Thank you for taking the time to look at our book. I want to share with you my passion for a rental
instrument program that can provide affordable, quality instruments to your students while at the
same time, providing you with additional income. In the year 2000, I founded The Connecticut School
of Music. Shortly afterwards, I knew that my area of expertise would be to make sure that students
are provided the very best in their musical endeavors. As a concert and recording cellist, I value the
quality of each instrument that I perform with. While studying at Juilliard, I would often visit some
of the ner luthiers in Manhattan and became fascinated by the quality of instruments & repair
work they had to offer.
Not only do we provide a variety of instruments at varying levels, but we offer our services and repair
team to be available to you. I want to assure you that our level of service is unmatched, and we are
constantly working and learning to improve our company. We are very fortunate to be working with
numerous teachers in the tri-state area and we are privileged to serve so many students who trust
our instruments for their most important performances. I couldnt be more proud of my staff. We go
out of our way to be certain that every single child gets to play on the very best quality instrument.

"The varnish on these violas is beautiful to
start with. Deep, full and fast responding
low strings, especially low on the C-string.
Also, the G-string (high positions) is easy to

Much like our services, our string instruments are catered to you. Whether renting for the beginner
or the seasoned professional, we have the right instrument for you. Different levels of playing require
different setup and adjustments, from string height to bridge thickness to material of tailpiece and

Quality Instruments

Our White Label instruments are the most popular, entry level series recommended for beginners. These
instruments are extremely durable with scratch-resistant varnish to withstand accidental bumps and drops that might come from
younger hands. The instruments are specially designed for easy playability (strings are a little lower and softer). They come with
adjustable ne tuners, a wooden bow made of real horsehair, a soft case with straps to carry the instrument like a backpack, and
name tag.
This is for more advanced players and is our premier line of custom-made instruments. Like ne wine,
the sound gets better with age, so Black Label instruments are constructed with wood that has already been aged and oil varnished.
The combination of aged woods result in a mature tone suitable for more advanced students. The ribs and back of the instrument
consist of amed maple, and the top is made of spruce, which is among the most resonant varieties of wood. The instrument also
has a bridge made of aged maple and a solid ebony ngerboard.
We have access to an exclusive supply of rare instruments originally constructed in Europe in the 1970s.
These instruments were rst built by European companies such as Hoffner and Pfreshner in countries from Germany to Romania.
They have been carefully kept in storage for 30-40 years and are ready to serve their purpose today. Because these instruments
were built and had their lacquer and varnish applied three or four decades ago, the wood has had time to dry and age. It's rare to
nd aged instruments in brand new condition.

Varying Lals
All of our string instruments are available in varying labels to accommodate
every musician, from novice to professional.
Red Lal (Cellos only) For those who are more experienced than entry level players, but still don't require the top-
of-the-line Black Label cellos, we offer the Red Label. The Red Label cellos use a varnish that's somewhere between a scratch-
resistant varnish and an oil varnish, meaning that it's durable, but also retains some of the more sophisticated tonal qualities of high-
end instruments. Red Label cellos have a solid ebony ngerboard.
