JACK UP RIG
A jack-up rig is the mobile platform able to stand still on the sea bottom and rest on a number of supporting legs.
Drilling platforms
This type of rig is commonly used in oil and natural gas drilling.
Operation
A jack-up is a floating barge fits with long support legs that can
be raised or lowered. Upon arrival at the work location, the legs are jacked down onto the sea bottom. Then preloading takes place, where the weight of the barge and additional ballast water drive the legs securely into the sea bottom so they will not penetrate further while operations are carried out. After preloading, the jacking system is used to raise the entire barge above the sea water to a predetermined height or air
gap. Modern jacking systems use a rack and pinion gear solution where the pinion gears are driven by hydraulic or electric motors and the rack is affixed to the legs.
Our equipment
Jacking System
A jacking system normally consists of three racks for each leg and four to six pinion units for each rack. Remazel specifically design and manufacture pinions, shafts and reduction gear box systems for this kind of high load work.
SEMISUBMERSIBLE RIG
A semi submersible is a specialized marine vessel with good stability and sea-keeping characteristics.
Characteristics
Offshore drilling in more than 120 meters depth requires the operations to be done from a floating vessel. A semi-submersible obtains its buoyancy from the ballasted, watertight pontoons located below the ocean surface and sea waves. With its hull structure submerged at a deep draft, the semisubmersible is less affected by wave loadings.

Mooring Winch
A mooring winch consists of an electric or hydraulic mono-drum winch pulling the mooring ropes with a constant tension. A mooring system is to fix the position of the floating unit by using a set of mooring winches. Remazel design and manufacture mooring winches with pulling force up to 200t for semisubmersible units as well as update mooring winches already installed.
11
Semi-submersible platform
These platforms have hulls (columns and pontoons) of sufficient buoyancy to cause the structure to float. Semi-submersible platforms can be moved from place to place; can be ballasted up or down by altering the amount of flooding in buoyancy tanks; they are generally anchored by combinations of chain, wire rope and polyester rope, or both, during drilling or production operations.
12
Our equipment
Riser Winch
The product of oil wells is onboard of FPSO or platform by risers, connected to the Christmas tree or directly to the wellhead, which, on the seabed, is the interface with the well. The risers, previously installed and connected to the Christmas tree, are usually raised by ropes pulled with dedicated hydraulic winches. Remazel design and manufacture riser winches used onboard oil platform and FPSO.
13
Floating Vessels
FPSO - Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading
The floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit is a floating vessel used by offshore industry for the processing of hydrocarbons and for storage of oil until it can be offloaded onto a tanker or transported through a pipeline These units are moored to a location for extended periods, and do not actually drill for oil or gas.
Advantages
FPSOs eliminate the need to lay expensive long-distance pipelines from the oil well to an onshore terminal. They can also be used economically in smaller oil fields; once the field is depleted, the FPSO can be moved to a new location.
14
Our equipment
FPSO Mooring
FPSO are permanently moored on the oil wells using different methods. Spread mooring: the vessel is moored by a set of mooring lines at each vessel end. Turret mooring: the vessel can rotate around a moored turret (internal or external from the hull). The ends of the mooring lines consist of large diameter steel chains anchored in the sea bottom, reach the vessel ends or the turret where are locked in tension by means of suitable chain stoppers. The tensioning of the chains is made of hydraulic chain windlasses or chain jacks. Remazel design and manufacture complete mooring systems for floating units.
Off-loading System
Off-loading is to off-load the stored oil from FPSO to shuttle tankers. The offloading system is made of a large diameter hose that, when not in use, can be left floating on the sea surface or can be rewound with a hose reel on board of FPSO. Remazel supply complete off-loading equipments for FPSO.

S-LAY BARGE
There are two main ways that subsea pipes are laid: S-lay and J-lay. In S-lay pipeline installation, pipe is released off from the stern of the vessel as the boat moves forward. The pipe curves downward from the stern through the water until it reaches the touchdown point forming the shape of an S in the water. Stingers, measuring up to 300 feet (91 meters) long, extend from the stern to support the pipe as it is moving into the water, as well as control the curvature of the installation.

Remazel design and manufacture mooring winches with pulling force up to 200t for semisubmersible units as well as update mooring winches already installed.
Pipe Handling
The pipes are unloaded from the pipe storage vessels and stacked on the storage areas on both sides of the pipe-lay barge. Pipes are handled and moved to the working area safely using automatic equipment that offers optimal results both for productivity and reliability. Remazel design and manufacture pipe handling systems according to the vessel layout.
17
Our equipment
Bevelling
To prepare the pipes for welding, the ends of the pipes are beveled to make them exactly the right shape to be fit together. Remazel supply bevelling machines, available for pipe diameter between 6 and 60 inches.
ILUC Winch
Due to the movements of the ILUC inside the pipeline, an umbilical hose, feeding compressed air and power, must follow the ILUC movements. ILUC winch un-wind and re-wind around its drum the umbilical serving the ILUC. Remazel design, manufacture and upgrade ILUC winches.
18
A & R Winch
During pipe-lay operations, if there are bad weather conditions like hurricane, it is necessary for the vessel to quickly abandon the pipe on the seabed with help of winches and leave specifically designed to Abandon or Recover the pipeline on the seabed. Remazel design and manufacture numerous A&R winches up to 1100 ton capacity and up to 4000 m of rope (diameter 160 mm).
19
J-LAY BARGE
There are two main ways that subsea pipe is laid: S-lay and J-lay. J-lay method, by inserting the pipeline in an almost vertical position, puts less stress on the pipeline allowing working in deeper water depth. Unlike the double curvature obtained in S-lay, the pipe only curves once in J-lay installation, taking on the shape of a J under the water.

LDA Winch
The LDA winch purpose is to drive the J-Lay Tower Loading Arm that loads a newly built pipe string on the firing line into the J-Lay Tower. Remazel design and supply LDA winch according to customer specification.
TRA Winch
The TRA Winch has the main function of sustaining the pipeline when the hang off clamp is released and moving the pipeline during pipe-lay. The TRA winch is also designed to recover, when necessary, the load of the TRA and the pipes along the tower. Remazel has mature experience in this type of powerful winches and can design and supply customized units.
21
Initation Winch
The Initiation winch is used to pull the A&R wire rope from / to the capstan winch and from / to the utilization place, for instance, the J-lay tower or side fairleads. The initiation winch is a single drum winch, with adjustable speed, controlled in automatic or manual mode.
A & R Tool
To abandon the pipeline is necessary to move the weight of the pipeline from the J-lay tower clamp to the rope of the A&R winch. The load transfer requires a tool specifically designed taking into account the geometry of the system and applied loads. Remazel design and manufacture A&R tools up to 1000 ton.
NO DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT
Movable Sheave
To deviate the A&R wire rope from the deck to the pipeline direction, it is necessary to use high load vertical sheaves. These sheaves must be designed according to the J-lay tower and deck layout. Remazel design and manufacture movable sheaves systems up to 2000 ton operations.
22
SHORE APPROACH
Once the pipeline string has been entirely launched, it must be pulled onshore with an onshore anchored linear winch. The pipeline string is laid in a trench, which will be backfilled up to the initial seabed level.
Our equipment
Linear Winch
The linear winch (Tirfor), with self-gripping jaws, moves wire through the winch. It is used mainly for laying of pipelines via the beach pull method for pipe diameters ranging from 6 inch to 60 inch. Remazel has designed linear winches up to 500 ton pull capacity.
23
CV - Crane Vessel
A crane vessel, crane ship or floating crane is a ship with a crane specialized in lifting heavy loads. The largest crane vessels are used for offshore construction. The largest crane vessels are often catamaran or semi-submersible types as they have increased stability.
24
Our equipment
Umbilical Winch
The umbilical winch allows unwinding and rewinding an umbilical hose, for example a flexible pipe within which pass pipes and cables. The machine is equipped with a rotary joint for the passage of fluids and possibly a slip ring assembles for electrical connections. Remazel design and manufacture umbilical winches for a large range of diameters and length.
Tugger Winch
Tuggers are electric or hydraulic drum winches including deck handling winches for tug boats, pipeline handling winches for mining operations or even dragging items along tracks such as conveyor feed boxes. In particular, on high load crane vessels, tugger winches are used to pull and guide laterally the loads lifted by the crane. Remazel design, manufacture and upgrade several type of tugger winches with a wide range of pulling capacity.
25
Our equipment
Traction Winch
The traction winch, as defined in marine deep water applications, is the primary component of a system designed to provide a significant tractive or load-bearing effort to subsea cable. As operating depths and related cable lengths are increasing, traction winch systems are particularly attractive as these operating parameters complicate. Remazel design and manufacture a wide range of double capstan traction winches up to 750 ton.
26
Auxiliary Winch
Auxiliary winches can be used for various purposes to pull a load. In particular in offshore field it has large range of application. Example of the usage are the spooling winch providing the back tension during the winding of a wire rope on a drum, or the hold back winches preventing the fall of a load.
Our equipment
Spooling Winch
The spooling of a wire rope on a drum needs constant tensions to apply to the rope a suitable tension to avoid the premature wear of the rope. The spooling winches are machines designed to maintain the back tension during the rope spooling. Remazel design and manufacture spooling winches covering a large range of reel dimensions.
