Gilsons revolutionary Fraction Trapping System is unlike any other system on the market today. The Fraction Trapping System is ideally suited for processing fractions up to 20 mL in volume and concentrations up to 500 mg that have been purified on virtually any preparative HPLC system. Washing steps can be performed for removal of salts, buffers and mobile phase modifiers such as TFA that can hinder further LC/MS analysis. Fractions containing greater than even 50% water content can be processed and collected in 100% of organic solvent. This allows for fast dry down times at lower temperatures for samples that are heat sensitive. Dry down times of 12 24 hours can be reduced to less than 30 minutes.
Process fractions in 8 to 12 minutes with volumes up to 20 mL and concentrations up to 500 mg.

Together with Gilsons manometric modules and dynamic mixers, the 305, 306 and 307 Pumps offer a cost-effective, space saving and robust solution for isocratic or gradients of analytical to preparative HPLC.
The 307 model functions as an isocratic pump with a built-in manometric module. Dynamic mixers ensure ecient, dependable gradient creation.
The 306 model functions as a slave unit, controlled by either a 305 or TRILUTION LC Software.
Tools are not required for pump head removal, allowing accessibility for maintenance. Piston seals, check valves and other parts can be replaced in a matter of minutes.
Offering unmatched flexibility and performance for liquid transfer applications, the Minipuls Evolution is designed for scientists seeking a high performance, manageable peristaltic pump capable of a variety of configurations. Gilson offers the only peristaltic pump that allows up to 16 separate channel cartridges to be changed while the pump is running with a simple push on the cartridge for placement and removal.
The 305 and 307 Pumps are programmable through the incorporated keypad.

The 402 Syringe Pumps assure accuracy in sample transfers, dilutions, reagent additions, mixing and more. They offer speed and reliability for repetitive liquid handling tasks.
The Gilson Minipuls 3 multi-channel peristaltic pump is simple to integrate onto existing systems with control through an incorporated keypad or remotely with a separate device.
The Minipuls 3 accommodates wide ow rate ranges using either the standard or high-ow pump head. Pump heads are available with one, two, four or eight channels. Multiple stainless steel rollers drive the pump to produce smoother, low pulse ows.
402 Dual with Tee, provides rapid dilutions in both small and large volumes.
402 Dual, two-in-one accommodates simultaneous dispensing of multiple reagents and solvents.
An ideal addition to Gilson liquid handlers and injectors including the GX and 215 Series instruments.
Enhanced reliability and ease of operation are possible because the pumps speed stability is maintained independent of normal temperature variations from 0 to 40C. This makes the pump ideal for biological perfusion applications.

Two styles: 1. A shallow groove cut in the probe shaft, above the tip (shown). 2. Two probes are assembled concentrically, creating two separate channels, the inner channel for liquid and the outer channel for gas. Vented probes may have dierent tip designs. Sharp-tip enables septum-piercing Vent allows pressures inside and outside a sealed vessel to equilibrate as liquid is dispensed or aspirated

Recommended for thick septa Prevents coring of septa Compatible with injection ports Not recommended with limited volume
Based on the beveled tip design, the probe tip is curved and very sharp.
Sharp-tip enables septum-piercing Tip pushes septa out of the way as it pierces to prevent coring

Gilson Applications
Liquid Chromatography
cLC System: An Automated Solution for Normal and Reversed-phase Preparative HPLC with Analytical Purification Determination The cLC system offers researchers the capabilities of both RP and NP chromatography on a single system, including data representing the throughput and analysis capabilities of the system. Optimizing Purified Sample Recovery on Reversed-phase HPLC Systems This application presents the factors that can directly affect purity and recovery when processing compounds on a preparative level. The following system parameters were evaluated: collection valve switch time, detector time constant delay, DMSO sandwich solvent, delay volume from detector to collection valve and software response. Optimizing Chiral Separations via an Automated Parallel Scouting System for On-line Preparative Chiral Purification The system is capable of screening chiral compounds on four separate columns in parallel, increasing the stereoselective screening by four fold. Determination of Reproducibility within an Analytical System via Repeat Injections The data presented in this application shows that the Gilson HPLC system provides consistent and reproducible chromatography. A mixture of three compounds was injected repeatedly under analytical reversed-phase conditions. A Multi-purpose Preparative System for the Detection and Collection of Active and Non-active UV/VIS Compounds The process relies on an analytical scout analysis to determine the best gradient conditions to optimize the separation of the compounds under preparative conditions and minimize the number of fractions collected per run by incorporating ELS detection in addition to UV/VIS detection. Systematic Look at the Affects of Various Solvents, Injection Techniques and Sample Amounts in Preparative HPLC Columns Data is presented documenting the affects elicited in preparative chromatography under various conditions. A Totally Integrated 2D System Incorporating Ion-exchange and RP-HPLC for Natural and Biological Products An automated two-dimensional application that incorporates ionexchange and reversed-phase chromatography for the separation of complex mixtures. Data is presented that shows the usefulness of two dimensional chromatography and implementing alternative chromatography modes. Novel Approach for Screening of Drug Absorption via an Automated System The system presented provides a faster alternative to other screening methods, as well as an inexpensive analysis estimate of drug permeability for hundreds of drug candidates in a fraction of the time of conventional screening methods. Preparative HPLC: Factors and Parameters that Directly Affect Recovery of Collected Fractions Parameters discussed are column performance, mobile phase constituents, detector settings and collection parameters such as collection via level versus slope and delay volumes. The data offers guidelines for all chromatographers purifying compounds by preparative HPLC and can be implemented into existing systems. Optimized Sample Load Capacity and Separation Through a Series of Short Preparative Columns By placing the smaller preparative columns in series, loading capacity and separations of compounds can increase with short run times and semi-preparative flow rates, minimizing the overall cost of the larger preparative columns and channeling within the column. Train Keep a Rolling and Isolation Gradients: A Method for Purifying a Large Quantity of Sample via Continuous Injection and Simultaneous Fraction Collection on Multiple FC Beds Train injection employs continuous injection of sample under isocratic conditions and continuous fraction collection. In addition, isolation gradients also offer an efficient purification of preparative samples when the train injection technique is not applicable, as is the case with complicated chromatograms. Separation of Flavonoids Through Automated Multiple Column Injections and Sample Concentration via C18 Column Capture Identical columns are configured in parallel for multiple injections sequenced by the sample peak elution. Sample is concentrated on a separate C18 preparative column, the purified compound is eluted in high organic solvent for ease of dry-down. Enhanced Recovery of Compound Mixtures by Concurrent Dissection and Concentration of Isolates A crude separation of a complex mixture into impure isolates. The impure isolates are reintroduced to the column. Front and back sections are cleaved to fractionate uncontaminated compound on separate columns for concentration. Final elution dispenses pure compound in high organic solvent for ease of dry-down.
