplishments


1. Inadequate provision of electricity supply (rural schools) 2. Inadequate supply of clean water (rural schools) 3. Old school buildings (exceeding 30 years) requiring high maintenance 4. Insufficient classrooms and high number of double-session schools 5. Insufficient classroom/science laboratory facilities

Gaps In Educational Accomplishments


6. Low rate of student participation at secondary level 7. Primary school pupils have not mastered the 3R skills 8. Drop-out among students 9. Participation and achievements of special needs students, children of Orang Asli and Penan in Sarawak are still below par 10.Insufficient trained teachers in critical areas (in the remote schools)
