Chapter I Background of the Company The Korea-Philippines Information Technology Training Center (KOR-PHIL) is a premier government ICT learning institution in the Asia Pacific region, powered by state-of-the-art Korean technology complemented by Filipino ingenuity. This facility is made possible by a grant from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to the Philippines Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Operated and managed by the Quezon City government, it is the only institution in the country with advance and secured learning facilities, far better than similar government facility and at par with the private facilities. KORPHIL is currently the largest TESDA owned facility that offers management and staff level ICT courses, information systems solutions and ICT project quality and implementation management services.

History of the Organization The training centers were established with TESDA at Novaliches, Quezon City (main) and Guiguinto, Bulacan (satellite). Combining the best of the Korean and Philippine training systems, the Centers train and produce world class IT workers who can compete for jobs in the local and international markets. The Korea-Philippines IT Training Centers were granted by the Government of Republic of Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Republic of the Philippines. This Center was officially inaugurated by His Excellency President Rom Hoo Hyun of the Republic of Korea and Her Excellency Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the Republic of the Philippines on December 16, 2005 during the incumbency of Honorable Secretary Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco and Honorable Mayor Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr., Mayor, QC. "

Vision/Mission Statement

Prior to the development of the roadmap/vision, we have defined the following threeyear mission of the KorPhil:

Capture the market niche ion 2D and 3D Professional Animation Trainig; Develop ICT education and Training Programs that will ICT- enable Filipino businesses Develop an ICT community of stakeholders, both industry partners and individual ICT experts; and Evolve as a self- sustaining institution of research and development of the Philippine ICT industry and community.
