I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Words dont have the power To soothe our troubled hearts, For time alone can ease The pain that life sometimes imparts... But may these words of sympathy Help show you that we care, And may they somehow Soften the sorrow you now bear.

OPENING SONG: COME HOLY SPIRIT

LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading, Theme: Gods Love Second Reading: Theme: heavens Joy

Gods immense, eternal love clarifies to us the meaning of life and death. Let us listen how Jesus himself speaks to us of Gods love. Yes, God loved the world so much that He gave his only Son, So that everyone who has faith in him may not die but may have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16-17) I love you just as the Father has loved me. Keep living in my love. You will live in my love if you keep my commandments, just as I have kept my Fathers commandments and live in his love. I have told you all this, yet for your sake, there is a greater need for me to stay alive. (Phil. 1:21-24) The Word of the Lord.

Gods immense, eternal love of the dear is their greatest joy. A good Christian lives in the love of Christ, yet if he dies, he lives even more in the glory of Christ and the love of God. St. Paul describes this in the following words: To me, life means Christ, So that death would give me even more. But then, if by staying alive in this body, I can do work that is more worth-while, I do not know anymore which to choose. I am torn between these two: I want very much to leave this life and to be with Christ, for that is far better: Yet for your sake there is a greater need for me to stay alive. (Phil. 1:21-24)

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

All: Thanks be to God.

SONG:

AMAZING GRACE

Third Reading: Theme: United with Jesus During life on earth, we live in union with the Lord Jesus. Through the oneness of life with him, we will one day be led by Jesus to the Father who is love without limits. Let us listen to Jesus: He is the vine and we are the branches. I am the true vine and my Father is the vinegrower. He cuts away every branch in me that does not bear fruit; but every branch that does bear fruit he trims clean so that it will bear more Live in union with me, as I live in union with you. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who lives in me, with me in him, bears much fruit; for cut off from me, you can do nothing. (John 15:1-5).

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost but now am found, Was blind but now I see. Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! Thro many dangers toils and snares I have already come Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far And grace will lead me home. When weve been there ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first began.

The Word of the Lord. EUOLOGY: By members close to the deceased and/or any member or relative of the family. (All sit) All: Thanks be to God. 5 6

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 23 (to be sung)

My Shepherd is the Lord, Nothing indeed shall I want. Leader: The Lord is my Shepherd, there is nothing I shall want. Fresh and green are the pastures where He gives me repose. Near Restful water he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit. (Response) He guides me along the right path. He is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear. You are with your crook and staff, with your crook and staff. You give me comfort. (Response) You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes. My head you have anointed with oil, my cup is overflowing. (Response) Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life. In the Lords own house shall I dwell forever and ever. (Response)

FINAL COMMENDATION AND FAREWELL (All stand) Leader: Brothers and sisters, before we part, let us take leave of __________________. May this farewell express the depth of our love for him/her, erase our sadness and strengthen our love. We know we shall see him/her again and enjoy his/her love. We know, too, that one day we shall joyfully be with him/her when the love of Christ, which overcomes all things, will destroy even death. Eternal rest, grant unto him/her of Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him/her. May he/she rest in peace. Amen.

All-good and Almighty Father, you are love. You love with an immense love. All the living and the dead. We pray now to the Lord for all the deceased from the community of our parish. PLEDGE TO UNITED SERVICE

That our life may contribute here on earth to build together a community of love which finds its crown and model in the community of love of heaven. Let us pray to the Lord. All: Lord, have mercy on our beloved dead
This moment is sacred with the almost visible presence of the one who has gone before. We come to honor the memory of one who offered his/her life in the service of his/her country. Fellow retirees and friends, let us now pledge ourselves anew to united service, to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by a devotion to mutual helpfulness in the protection of those left behind. Surely, there is an after life for all who have been loyal and true and peace shall come where there is love and forgiveness. We pray for one another and counsel each other that our burden maybe made lighter until we meet with our Creator. May the Lord give to the family of the deceased the strength to accept his death with faith and love and with complete trust in God. And may Almighty God bless us all, the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, great is your kindness and love and your mercy has no limits. Give eternal rest to all the faithful departed. Amen.

CHORUS Then sings my soul My Savior God to thee How great thou Art, How great thou Art. Then sings my soul My Savior God to thee, How great thou Art, How great thou Art. And when I think that God His not sparing Sent him to die I scarce cant take it in That on the cross he gladly took my burden And bled and died to take away my sin. (Chorus) When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation, and take me home what joy shall fill my soul. Then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim My God how great thou Art. (Chorus)

SONGS
I DONT KNOW ABOUT TOMORROW 1. I dont know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day. I dont borrow from its sunshine for its skies may turn to gray. I dont worry oer the future for I know what Jesus said. And today, I walk beside Him for he knows what is ahead. REFRAIN: Many things about tomorrow, I dont seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow and I know who holds my hand. 2. I dont know about tomorrow, it may bring me poverty. But the One who feeds the sparrow, is the One who stands by me. And the path that be my portion, maybe through the flame or flood. But His presence goes before me and Im covered with His blood. (Repeat Refrain) 3. Every step is getting brighter, as the golden stairs I climb. Every burdens getting lighter, every cloud is silver-lined. There the sun is always shining, there no tear will dim the eye. At the ending of the rainbow where the mountains touch the sky.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

(Koro) The Lord is my shepherd, He is Lord and I am his guest. Fresh and green are the pastures, where he leads me to my rest. Near peaceful waters he leads me to cheer up my cheerless heart. He guides me on the safe path, he will always do his part. Refrain: If I should ever walk in the valley of darkness, No evil would I fear, You are there to show the way. If I should ever walk, in the valley of darkness, Your crook and your staff, they will lead me to the day. You prepare a banquet in the sight of my foes. You cool my head with oil, and my cup overflows. Surely goodness and kindness will be with me all the way. The Lords house for my dwelling, I will thank him everyday. (Refrain)

I BELIEVE I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows. I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, A candle glows. I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way I believe, I believe. I believe above the storm the smallest prayr, will still be heard. I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word. Every time I hear a new born baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky then I know why I believe.

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS

Make me a channel of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring your love. Where there is injury, your pardon Lord. And where theres doubt, true faith in You. Make me a channel of Your peace, where theres despair in life, let me bring hope. Where there is darkness, only light. And where theres sadness, every joy. Chorus Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek So much to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, To be loved as to love with all my soul. Make me a channel of Your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. In giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that were born to eternal life.

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be. With God as our Father, Brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now, with every step I take, let this be my solemn vow; To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. 18

ABOVE ALL
VERSE: Above all Powers, Above all Kings Above all nature and all created things Above all wisdom and all the ways of man You were here before the world began. Above all Kingdoms, Above all Thrones Above all wonders the world has ever known. Above all wealth and treasures of the earth Theres no way to measure what Youre worth. CHORUS: Crucified, laid behind a stone You lived to die, rejected and alone Like a rose trampled on the ground You took the fall and thought of me Above all. (Repeat Verse) (Repeat Chorus) Like a rose trampled on the ground You took the fall and thought of me Above all.

TAKE AND RECEIVE Take and receive O Lord, my liberty Take all my will, my mind, my memory. All things I hold and all I own are thine Thine was the gift to thee, I all resign. Do thou direct and govern all and sway Do what thou wilt command and I obey. Only thy grace, thy love on me bestow These make me rich, all else will I forego.

ANIMA CHRISTI
Soul of Christ, sanctify me Body of Christ, save me Water from the side of Christ, wash me Passion of Christ, give me strength. Hear me Jesus, hide me in Thy wounds That I may never leave Thy side. From all the evil that surrounds me Defend me And when the call of death arrives Bid me come to Thee That I may praise Thee with Thy saints Forever.
